Chapter 689

In the assistant’s message, someone claiming to be Yvonne’s sister shared that she had an idea to help Yvonne accept her relationship with Marietta.

Without giving it a second thought, Marietta immediately called her assistant. “Where is she?”

“She’s at a cafe in Orchid Avenue right now,” the assistant answered. “You can directly meet her there.”

Marietta hung up. She rushed to hail a cab and headed straight for the cafe.

It didn’t take long for her to reach her destination. It was pretty close to where Marietta was before. She suspected that the woman knew of her whereabouts and deliberately chose this place.

As soon as she stepped into the cafe, Marietta saw Aurora sitting at a table. She instantly knew that her suspicions proved to be right.

“You were the one who messaged my assistant, right?” Marietta took a seat before Aurora, who was wearing a small smile.

Aurora spoke respectfully to Marietta. “Yes, Ms. Weiss. I heard about the problem you’re facing. It never occurred to me that my sister–in–law is your biological daughter. Fate truly works in mysterious ways.”

Marietta wasn’t in the mood to listen to her nonsense. “Let’s get straight to the point. Do you really have a way to get my daughter to accept our relationship? Don’t tell me it’s going to be by force.” She knitted her brows, looking all grim and serious. “I won’t agree to it.”

“Don’t worry, I won’t hurt her,” Aurora said. “I’ll ensure that she willingly returns to your side.”

Marietta didn’t buy it. She refused to believe such a miracle would actually happen. She had seen for herself how Yvonne reacted on that very day.

“Are you sure you can do it? What do you want as a reward if you succeed?”

Aurora was stunned by Marietta’s straightforwardness. A moment later, she said, “T–that’s not what I meant. I want to help simply because I want to be your friend. I have no other intentions.”

Marietta let out a bark of laughter. “Stop trying to pull my strings and just tell me what you want. An opportunity like this will never return.”

Hearing this, Aurora dropped the act. Beating around the bush could piss Marietta off, losing her chance once and for all.

“I. I want a place in your scripts. It would be best if you could give me the role of the leading-‘ Aurora swallowed her words mid sentence when she noticed the change in expression on Marietta silently pondered the idea for some time before telling her, “I do have a script that I intend to use for the collaboration with SY Group. However, things aren’t set in stone yet.”

“It’ll take about two days for me to get the contract signed.” She continued, “If you trust me, I can give you the role of the second female lead once that’s done.”

“But there’s something you should keep in mind,” she added as she stared into Aurora’s eyes. ‘I might be able to hand you the role, but it’s none of my business if your acting sucks and the director dislikes you.”

The script that she was referring to was one that she had put a lot of effort into. It was different from the half–baked script last time.

So if Aurora wasn’t good enough for the role and the director wanted a change, Marietta wouldn’t step in to defend Aurora. This served as a warning to her.

Naturally, Aurora accepted the offer. “Worry not, Ms. Weiss. I’ll do my job perfectly.

“Okay, so tell me this idea of yours.”

Aurora smiled. “I can’t tell you about it now. You’ll have to wait a couple of days furst Yvonne will gladly meet you.”

“What if that doesn’t happen?” Marietta asked.

“If it doesn’t, you can rescind the role you offered me Marietta gave it some thought and made up her mind. “It’s a deal, but you have to give me a time frame”

Aurora lowered her head and thought deeply A moment later, she raised her eyes to meet Marietta’s and said, “It’ll take no more than five days. If Yvonne doesn’t see you within five days, you can cancel your offer ”

“Okay, I’m leaving.” Marietta stood up to leave After seeing Marietta off, Aurora’s face scrunched up in contempt Yvonne was so lucky to have Marietta as her mother
