Ok, so a slightly different format this evening. Lots of voice mails (answer phone messages), Â a couple of photo messages and then the conversation to round it off.
'Bonjour, c'est le répondeur de Sophie. Laissez un message!' translates as, 'Hi, this is Sophie's voice mail. Leave a message!'
Other French phrases will be translated/explained within the update.
So, yeah, that's it.
Enjoy. Sarah xx

~*~*~ Voice Mail #1 ~*~*~
"Bonjour, c'est le répondeur de Sophie. Laissez un message!"
"Hey, you never told me that you broke your arm in three places falling out of a tree. You fell out of a tree? How does that even happen?"
[End of message]
~*~*~ Voice Mail #2Â ~*~*~
"Bonjour, c'est le répondeur de Sophie. Laissez un message!"
"You can sing? Charlotte's just informed me of this great karaoke bar in Paris. We. Are. Going. I need to hear you belt out 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.' Your sisters tell me that's your go-to song. We need to make this happen!"
[End of message]
~*~*~ Voice Mail #3 ~*~*~
"Bonjour, c'est le répondeur de Sophie. Laissez un message!"
"Haha! You looked really goofy as a kid! But at least you- what's the phrase all the kids use nowadays?- Longbottomed? At least give me props for a Harry Potter reference here!"
[End of message]
~*~*~ Voice Mail #4 ~*~*~
"Bonjour, c'est le répondeur de Sophie. Laissez un message!"
"So, répondeur means answer phone in French? Charlotte is teaching me some more basic French, although I think she's a little more colourful with her phrases than Duolingo. What does this phrase translate as? Putain!C'est quoi, ce bordel. Charlotte keeps sniggering whenever I ask and Emma's just shaking her head in disapproval but won't translate for me. Help!"
[End of message]
~*~*~ Voice Mail #5 ~*~*~
"Bonjour, c'est le répondeur de Sophie. Laissez un message!"
"You dated an Oxford rower in your final year? What the actual hell is that about? Ibet you only dated him because of his physique. Emma says that the dude was- an I shall quote this next bit because I am never directly saying this myself- 'freaking sex on legs.' We shall discuss this later."
[End of message]
~*~*~Â Voice Mail #6 ~*~*~
"Bonjour, c'est le répondeur de Sophie. Laissez un message!"
"The train just got in and I'm walking towards the car. Emma and Charlotte are trying- and failing- to duck out of having their photo taken by the paparazzi. I'll call you again when I get to your place."
[End of message]
~*~*~ Voice Mail #7 ~*~*~
"Bonjour, c'est le répondeur de Sophie. Laissez un message!"
"Your mother's place is insane! Like... Sophie, it's amazing! I'm gonna send you a photo of my favourite thing so far! Honestly! I am in love with this place. Out of interest, if I wanted to buy it, how much would it cost? Holy shit, someone put macaroons in my bedroom! Michel, je t'aime. I'm sending you this picture instead!"

"I never want to leave! Like, ever. Do you think your mother will let me stay?"
[End of message]
~*~*~* Voice Mail #9 ~*~*~
"Bonjour, c'est le répondeur de Sophie. Laissez un message!"
"Michel has just walked in with a load of shopping bags that are frankly quite terrifying to look at. I can barely pronounce some of these names! - Hey, Charlotte, how do you pronounce this?- Bal-en-cee-aga. Sounds very expensive, Sophie. Anyway, I'll give it a try and hope you like the end result. See you soon!"
[End of message]
~*~*~ Voice Mail #10 ~*~*~
"Bonjour, c'est le répondeur de Sophie. Laissez un message!"
"Ok, I'm dressed. Sending you a photo now. By the way, why haven't you called me back at all? I know Michel said that you got caught up with something, but come on! Let me know if I scrubbed up well enough to meet your high standards. If I didn't, blame Charlotte. She's been micromanaging everything about my clothes since Michel gave me the damn bags. Anyway, I hope I'll see you soon."

