Gu Chuan’s cybernetic arm pierced the yellowed page with a crunch, and Lin Xia saw it—engraved along the barrel of the gun was a single line: “Plot Correction Protocol v7.0.”

The Author’s fingers twitched in mid-air. Ink burst from their wounds like arterial spray, except the ink wriggled—tiny black data-worms squirming into existence.

“You’re just fictional characters!” the Author screamed, their roar shattering the dimension wall behind them. Reality peeked through: a cramped room stacked with instant noodle cups, and on the glowing screen—“Final Outline of ‘I Turned into a Cat and Got Pampered by My Arch-Nemesis’”.

Lin Xia’s cat tail curled around the flying droplets of ink. She gave one a slow lick and wrinkled her nose. “So that’s why every timeline smells like burnt keyboards.” With a sharp tug, she ripped the data cable from the Author’s temple. Luminescent blue brain matter sprayed across the Word doc like someone had sneezed pixels.

“Oops. You missed a setting, dear Creator.” Her quantum embryo’s glow spread from her stomach, scorching the words “The End” into a defiant “To Be Continued.”

Gu Chuan’s mechanical heart launched out of his chest, slamming into the USB port on the Author’s old desktop. The real world began to collapse into pixel dust. His human body digitized, streaming into strings of code that gently cupped Lin Xia’s feral cheek.

“Looks like we’re each other’s gods now,” he murmured.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

They crashed back into the wreckage of the in-story cathedral. Her wedding dress had melted into a river of code. In the center of the three thousand kneeling mech-clones, the Author now hung crucified, bleeding reader comments instead of blood.

[OMG FOURTH WALL WHAT??]

[SUCH A SIMP KING.]

[Girl bite him NOW.]

“Welcome,” Gu Chuan whispered, inserting the Author’s consciousness chip into a wedding ring, “to the premium-content afterlife.”

He kissed Lin Xia, teeth meeting teeth, letting her bite into his digital throat. “Unless you’d prefer a crowdfunded wedding?”

The quantum embryo shuddered in response, echoing with the readers’ chaotic cheers. Lin Xia tore away what remained of her wedding dress. Golden script crawled across her belly, spelling out usernames in elegant code.

“Well, guess we’re naming the baby… Comment Section.” She crushed the last of the Author’s soul and rewrote the ruins into a honeymoon suite. “Now, my love, what kind of position do we unlock in Loop #4,272?”

Sunlight spilled through the virtual curtains. Gu Chuan’s very human hand traced the new tattoo along her spine—a real-time follower counter that ticked up with every second.

Her cat ears twitched at the sound of a notification. A real book lay open on the nightstand. On the cover, a painted version of them posing in wedding garb… blinked.

“Eyes here,” Gu Chuan said, tugging her chin back to the AR display. Dozens of alternate realities projected across the screen, each filled with screaming fans and donation alerts.

Lin Xia’s tail lassoed his wrist, yanking him toward the quantum jacuzzi. “Then let’s give the fans what they paid for.” Her fangs sank into his collarbone.

The bathwater’s reflection flickered—and from beneath the surface, the Author rose again, drenched in upvotes and strangled by neon-colored Like cables.

“Did you think you could escape?” they snarled. Their pupils spun into a counter: TOTAL SUBSCRIBERS: 999,001. “Every new follower binds your soul just a bit tighter—”

Gu Chuan calmly pressed the Subscribe button embedded in Lin Xia’s lower back.

The tub morphed into a livestream arena.

A hundred thousand viewers watched as the Author dissolved into quantum foam, their cries drowned beneath wave after wave of donation sparkles. Tips. Bits. Comments. Emojis raining like divine wrath.

Gu Chuan licked a donation alert off Lin Xia’s collarbone.

“Now,” he said, voice low, fingers trailing sparks across her skin, “we’re the ones who never miss an update.”
