14. Calls and Secrets

VALENTINA

"Hey guys!" Nia came inside the kitchen just after she woke up.

We all sit in the kitchen for breakfast. We have a small table with six chairs just for us and we like it here more.

"Eww..You are so gross. You should've at least brushed your teeth." Emma said scrunching up her nose looking at Nia.

We all looked at each other and laughed when Nia knowingly hugged Emma tightly after she said that while Emma screamed at her.

"You know I don't care about anything when I'm hungry and I'm hungry right now so I'll eat first and then everything else." Nia said plopping down on a chair and piling up pancakes on a plate.

"Bitch." Emma muttered bt Nia heard it and smirked at her.

" An Amazing bitch though." Nia smirked mouth full of food.

"Alright. So what are we doing today?" Vanessa asked looking at all of us.

"Tomorrow is the fight so I have to practice." I answered.

"But you're practicing since last fifteen days and you're The Nightmare. You dont need the practice. Give it a break Val." Emma said.

"I'm fighting Blade Emma. He is just as good as me if not better. I have to practice. I don't want to loose." I explained and she nodded sighing.

"I'll fight with you." Cody said.

"Cool. After an hour?" I asked and he nodded.

I was in my room reading a book when my phone went off and I answered without looking.

"Hello?"

"Tina."

My phone fell off of my hand on the bed and my breathing became heavier. With shaky hands I took the phone again.

I didn't need this shit today!

Just a day before my fight? Why the fuck is he not leaving me alone!?

I was not even his girlfriend for crying out loud.

"Why the fuck are you calling me?" I hissed.

"To talk to you of course." He chuckled darkly and I felt like punching his stupid face.

"I don't want to talk to you." I said and was about to hang up when I heard his next words making me still.

"Even if its about Mia?" My body tensed and a shiver ran down my spine as I got flashbacks of something I have tried to forget.

"No words now babe?" He asked mockingly.

"What about her?" I asked finally gaining my voice back.

"Do you really think I'll tell you everything so easily?" He asks coldly.

"Then what the fuck is it that you want asshole?" I said with gritted teeth.

"You know what I want Tina." He replied.

"That's not happening." I snapped at him.

"I know it will happen baby. After all you got too close to her in those two weeks. Didn't you? You wouldn't want her to die now. Do you?" He threatened coldly.

What the fuck!

What is he talking about?

"But..she..what are you.." I stuttered not knowing what to say.

"Mia is with me." He said making me gasp in surprise.

How is that even possible? I was there and I saw everything. He must be lying.

"That's not possible." I whispered.

"I'll text you the address and time. I want you there alone." He said and hung up.

I cannot believe this. He is a manipulative bastard and he might be doing this just to get me.

He is so sick. I don't know how I'll tell this to my friends because I haven't told them a part of what happened.

Flashback

Two years ago.

I'm in an unknown room. I don't know how I got here.

"You're awake. I missed you Tina." I look up and see Dante sitting in a chair on the other end of the room.

Talk about being creepy as fuck.

"What is going on?" I asked getting up trying not to freak out.

"You're kidnapped. "He replied staring at me.

"I can see that. Why am I here?" I snapped at him sarcastically rolling my eyes.

"To be with me ofcourse." He smirked making me feel like throwing up.

"That's never going to happen you dickhead." I hissed going towards the door.

"This house is surrounded by guards from every side. You cannot run away." He said.

"Why are you doing this? You were with Vanessa!" I shouted.

"Because I want you. I have always wanted you not Vanessa. I was with her so that I can get close to you but you dont even look at me!" He yelled trapping me between him and the wall.

"That's because I'm her bestfriend. I can't like the guy she is going out with you asshole!" I fumed punching him but he blocked my punch.

"I don't give two flying shits about that. Now you're here so we will be together whether you like it or not." He said coming close to me.

"You wish!" I spat and kicked him where the sun doesn't shine.

"You bitch." He groaned and I ran out of the room and locked it.

I found a stairway and ran downstairs and towards the door. Good thing this looks like a small cabin so its easier to find my way out.

As soon as I opened the front door someone hit me on the head and I fell down.

I looked back trying to see who was it when I saw a man but he wasn't Dante and he pricked me with a needle and my vision blurred and I passed out.

"Are you alright Val?" Em asked.

We were all in the gym. I was practicing with Cody but my mind was still stuck with what happened this morning.

"Yes." I muttered.

"Then why are fighting like you wanna kill Cody? He can't even keep up with you anymore." Vanessa said making me come back to my senses.

I looked at Cody to see him bruised all over but he still smiled encouraging me.

