Chapter 239
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
âGrandma, no matter the misunderstanding, I really shouldnât have spent the night at a male friendâs
house. But donât worry, I really am just friends with Sebastian. Nothing happened between us. Heâs
a very good man, and has never crossed the line with me.â
Rebecca smiled faintly, âYouâre so anxious to speak up for him. Seems like he really is a good
man.â
âGrandma, heâs the CEO of Skycrest Enterprise.â
âSkycrest Enterprise?â Realization dawned upon Rebecca. âI see, so heâs the son of the chairman
of Skycrest Enterprise. A capable man indeed.â
âGrandma,â Rosalie said as she knelt on the ground. âIf youâre not happy about it, Iâll just keep my
distance from him.â
Rebecca sighed. âHeâs your friend. I canât stop you from making friends. Whatâs more, youâre now
divorced from Theodore. I have no right to ask that of you.â
âGrandma, Iâm the one at fault for failing to keep our marriage intact. Iâve disappointed you.â
Had Theodore not asked for a divorce, she would have been willing to stay in the marriage despite
knowing that he didnât love her. She was willing to do anything for Grandma.
âSilly girl! How could you be to blame?â Rebecca patted Rosalieâs head gently. âEven Theo said that
itâs not your fault.â
âWhat did you say?â Rosalie looked at Rebecca in doubt. âWhen did Theo say that?â
âWhen he came back yesterday after you left.â
Rosalie recalled that she fought with Theodore again before she left yesterday. She felt very
agitated, and drove off immediately. She didnât know what happened subsequently. Did Theodore
not leave at all?
âGrandma, what did he tell you after he came back?â she asked.
Rebecca stared straight ahead, looking rather haggard as she lamented. âHeâ¦â
Last evening, Rebecca had locked herself up in her room until she heard Theodore outside the
door.
âGrandma, Rose has left. I need to talk to you. Let me in, please?â
Rebecca didnât let him in, and simply ignored him.
Theodore persisted, âGrandma, itâs fine if you donât let me in to see you. Iâll just talk to you through
the door.â
After pausing for a moment, he went on, âGrandma, everything that happened was my fault. Rose
has nothing to do with it. I was the one who kept getting entangledâwith Cindy, and I made Rose
sad many times.
âAs for me saying that she spent the night with another man, I said that in a fit of anger. That man is
my friend, and even if he isnât, I have no right to say anything about it. I myself frequently stay out all
night, while that man really didnât do anything with Rose. You have to trust her character.
âGrandma, I know youâre still angry, but know that everything is my fault. I was the one who caused
everything. I was the first to betray our marriage and disappoint Rose. You know she likes to keep
things to herself. The fact that she fought with me shows that she really couldnât take this any
longer. It tells you how terrible Iâve been to her.
âGrandma, Rose and I are divorced now. I know itâs not something
you wish to see, but think about it from Roseâs perspective. Sheâs now freed from a horrid
husband.â
Rebecca remained silent for a long time.
After Theodore was done speaking, he stood at the door for a long time until Rebecca finally said,
âCome in.â
Theodore sighed, and opened the door to enter.
A thunk came from the room not long after.
Rosalie was stunned after hearing Rebecca recount what happened yesterday. Eventually, she
asked in shock, âGrandma, you hit him with your cane?!â
