I've decided on Karla Souza for my Sophie. This might change, but for now, that's who I'm going with. Her photo is somewhere around here (it's important for the chapter, too.) Also, the video is for the song mentioned in the chapter. Sarah xx

"I'm thinking of colouring my hair."
"Why?"
"Because."
"Just because?"
"What, that isn't a good enough reason?"
"I'm sure it's a perfectly good reason for a woman. For men, there tends to be a more elaborate explanation."
"I can give you one of those if you want."
"I'd rather not be stuck on the phone for an hour and a half, thanks. I'll accept your 'because' answer and not enquire further."
"Why do you talk like that?"
"Like what?"
"Like, 'I'm so posh, I have a silver spoon in my mouth and a gold stick shoved up my arse.'"
"That's the poorest imitation of my accent I have ever heard."
"God, it's like talking to a robot."
"God, it's like talking to a three year old."
"I'm poking my tongue out at you."
"My point is proven."
"Really? You want to talk like that?"
"Why not?"
"Whatever. I'm on a photoshoot and I'm tempted to get the hairdresser to colour my hair."
"What colour?"
"Just a darker shade than what I currently have."
"You already have dark hair."
"I know, but I was thinking of having a richer colour done. WHat do you think?"
"It's your hair, do what you want."
"I'm glad you said that, because I already did it."
"Then why did you bother asking?"
"Second opinion, I guess."
"I'm sure you look lovely."
"Lovely?"
"Nice?"
"Nice?"
"Is there a right answer to this? If there is, please tell me!"
"How about I just send you a photo and you tell me what the right answer is."
"Fine."
"..."
"..."
"It sent."
"Got it. I'll take a look."
"..."
"..."
"..."
"..."
"The wait is killing me! What do you think?"
"I, uh- That's- well..."
"I'm going to take your stuttering as a compliment."
"Yeah..."
"Are you ok?"
"You look- yeah."
"Fuck me! I made you speechless!"
"Definitely."
"Score. After getting the colour and the cut done, the make up artist insisted on fixing my make up and then the photographer wanted to take a few frames. I look hot."
"Yes."
"You're acting very bizarre."
"Mhm."
"Ok, well this conversation has been fun."
"How tall are you?"
"Excuse me?"
"How tall are you?"
"Short."
"Ok, how short are you?"
"Does it matter?"
"Sophie."
"Five-eight."
"How the hell is that short?"
"Because most of the women I'm surrounded by are at least five-ten. I'm short!"
"Well, in the photo, your legs look amazing."
"You can only see one leg."
"Doesn't diminish from the fact that you look amazing."
"You so have the hots for me."
"Just one thing, though. I thought you said that you weren't that thin anymore."
"I'm not."
"Seriously? You look pretty thin in that photo."
"I'm a size eight."
"Right, and in your fashion world, that's considered fat, no doubt."
"To some, maybe. To me, I'm slim and toned."
"If you say so."
"I run."
"Ok."
"Seriously, I run. I'm doing the London Marathon this year."
"What?"
"I run marathons. I did the New York one a few years ago, but I've never done the London Marathon, so I'm doing it this year."
"For which charity?"
"Cystic Fibrosis Trust."
"Interesting choice. Did you chose that from a list?"
"Excuse me?"
"Did you chose it from a list?"
"No, I bloody well didn't!"
"No need to get defensive, Sophie."
"If you must know, my brother, Lucas, has CF. He's on the transplant list."
"..."
"Yeah, that shut you up."
"Sophie-"
"It is what it is. Just forget about it."
"I get the feeling that you're not an open person. With your feelings, that is."
"I'm not."
"That would explain why I get that vibe off you. I mean, you don't say a lot about yourself. At least, you don't discuss the serious parts of your life."
"Ever heard the Monty Python song, 'Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life'?"
"Hasn't everyone?"
"Well, that's my motto in life. I don't dwell on the bad stuff, I put it in a box and bury it deep inside."
"What happens when the box gets full?"
"It's a very big box."
"One day, it'll be full and then what?"
"I get a secondary box, fill that up and bury it deep inside."
"That's not healthy."
"Well, it works for me, so..."
"Ok."
"I'm going now."
"..."
"Bye, Daniel."
"Bye, Soph."