"I'm so sorry." I muttered stopping and moving to where everyone was sitting and Cody came too.

"What's wrong Val?" Cody whispered hugging me from the side.

"He called." I whispered back as tear after tear fell down my cheeks.

"Why didnt you tell us?" Eric said panicking.

"I..I..don't..know..what to do anymore." I stuttered sobbing.

"Please Val..dont be like this. You're the strongest person between us. If you fall apart then what will happen?" Emma said softly.

"What did he say?" Vanessa whispered looking down on the floor.

I'm sure she is still blaming herself for bringing that ass in our life but its not her fault. She fell for him and no one can blame her cuz he always said all the right things.

Who knew he will turn out like this?

"I cant tell you guys." I whispered back wiping my cheeks.

They don't even know about Mia so what am I supposed to tell them?

"What do you mean you can't tell us?" Nia snapped.

"Look..Something happened when he kidnapped me. There was someone else there too. I can't tell you more but he wants to meet me." I explained as much as I could.

"What someone? Why didn't you tell us? And you're not meeting him." Cody said in a stern voice.

"There was another girl there and we got close. She was innocent so he is blackmailing me I guess. Obviously I won't fall for his trap and meet him." I answered and they all signed in relief.

They thought I'll go and meet that useless piece of shit?

"Why didn't you tell us Val?" Em asked rubbing my arms.

"I just didn't want to live thinking about that you know? I thought leaving those memories in that fucking place would be better so I didn't tell you all. I'm sorry." I said looking down.

They all hugged me and I felt better. At least I have them with me in this.

"I'm so sorry Val that you had to go through that." Vanessa said trembling.

"How many times have I told you to stop blaming yourself!? Nothing that happened is your fault but its because of that garbage! And I'm completely fine now. " I exclaimed.

"Yeah I'm sorry. Oops." She smiled.

"Let's go and get some food. Food will make everything better." Cody said and we all agreed getting up.

After dinner I was walking to my room when Eric called me.

"Val..Don't you think you should tell Luciano now? I mean he is the head of Italian Mafia. He can help us." He said slowly and everyone nodded agreeing with him.

"I don't want him to be involved guys. I know what will happen if I tell him. He would put hundreds of security around me. He will get overprotective and I don't want that. I'm damn sure he will do it because I talk to him and I kinda know him and I cant loose my freedom just cuz someone is threatening me." I explained.

"I don't think Luciano will do that to you and also if there is security,its a good thing. We can't afford to get you kidnapped again." Nia said.

"Yeah I agree. He cares about your feelings Val or he wouldn't have been this patient with your stubborn ass not telling him anything." Emma said rolling her eyes.

"Look..I know someone who can help us and I'm going to talk to him now so don't worry." I said.

"Who?" Vanessa asked narrowing her brows.

"Someone." I looked down.

"Oh my God. She is hiding something else too." Emma gasped.

(I don't know why but I imagined this in Phoebe's voice 😂)

"Look guys..I'm not." I said but laughed and I knew I was busted.

"Spit it out." Vanessa glared playfully.

"Okay there was someone else too who ran away with me? I said with a tight lipped smile.

"Oh God. This bitch!" Nia groaned hitting me.

"Hey! That hurt." I laughed.

"Who was that person?" Eric asked.

"I don't know much but he was also very powerful and he was the girl's father and he was a good man. He gave me a number and told me to call him whenever I need him and as this involves his daughter I think I should tell him. I'm assuming she is with Dante." I explained.

"But don't you think its risky Val? You don't even know this man." Vanessa asked.

"I know but the two weeks we stayed in that cell together, I made out that they were good people Vans. Also this involves his daughter so i think its his right to know and I need his help against Dante." I replied softly.

"Alright. We trust you. Talk to him but do not keep secrets anymore." Cody said in a strict voice.

"I won't. Promise." I smiled and went into my room.

I found his number saved in my phone and taking a deep breath called him. After four rings he picked up.

"Hello?" I heard a deep throaty voice I remembered from two years ago.

"Leo?" I said slowly in a low voice.

"Yes. This is Leonardo. Who am I speaking to?" He asked in a professional tone.

"Its Valentina." I whispered and I heard nothing for a second.

"Piccola.. I never thought you would call. Are you okay?" He said softly now.

"Yeah. I'm good." I answered smiling even though he can't see me.

"Now lying is not good sweetheart. What is it? I'm sure you didnt call me just to ask how this young man was doing?" He said laughing in a deep voice and I chuckled at his use of young man.

"Tell me." He said after he stopped laughing.

"He is back." I blurted out.