~*~*~ Incoming call ~*~*~
"Sophie?"
"Hey, you! How are you holding up? Have my sisters been treating you ok? If not, tell me now so I can plan my revenge on the way back to the house."
"No, they've been fine. Did you get all my answer phone messages?"
"Yep, every one of them."
"And?"
"Well, I'm definitely killing Charlotte when I see her. Honestly, she likes to tell everyone that I 'fell' out of that tree but we both know she pushed me!"
"She did?"
"I'm a klutz, I know. I've fallen over air more times than I'd like to admit to, but I did not fall out of a tree. Secondly, there's not a snowball's chance in hell that I am singing karaoke. My sisters are being very cruel when they say I can sing. I sound like a drowning cat, not Mariah Carey."
"Shame, I really wanted to hear you sing."
"I'm sure you did. I'm also ridiculously annoyed that they showed you a photo of me before I blossomed- or Longbottomed, as you so nicely put it. By the way, I'm glad to see that you're embracing the Potterverse. Ten points to Gryffindor."
"Who?"
"Oh, boy, I have my work cut out with you. By the way, 'Putain! C'est quoi, ce bordel' vaguely translates as 'What the fuck is this fuck up, for fuck's sake. Please, don't repeat that in everyday conversation."
"That's what it means? No wonder that little old French lady in the aisle opposite kept gasping and scowling at me as I practised it on the train! May I kill your sister?"
"No, that's my job. I did date an Oxford rower but it wasn't because he was sex on legs, as Emma so nicely phrased it. He was actually a very nice guy. Married now, last I heard."
"How long did the relationship last?"
"A few months. Not long enough to be serious. By the way, I'm the one who put the macaroons in your bedroom. I thought you'd like them."
"Oh, I did. I ate the whole damned lot!"
"Don't I get a 'Sophie, je t'aime' for my troubles? As I recall, you said you loved Michel for it, when you thought it was him."
"Sophie, je t'aime very much for the macaroons. Sorry, I didn't know how to say the last bit in French."
"You're forgiven. The flat, however, will never be for sale. My mother would rather see it burn to the ground than have someone else live here. You'd have to marry my mother in order to live there."
"Or I could marry you."
"Or that. Your outfit, by the way, looks very nice. I, personally, wouldn't have put you in two shirts, but the overall look works for you."
"Want me to take a shirt off?"
"I'm not sure. I'll see what I can do when I get back to the flat."
"Cool. I must admit, I'm liking the coat."
"Glad to hear it, because it's yours now."
"I get to keep it?"
"Well, I'm not going to wear it, am I? Everything in the bags Michel gave you are yours to keep."
"How soon will you get here? Emma and Charlotte are still getting ready."
"I'm about ten minutes out. I had a meeting with... well, a work-related thing. I won't bore you with it right now. Hugo is in the car with me now and as soon as I get back, I'm going to have to rush off to get changed myself. It's cool that you and Hugo hang out, right?"
"Yeah. He's cool."
"Great. You and he can leave ahead of us to skip the madness of the photographers. Hugo will make sure you get into the presentation without any trouble and he'll keep you company until I arrive."
"That's fine. Sophie, are you stressing out about this in anyway? You're micromanaging like Charlotte did."
"I'm a little nervous, that's all. Over nothing, I know, but this is your first time going to a show, and you're in Paris and... I just want you to have fun."
"Hey, I get to spend the evening with you. What's more fun than that?"
"Spending the evening with Mila Kunis?"
"Who?"
"Like you've never heard of her. She's an actress."
"Oh. Well, if we're talking actresses, I prefer Emma Stone. But, I'd imagine an evening with you would still be a lot more fun."
"Gee, your charm knows no bounds. But, if it's a compliment to me, I'll totally take it."
"Haha. What are you planning on wearing tonight? Bought more things from the runway shows?"
"No, my spending has been well and truly been kept in check this week. Mum sent over some dresses, so I'm hoping to find something that will suit."
"What colours?"
"Well, your coat is midnight blue and your shirt is a lighter shade of blue, so I was thinking of something to compliment that."
"Sounds nice."
"Mm, I hope there's something in the mix that'll work. Are my sisters around?"
"They're in someone's bedroom, arguing about shoes, I think."
"Typical. Not to worry, I'm outside the building now."
"You're here?"
"Yes."
"Thank God!"
"Excited to see me, huh?"
"Haha. Something like that."
"Ah, I get it. You spend most of the day with my sisters and suddenly I seem rather normal in comparison."
"Well, there's that, but... I missed you, that's all."
"..."
"I mean... whatever. Just hurry on up, will you?"
"Ok, ok. I'm coming. But only because you missed me."
"I'm never living that down, am I?"
"Nope! Getting into the cage now."
"Cage?"
"The lift."
"Ah, gotcha. I'll meet you at the top."
"See you there."
