Chapter 1: The Abandoned Town

The damp sewer seemed endless, the flickering flashlights barely illuminating the grime-covered walls. The group trudged through the murky water, the echo of their footsteps mixing with the distant, eerie sounds that seemed to follow them. It felt like they were walking in circles, but when they finally reached a door at the end of the tunnel, they pushed it open and found themselves standing in a completely different place.

Bright light hit their eyes as they stepped into the open air, blinking against the sudden change. They were no longer in the decaying school or the disgusting sewer. Instead, they found themselves in the middle of an old, abandoned town. The streets were deserted, buildings crumbling, and everything had a desolate, forgotten air about it.

"Well, this is... cheerful," Heizou said, surveying the area with a grin that didn't match the eerie surroundings. His eyes fell on a rundown ramen shop with faded signs and cracked windows. "Anyone want ramen?" he joked, raising an eyebrow as if it was just a casual suggestion.

"Only you would think about food in a place like this," Furina replied, her voice a mix of amusement and exasperation. But she couldn't help but glance at the shop, her curiosity piqued by the thought of something so normal in such a surreal setting.

Hu Tao, always in her own world, wandered ahead, her eyes bright with excitement as she stumbled upon a few scattered kawaii stickers stuck to a lamppost. "Look at these!" she said, grinning. "It's like the spirits are trying to leave us little gifts."

Lumine looked around, a strange sense of unease creeping up her spine. "I don't think they're trying to leave us anything," she said, scanning the surroundings. "There's something off about this place."

As they walked down the cracked road, they came upon an old, wooden bridge stretching across a stagnant river. The planks creaked under their weight as they carefully made their way across, the water beneath reflecting the eerie stillness of the abandoned town.

Suddenly, without warning, the air around them grew colder. The temperature dropped so rapidly it was almost painful. And then, just like before, the same disturbing figure-the lady in the white dress with the pink hat-appeared, standing at the other end of the bridge, her mournful cries echoing through the air.

Everyone froze, but before anyone could react, the figure suddenly lunged toward them with a speed that was unnatural, her face contorting in agony. The group staggered backward, and for a brief moment, it felt as if time had slowed.

And then, just as quickly as it had appeared, the figure vanished, leaving behind nothing but an oppressive silence.

"I swear, one of these days, I'm going to punch that ghost," Hu Tao muttered, still a little shaken. "She's really starting to get on my nerves."

"Yeah, that was definitely not normal," Heizou agreed, wiping his brow. "I thought ghosts were supposed to be, I don't know, more... subtle?"

Lumine gave them a pointed look. "Subtlety has never been a ghost's strong suit," she said, her voice low as she looked around. "We need to stay focused. This town feels... wrong."

They moved deeper into the town, and it wasn't long before they came across an odd, crumbling structure in the distance. The walls were jagged, the roof barely intact, and the door was cracked open just enough for them to slip through.

Inside, the space was eerily quiet, but as they ventured further in, Lumine's sharp eyes caught something above the doorway. A map, faded and yellowed with age, was pinned to the wall, and she immediately recognized what it was.

"Guys, this is a maze," she said, pointing to the map. "We're not just in some abandoned building. This is a trap."

Furina, ever the methodical one, stepped forward, adjusting her camera. "A trap or not, it's our only way forward." She snapped a picture of the map. "At least this way, we won't get lost."

"Great, now we just need to figure out how to get through without getting attacked by more random ghosts," Scaramouche muttered, rolling his eyes. "As if this couldn't get any worse."

Despite the tension in the air, the group continued forward. The walls of the maze seemed to shift as they moved, the passageways narrowing and twisting, leading them deeper into the heart of the abandoned town.

Lumine couldn't shake the feeling that something was watching them-something far worse than the haunting woman in the white dress. And though they had all been through their share of ghostly encounters, this time felt different.

They weren't just facing ghosts. They were facing something far older and far more dangerous. The maze was only the beginning.
