Chapter 240
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
âHahaâ¦â Rebecca suddenly laughed. âI said so much, but you only focused on the fact that I hit
him. Looks like your heart still aches for him.â
âNo, Grandmaâ¦â Rosalie smiled awkwardly. âI was justâ¦a little surprised.â
âIs that so? Just surprised?â Rebecca shrugged dismissively. âAllâs good, in that case. I taught him a
lesson on your behalf, and heâs probably still lying in bed in pain.â
Rosalie gripped the hem of her shirt, suddenly feeling anxious. The image of Theodore injured and
in pain flashed past her mind
instinctively, and made her panic.
âGrandma, no matter what, you shouldnât have hit him in a fit of anger. Iâm not worried about him,
Iâm worried about you getting angry. Hitting someone takes quite some energy.â
Contrary to her own words, Rosalie couldnât help but be worried about Theodore. She didnât expect
Theodore to say all those words and take all the blame.
He would always blame her, but in front of others, especially Grandma, he would always admit his
wrongdoing.
What exactly was he thinking?
âAll right, you silly girl. Just admit that youâre worried about him. Itâs not like I canât tell. Now that you
two are divorced, what do you plan to do next?â
ââ¦â
Rosalie looked up. After a momentâs hesitation, she said, âMany
things have happened during this period, and I feel very suffocated and miserable. I want to go
abroad for a holiday for a few months, and get some fresh air.â
She had to find a place to give birth to her baby. She was worried that if Rebecca were to find out
that she was with child, she might
demand Theodore to remarry her.
Under such circumstances, there were only two possibilities.
Theodore would either be forced to remarry her for the sake of the, baby and end up hating her
even more, or refuse to remarry her and make her abort the baby.
Both possibilities were terrible, which was why she decided to only tell Grandma about the baby
after she gave birth.
By then, Theodore would probably be married to Cynthia. He wouldnât need to remarry her.
Rosalie would then tell Grandma that she was in love with another man. She would at most hire an
escort to help her explain to Grandma that she had a partner. Everything would then be resolved.
âAll right,â Rebecca said with a nod. âYou should go get a breather. Itâs been tough on you over the
years. Go visit a few countries and have fun. Donât worry about spending the familyâs money. Theo
told me that heâs given you five percent of the companyâs shares, which is the least he could do.â
âYes, Grandma. See, I didnât lose out. You donât need to worry about me at all,â Rosalie said with a
bright smile.
Rebecca lifted a hand to caress Rosalieâs face. âYou silly girl.â
Rosalie had lunch with Rebecca before heading back in the afternoon.
When she reached home, she felt rather uneasy thinking about how
Grandma hit theodore.
Grandmaâs cane was made of solid wood. Anyone hit by it would certainly be in a lot of pain.
Rosalie pulled out her phone, wanting to call Theodore to ask how he was. On second thought, she
thought it was a bad idea to call him.
In what capacity would she be asking him in?
Oh yes, she could call Anthony.
She wondered if Theodore had settled them down yet. It wouldnât be a big deal for her to call
Anthony to find out, and take the chance to casually ask about Theodore.
Rosalie justified her actions to herself before calling Anthonyâs number. The line rang for slightly
over ten seconds before he answered it.
âHello, Madam Rosalie.â
