No A/N tonight, just the update.

"I hate Friday the thirteenth."
"It can't be that bad."
"That bad? Are you for real? Do you know what I've had to put up with today?"
"From your indignant tone of voice, I'm guessing you've put up with a lot."
"Yeah, and it was all thanks to that fucking assistant of yours."
"Ok, if you're swearing, then I guess it really has been a bad day. Right, tell me all about it."
"Ok, first of all, did you hear about the fuss she kicked up at the hotel?"
"No-"
"She went ballistic! They tried putting her in a junior suite and she hit the roof. She was yelling and making demands. It was intense."
"Why did she end up in the junior suite? I booked the Sophie Suite at The Delaney. She shouldn't have been in a junior suite."
"Don't defend her! You're giving credence to her madness if you do that!"
"I'm just saying that she was correct in the fact that she had the wrong room, but I agree with you that she shouldn't have vocalised her opinions the way she did."
"Very diplomatic, Soph."
"I try. Did the room get sorted?"
"No."
"No? So, she stayed in the junior suite?"
"Did she hell. No, she demanded that she stay at my house. My house! She made me cook her breakfast this morning, which meant that I missed out on my early morning gym session and that's just put me in a bad mood. Also, do you know how many food intolerances and allergies Jasmine has?"
"Yes."
"Gluten, yeast, and lactose intolerances. She's allergic to fish and sea foods in general, as well as nuts, eggs and celery and celeriac. Breakfast this morning literally consisted of water!"
"Haha!"
"Why are you laughing? This isn't funny."
"Oh, sweetie, it is. Jasmine is only allergic to nuts."
"What?"
"I've seen the woman scarf down bread like there's no tomorrow, eat sushi like it's air and eat hummus with celery. Jasmine is only allergic to nuts. She carries an epi-pen for that though."
"You mean to tell me that she isn't allergic to gluten, yeast, lactose, fish, sea foods, eggs and celery?"
"Just nuts, I'm afraid."
"I'm going to kill her. I'm going to kill her! Sophie, I swear to God! I am going to-"
"Kill her?"
"Exactly!"
"Daniel, just chill out and breathe, ok? Where is she now?"
"Knowing Samuel, probably in his bed by now."
"Oh. That's... nice."
"In a weird way, it kinda is."
"How so?"
"She's off torturing him and not me. Finally, I get a break from her nagging!"
"I'll bet."
"I don't think she likes me."
"Oh, I know she doesn't like you."
"Thanks for that, Soph."
"You're welcome. Did she at least talk you through our idea for the fundraiser?"
"Not yet. I get that distinct pleasure tomorrow."
"Just keep an open mind."
"For you, of course. But, honestly, Soph, I'm not sure how much more of Jasmine I can take."
"She's not that bad."
"Yeah, but she likes you. That's like half the battle won. When's her flight back to New York?"
"Monday."
"Monday?! She's here until Monday?"
"I'll organise a car to take her to the airport so you won't have to."
"Sod that, I'm taking her and making sure she's on the bloody plane!"
"Haha! So, tomorrow you're discussing the fundraiser, then what? Have you made plans for Sunday yet?"
"We're going to see my grandmother. Jasmine wants to see the collection up close and personal. Grandmother said that it was ok, so Samuel and I are taking her on Sunday."
"Oh, meeting the grandmother already?"
"Apparently. Not that Jasmine and Samuel will ever be more than a one-time thing."
"I think they'd be pretty epic together."
"I think you mean to say that they'd be an epic shitshow together. Plus, there is no way no hell that I'm having her as a sister-in-law. I'd much rather claw out my eyes."
"Be careful what you say, Danny Boy."
"Did you just call me Danny Boy?"
"Yeah... what about it?"
"You haven't called me that in a while. kinda threw me a little. So, you really think that Jasmine and Samuel would make a good couple?"
"Just think of it like this- who is the only person alive that could possibly put your bother in his place?"
"... Jasmine."
"Exactly."
"Well, maybe then she can torture Samuel rather than me, then."
"Don't sound so sad, Daniel."
"I'm not sad. I'm bloody ecstatic!"
"Naturally. So, other than the whole Jasmine thing, how's you day?"
"As good as it can be on Friday the thirteenth. It's getting better, anyway."
"How come?"
"Well, first of all, I'm curled up in bed. Alfie is sleeping on my legs. And finally, I'm talking to you. See, it got way better."
"Well, it's about to get way worse."
"Oh, c'mon, Soph, don't hang up on me. I need you."
"Well, work needs me too. Sorry."
"No you're not."
"You're right, I'm not. Still, you stole my assistant which means I've got to do everything myself. The horror!"
"I'll gladly send her back, if you'd like."
"No, I need to do some stuff for myself. It helps to keep me grounded. I almost forgot how to work the kettle. It was embarrassing."
"Did you get it to work in the end?"
"No, I walked myself down to Starbucks instead."
"Gold star for Sophie Clément."
"I am totally hanging up right now."
"What if I hang up first?"
"I dare you."
"..."

"..."
"I can hear you breathing and I haven't had the call disconnected white noise thing yet. You're still on the line, baboon."
"Shu'up, 'gator."
"Haha, love you, bye?"
"Love you, bye."
"Night, Daniel."
