Chapter 1035
When Love Comes Late
âBut yesterday, I received a gift which had the name Garry Clark written on it.
â
Matthew immediately thought of all the accidents that had happened.
He wondered whether it was done by Garryâs so called illegitimate son.
His gaze darkened.
His hatred grew.
He wanted nothing to do with Garry, and didnât want Stella to know about Garryâs dirty past.
His voice turned ice cold.
âGrandpa, do you have any idea of what that person looks Like?â
Waldo hadnât expected Matthew to pose this question.
After a brief moment of surprise, he shook his head.
âI declined to meet him earlier.
After the banquet last night, I tried calling back, but couldnât get through.
â
Waldoâs expression grew uneasy, and a frown creased his face.
Matthewâs demeanor turned serious.
After a thoughtful pause, he analyzed, âHe chose last night to make a move.
Thereâs probably something else he plans to do next.
â
Locking eyes with Waldo, Matthew advised in a deep tone, âYou and Grandma should be cautious.
Try not to leave the house.
If he contacts you again, let me know immediately, and Iâll handle it.
â
âOkay.
â Waldo agreed.
Exiting the study, Matthew closed the door behind him, his eyes darkened in contemplation.
As he headed downstairs, he encountered Lucia and a servant engaged in conversation and laughter.
âGrandma,â Matthew greeted, adjusting his mood.
âMatthew!â Luciaâs eyes brightened at the sight of him.
She glanced behind him and asked, âWhereâs Stella? Why isnât she with you?â
âI came to discuss some company matters with Grandpa, and I didnât bring Stella to avoid her getting bored.
Iâll bring her next time,â
Matthew explained calmly.
Lucia, not sensing anything amiss, remarked, âYou shouldâve informed me when you planned to visit.
I wouldnât have gone out.
Stella wouldnât be bored with me chatting with her.
â
âYes, youâre right.
I was thoughtless,â Matthew apologized with a sincere attitude.
âBy the way, I took Stella for some wedding photos today.
Let me show you.
âHe took out his phone.
