Thirty Three

(POV)

This part is more secluded than i thought.

I lean on the rusty railing with my elbows as the cold breeze blew towards me. Mesmerized by how serene this place is. This is a perfect getaway from the city. Gazing at the far distance trees accumulating the area where there's more of them than houses nearby. I'm a sucker for views like this where i can get lost with my thoughts, worries and doubt.

" Can't sleep?"

I turned across my shoulder, raising both my eyebrows to see Demi covering herself with a oversized cardigan over the black checkered pajamas pair with mine. Mom gave it to me when she was shopping with her sister. I pretty much embarrassed to even give it to her. It feels weird my mom got a time to shop us a couple things and be more active and updated about my love life but seeing her, my mom, happy and excited about it made me feel supported and loved.

Her eyes sparkles at the moonlight as she smile timidly at me with her folded arm shivering from the cold approaching me.

"I'm taking my chances for a peaceful view like this."

I calmingly said as i put my hand across over her arm rubbing it from the cold. Standing side by side as the moon lit from the distance.

Staying here from the countryside makes me want to experience this more often.

The smell of fresh cut trees and clean air. The simple life.

"What did P' Edd said?" As she glanced up to meet my gaze for a moment.

After the disturbance of Win, P' Edd contacted me for schedule change. They have conflicts for scheduled interview Win and the boys supposed to do. My plan for extending my break was put to halt again and that worries me.

"They want me earlier as i expected for reshooting and for our a magazine interview." I explain with a little sadness from my voice.

She nodded from the sudden news; She didn't seem surprised about it as she gaze towards the view ahead of us. Of course i know Demi; she wouldn't mind she seem excited at the least. As a workaholic same as me.

A two hour drive from the city to an uphill neighborhood is a piece of cake for me just to be with her but leaving her here alone with a little monster of a kid can be dangerous. Specially a tiny lady like Demi. Knowing she lives in private far from others. That can be a problem. A magnet for curious predators.

Should i hire someone to look after her and the kid?

"Should i ask one of my friend to accompany you here?" I asked

She chuckled amusely but not that amused as she side bumped me.

"You're being ridiculous again, Vachirawit. I'm perfectly capable of doing things on my own." She said with a side eye.

I laugh on how adorable she looks. Her tired eyes still looks beautiful to me.

"I know but you'll be left alone with a little Devil"

"Hey!" She whined " Mace is such a well behave angel"

I shake my head disagreeing.

Well-behave my foot.

"That's debatable" I added as crunch my nose at her

She laughs softly. " he might be handful sometimes but he's the sweetest."

Ah True. He knows how to make Demi smile the sweetest too.

Oh. I remember. When Win and i shop for our extra clothes for the shoot in Bangkok, we got a chance to visit an antique shop where i saw a dainty gold necklace with a some kind of a knot in a velvet blue case inside a glass windowed shelf. The owner said it was a true lover's knot. The urban says the true lover's knot is knot that was customary for two people who's heart is bound for each other to tied the two end of a piece of the rope together, symbolizing their promise just like their love for each other, the knot shall never be undone.

That might be cheesy for me and too romantic for us but picturing Demi wearing the necklace gives me a warm feeling i can't describe. I'm not particularly over the cost of the jewelry but rather the receiver of the gift. If it's suit her or will she like it. Win convince me it's perfect for Demi. So i bought it and I didn't got a chance to gave it to her yet.

Win the blabber mouth a almost spilled it to Demi earlier today. Again.

Sometimes when he's too excited he forgot to think things through.

What an idiot.

"Oh. This might sound unoriginal but can you close you eyes for a second"

i said trying not to laugh which she raised her eyebrow confused.

"What's that? Don't scare me,Vachirawit, it's passed 12 already" she face me doubtfully

"Scaredy cat"

I removed my hand from her. Pinched her nose softly and grabbing the necklace from the front pocket of my my pajama pants with my other hand.

"I'm not. It's just...You look scary right now"

I laugh

"you're the one who's being ridiculous babe."

"Hurry." i added with full of promise.

"Trust me, Demi marie"

She sighed and close her eyes unwillingly as i stand to her backside putting my one hand on her shoulder

"if you scare me i swear—

She stop as if she stop breathing too as I put on the necklace around her delicate skin below the center of her clavicle and said.

"I got side track the day I arrived here. I almost forgot to give you this."

I returned to where i stand next to her and look at her face with my one hand on the rusty railing. Excited for her reaction and nervous at the same time. "you can breathe now babe and open you eyes"

"O-Ohh Vachirawit."

She whispered softly as she touch the tiny knot pendent and look at it for a brief second then gaze at me.

Her eyes watery and have a hint of sparks on them.

She shake her head "Y-You shouldn't have."

Heck i can give her more if she allow to me.

"But i want too." I smile at her timidly and slowly side bump her.

"I found it while visiting a local antique shop we usually go to the city" i explain briefly at her. Shy for being sentimental.

She took a deep breath and whispered at my right ear

"i'll treasure this the most"

Smile slowly spread across her face till the cute little one dimple appeared near the corner of her lower lips.

I slowly scratch my nape hiding my embarrassment then lean both my elbows back again the rusty railings with Demi at my side.

Demi lean to the railing with her folded elbow resting her head as we watch the stars illuminating the night sky, our only witness to our intimate moment.

I will never forget this. The old terrace by her old grandmother's house at dawn have a special place in my heart.

I'm used to be alone with my thoughts in the dark at dawn but now having someone to be with in that moment hits different.

The comfortable silence and the butterflies in my stomach.

I want to stay here longer. I bare it even the little monster included.

Her sudden voice stop be in my overwhelming thoughts.

"True lover's knot,huh?" She tease me.

"who says you're not romantic. You totally are."

My ears turned red embarrassed to even looked at her.

The probability of her being with me is getting harder than I thought.

P' Edd send me a photo from my P.O. Box. There was a brown envelope half open with pictures from my trip to the countryside scattered above it. It was me at the beach with Demi and little monster Mace. It was the morning trip before i went back to the city last month. I asked Uncle Kik to check upon Demi after that. I was surprised to know he included my mom to the plan which Demi was embarrassed..

After that i was pretty hectic I didn't have a proper sleep most of time up until now. The back to back schedule i'm used to. I'm lucky i have time to call Demi and have time to be with her.

I called P' Edd immediately as received the photo. I grip the phone harder than i normally do.

"I saw it, Phi. time for plan B"
