Chapter 534
Bogus Billionaire
âIâm not a busybody!â Cheryl pouted as she grabbed Carolineâs hands.
âTell me, will you? I just want to know what itâs like to be in a relationship.â
Caroline laughed. âHow are things between you and Jack?â
âLetâs not talk about it.â Cheryl sighed. She would sink deep into her thoughts whenever Jack was mentioned.
âHe still thinks of me as a little sister.â
âMaybe the only way for you to handle this is by being straightforward.â
âI donât think thatâs a good idea.â Cheryl was worried.
âWhat if he doesnât like me? If I confess to him, but he doesnât like me, wouldnât it be super awkward then? We meet all the time here in the company, after all.â
âThatâs true.â Caroline nodded.
âIâll prod him when Iâm free.â
âIs that really a good idea?â Cheryl sounded uncertain, which made Caroline smile.
âI wonât ask him then,â said Caroline.
âWait!â
Caroline laughed now. âSo do you want me to ask him about this or not?â
Cheryl lightly pushed Carolineâs arm and muttered, âYouâre the worst!â
âThatâs enough. Go and do your work. Have the legal department prepare a contract to take down Mackey Group as soon as possible. Iâll head over to their company and negotiate with them.â
âYouâre going to meet them tomorrow?â
âThereâs no time to waste.â Caroline hoped that Kirk could cut ties with the Morrisons as soon as possible.
Otherwise, Eddyâs second uncle would force him into doing outrageous things over and over again.

âOkay Cheryl turned and left.
A few minutes later, Carolineâs phone rang. She picked up her phone and frowned when she realized that Liam was calling her.
She hadnât even met up with him to discuss the matter of taking over Mackey Group, yet he was calling her already.
After a moment of hesitation, she answered the call. âHello?â
âCaroline?â Liam sounded especially polite today.
âIs there anything you would like to tell me?â asked Caroline.
âYouâre still intent on purchasing Mackey Group, right?â
Carolineâs fingers tapped the surface of the desk lightly. âOf course.â
âWell then, letâs meet up tomorrow to discuss it. What say you?â
Caroline stared at the clock on her desk. âAre you willing to sell Mackey Group off?â
Was he willing to do it? Even after she had sent his son to jail?
Liam sounded devastated when he spoke again. âAfter going through so much recently, Iâve come to realize that youâre a genius at doing business.â
âI wouldnât regret it if I handed my whole lifeâs hard work over to you.â
He continued, âI spent all my time and effort on it, so I hope that I can sell it for a good price.â
Caroline glanced at her schedule and said, âIâm free tomorrow. Iâll ask someone to inform you of the time and place for us to meet then.â
âDonât worry about it,â Liam told her hastily.
âIâll have my employees arrange it for you.â
Caroline didnât give it much thought and agreed to it instantly. âSure. Send me the time and location when youâve arranged it.â
âOkay.â After hanging up, Liam glanced sideways at Jane.
âThe deed is done.â
She sneered. âWell done. Youâll be rewarded handsomely when itâs all settled.â
Liam smiled and bowed in exaggeration. âThank you so much!â
