Chapter 650
Bogus Billionaire
âMr. Zellen, do you know something about this?â
Simon quickly avoided Eddyâs gaze. âI ⦠donât know.â
âYou must know something!â Eddy clamped his hand on Simonâs. âHurry up and tell me!â
Simon was helpless. âMr. Eddy, I⦠really donât know anything. Maybe he just has the same name?â
âThe same name?â
âThatâs right.â
Realizing that Eddy was loosening his grip, Simon contÃnued, âMr. Eddyâs, I think you should focus on handling Mr. Morrison Seniorâs funeral.
âThereâs nothing more important than making sure he has a smooth sendâoff.â
With that, Eddy was completely convinced.
âOnce Grandpaâs funeral has been settled, Iâll go and ask her about it.â
Simon wanted to speak but couldnât manage to. After some thought, he reminded Eddy, âMr. Eddy, there are some things that are⦠better not known.â
âWhy?â Eddy shot Simon a strange look. âEven if Caroline knows Uncle Kirk, thatâs⦠nothing much.â
Although he said this, his heart was beating like a drum. He had the feeling that something had been stolen from him without him even knowing.
What was Kirkâs relationship with Caroline? He didnât even know that for sure now. He was only afraid that Kirk â¦
Eddy wasnât at all afraid of Carolineâs husband, but he was scared that Kirk would fall in love with Caroline.
As Eddyâs thoughts raced, Simon had already come up with something to say.
âAfter all, this is Ms. Evansâ personal matter. If you ask too much about it, she might not be happy.â
Thinking about it, Eddy found Simonâs words to make sense. Besides, he really didnât have the âWhere is she, by the way?â
Simon was stunned for a moment before he came back to himself. âMs. Evans is in the study handling the guestsâ seating arrangements.â
âThen Iâll head over there.â As Eddy spoke, he went over to the study with the help of his crutches.
In the study, Caroline had already finished with the seating arrangements. Seeing Eddy come in, Caroline passed the list to him. âLook at this. Is this arrangement alright?â
Eddy accepted the list, but his gaze wasnât on it. He was surreptitiously looking at Caroline.
However, she didnât notice this. She kept talking. âIf itâs not good, Iâll take another look to see how I can adjust it.â
Only then did Eddy focus on the list. He took a look and found that there wasnât much of an issue with it. Butâ¦.
âWhy did you put Asher and Yvonne Hackett so far away? And why did you put Aurora Jenner next to Asher?â
Caroline was taken aback. âDonât you know that Aurora and Asher are dating? Besides, Yvonne and Aurora have always had a bad relationship.
âI remember at one of Auroraâs birthdays, Yvonne even intentionally came over to her party to taunt her.â
As for why they were on such bad terms, it was a topic everyone gossiped about.
Some people said that it was natural for Asherâs sister to dislike his girlfriend. Others said that they had once liked the same person, which was why they had it out for each other.
Regardless of what others said about the situation, it remained true that they had a poor relationship.
Eddyâs expression was one of shock. âI really didnât know that. Then, were the others not put together because of the same reason?â
âOf course,â Caroline replied. âYou canât think that doing the seating arrangement is something easy, right?â
Eddyâs lips parted. He really used to think that.
Caroline grinned. âItâs not that simple. Beyond considering who the people are, you have to look at their relationships with others.
âIf you arrange it haphazardly and allow two people who donât like each other to sit together, then it will be a disaster.â
Eddy looked at Caroline, his Adamâs apple bobbing. âGrandpa was right.â
Caroline was confused by this statement. âWhat?â
âMarrying you would be a great help to me. Youâd be able to help me deal with everything at home very well.â
As he spoke, Eddy couldnât help but move closer. âCaroline, could you give me another chance?â
Caroline suddenly sprang up, seeming as though she had been scalded. Enraged, she said, âEddy Morrison, please be more respectful. Iâm married.â
After saying that, Caroline left in a huff.
