Chapter 708
Bogus Billionaire
âDarling Kirkâs magnetic voice pulled Caroline out of her thoughts. âWhat are you thinking about?â
Caroline shook her head âOh, itâs nothing. Do you want to go to the company with me?â He was probably bored from staying home all day.
Kirk declined, âNo, itâs fine.â
Recently, he had been trying to expedite the transfer of his business from Macldo to Easton. If he wanted to remove Morrison Corporation from the running, he couldnât rely on the Collins Groupâs assets. He could only rival their assets by moving part of SY Groupâs industry to Easton.
Caroline nodded. âOkay, if you get bored staying here, call me any time.â
âOkay.â
Kirk pulled Caroline into the car. Soon, the car arrived at the Evans Groupâs building.
Caroline got out of the car. Then, Jack watched her disappear into the building before he turned around and asked Kirk, âSir, will you be going home or to the company?â
A sneer appeared on Kirkâs lips. He asked, âHow long has it been since you boxed?â
Jack was startled by his question. He didnât know what was going on. âSirâ¦â
âLetâs go for a little exercise, shall we?â
Jackâs eyes lit up at his words, but there was still confusion in his gaze. But his doubts soon vanished when he and Kirk arrived at the Morrison Corporation.
When Caroline entered the Evans Groupâs office, Cheryl followed her in.
âHi, Caroline. Why havenât you come to work for two days?â Cheryl had asked her in the group chat.
Caroline had said things were fine. However, Gwen hesitated before answering, as if they werenât okay.
Caroline smiled. âA small thing happened at home.â
Cheryl looked at Caroline suspiciously. Then, she remembered something very important.
âBy the way, Caroline, someone from the bank called. They asked you to submit some documents.
Caroline picked up a document from her table and said, âIt should be this one.â
Cheryl picked it up and read it with curiosity, âApplication for the acquisition of the Collins Group The Cilins Group!â
Cheryl opened her mouth in shock. She read the document carefully to ensure she wasnât seeing things, and then, she looked at Caroline in disbelief. âCaroline, are you planning to buy the Collins Group too?â
Caroline wasnât just kidding around, was she?
Caroline took the document from Cheryl with a smile. âWhatâs wrong? Is it that strange for me to do that? Everyone can apply to buy it, but even if they do, they may not be able to get it.â
Cheryl held her chest and asked, âSo, Caroline, youâre just doing this for fun, right?â
Caroline said, âNo. Since Iâve applied to acquire the Collins Group, Iâll strive to take over the company. Otherwise, I wouldnât waste my time.â
âBut!â Cheryl almost choked on her saliva from anxiousness. âMr. Eddy has made it clear that heâll help Layla. Now, no one intends to fight Layla for the Collins Group.â They knew they couldnât beat Layla.
Caroline smiled. âThatâs Laylaâs issue. It has nothing to do with us. Besides, I donât believe that I have to win the auction. Even so, I can just treat this as an experience, right?â
Cheryl thought Carolineâs words were reasonable, but she felt very uncomfortable at the thought of the Collins Group falling into Laylaâs hands. âCaroline, I really hope you can take over the Collins Group instead of Layla.â
Although it was very unlikely, Layla would definitely be pissed if Caroline got the Collins Group.
