"Hello?" Pt. 1759 words~4 min read

Ok, so I originally had Ollie Edwards as my version of Daniel, but I'm not sure he fits the bill any more. I haven't figured out who I want yet, that's why I haven't officially put a cast for this story. Anyway, here's today's update. Enjoy, Sarah xx

"Tell me everything you know."

"I'm a very knowledgeable man, if I tell you everything I know, we'll be here a while."

"Tell me everything you know about tomorrow night. I know Charlotte's text you, so spill!"

"She's text me?"

"Don't bullshit me, Daniel! Tell me."

"I don't know nothing."

"Ha! That's a double negative. If you do not know nothing, then you know something! What is that something, Daniel, what?"

"Isn't it supposed to be some sort of surprise thing?"

"Not really because I know that it's happening. What I don't know- but you do know- is what is going on, where it is going on, when it is going on. Give me answers, damn you!"

"Were going for drinks, at a bar, tomorrow. There, now you know."

"Argh!"

>

"-Oh, um, tea. I need something to relax me."

"Haha, that's a massive understantement!"

"Daniel, I told you to shut up. I said it for your sake, not mine, so bloody well listen, will you!"

>

"-Wait, Rachel! You didn't tell me... - Never mind. Daniel, just tell me."

"I can't. I've been sworn to secrecy."

"By who?"

"Charlotte, who, by the way, is not like you at all. She's amiable."

"How would you know how amiable she is? She text you."

"Actually, she phoned."

"... phoned? My sister phoned you, did she?"

"I get the feeling that that was the wrong answer."

"..."

"She... text me?"

"..."

"Sophie?"

"What!?"

"Why are you snapping at me? What did I do?"

"Nothing!"

"You're shouting, so clearly, I did something."

"I have to go."

"No! Don't you dare hang up."

"Daniel-"

"You're angry with me. You do not get to hang up when you're angry with me."

"I can hang up if I want to!"

"No, you can't!"

"Watch me!"

"Fine, hang up! Does it look like I give a shit?!"

"I don't know, Daniel. I'm not there!"

"Stop being a smartarse, Arabella!"

"..."

"..."

"..."

"..."

"..."

"Sophie?"

"Oh, so you do know my name!"

"What? Of course I know your name. Why wouldn't I?"

"Because you just called me Arabella. You know, your ex-girlfriend's name."

"..."

"You still want to stay on the line and talk?"

"Shit, I'm sorry, Soph. I didn't mean to. I just... the last person I argued with over stupid stuff like this was her and... it's a habit to yell her name when I'm angered."

"Uh huh."

"Sophie..."

"What?"

"Please don't be angry with me."

"I'm not angry with you, Daniel."

"Then, what did I do to upset you? Don't say it was nothing, or that it isn't important, or that I should forget about it. It is something, it is important and until you tell me what's going in, I won't forget about it."

"Charlotte can be flirty and I'm not... I'm not thrilled  that you and her are... on the phone."

"On the phone?"

"Yeah, on the phone. You know, like we're on the phone."

"Haha! Are you jealous, Sophie?"

"Be serious, Daniel."

"I am being serious. Are you jealous, Sophie?"

"No!"

"Then, why can't I be on the phone with your sister."

"Because..."

"Because?"

"Because is a valid reason. Be satisfied."

"Look, Sophie, as much as I did like talking with your sister, as as amiable as Charlotte is, she doesn't have your spiky side. Personally, you're a lot more fun. Ask me why you're more fun."

"Why?"

"Because you're spiky."

"I hate you, Daniel."

"If I tell you what, where and when tomorrow, will you like me again?"

"..."

"..."

"Yes."

"A cocktail bar called Diablo. Are you familiar with the place?"

"Yes."

"Then you should have worked out that Charlotte is arranging for you to go for cocktails."

"I did work that out."

"It's at seven tomorrow."

"See, did that kill you? You could have just told me that at the start of the conversation! Would have saved me from yelling."

>

"- So, I know that we're going to Diablo for cocktails at seven tomorrow night.-"

>

"Daniel?"

"Well, I have to go."

"Daniel, do not hang up!"

"Nope, got to go!"

"Daniel-"

[Call ended]

>

"He hung up on me! That fucktard hung up on me! Well, just you wait, Mr Whitaker. Payback is a bitch!"
