Jude’s expression changed as he sat up straight. “Oh? Are these two incidents related?”

Jude glanced at him for a second before turning to look out the window in a huff.

Kirk only gave Eddy a slight smile, not explaining anything at all.

The atmosphere in the car slowly became quite strange. The three of them remained this way until they arrived at Morrison Manor.

Kirk said, “Uncle Jude, we’ve arrived.”

Jude gripped his walking stick and remained silent for a moment. Then, he said to Eddy, “Eddy, you get off first.”

Not understanding what Jude wanted to do, Eddy nodded. “Alright.”

After Eddy got out of the car, Jude angled himself toward Kirk and said, “Kirk, you cannot be with Caroline!”

“Uncle Jude, no one can interfere in my life.” Kirk leaned into the back of his seat, looking lazy.

Jude lifted his walking stick and tapped it lightly several times before he managed to control his churning rage.

“Kirk, Caroline is speciál to me. Besides, she grew up with Eddy. Although she went overseas for a long time, she had always been with Eddy besides that.”

He continued, “Although she is married now and is away from Eddy, she’s like a bird trapped in a golden cage. She craved freedom. Now that she’s gotten out, she’s drawn by the new world she’s found.

“But later, she will realize that staying in the cage and being cared for is a much more comfortable life.

“In the end, she will fly back into the cage. After all, that’s where she spent most of her life. That’s where it’s most homey.”
