Chapter 66: A Dangerous Game

The basement was still in chaos. Aether was on a warpath, knocking over furniture as he chased a cackling Scaramouche, who was way too amused for someone who had just stolen a kiss.

"Get back here, you smug little—!"

"Why would I, blondie? You look like you wanna murder me!" Scaramouche taunted, effortlessly dodging Aether's attempts to grab him. "Can’t handle the fact that your sister likes me now?"

"*I DO NOT!" Lumine exploded, her face burning hotter than the sun.

Scaramouche grinned, sliding past a fallen chair as he glanced at her. "*Oh? Then why are you blushing, princess~?"

Lumine froze.

She opened her mouth—only to snap it shut.

Hu Tao and Furina? Wheezing. Furina had not stopped snapping pictures. "This is the best day of my life—"

"SCARAMOUCHE—!"

"Oop—!"

Scaramouche barely dodged Aether’s incoming fist, ducking just in time as it slammed into the wooden shelf behind him. A loud crack echoed in the room as dust rained from the impact.

"Woah, woah, easy there," Heizou finally intervened, stepping in between Aether and Scaramouche. "I don’t think Lumine would appreciate her twin getting arrested for murder."*

"Move, Heizou!" Aether hissed, his eyes still burning with rage.

"Or," Heizou offered, "we focus on, I don’t know, escaping this creepy house before we all die?"

Silence.

Then—

"...Fine." Aether exhaled sharply, glaring at Scaramouche. "But if you try anything again—"

"What, like this?"

Scaramouche—the absolute menace—winked at Lumine.

Lumine choked on air.

Aether lunged again.

"RUN—!" Scaramouche cackled, sprinting toward the basement stairs.

Hu Tao and Furina? Dying from laughter.

Lumine?
