POV: GI-HUN
I walked with Jung-bae towards the control room. I have to admit, I was scared as hell. But I couldn't show it. I started this and I must end it.
I walked ahead, my friend followed me.
- Why did you go with me and not Young-il?
- Because You're my friend.
We were silent for a while and then we moved on. I looked away, I saw the guards behind me. I shivered and started shooting at them.
We had been shooting for a good few minutes when we started to run out of ammo. I reached for the walkie-talkie and said to it, "WE'RE ALMOST OUT OF AMMO!" and in response I heard, "So are we.."
This moment seemed to last forever. I sighed into the walkie-talkie. The only hope that saved me was the voice that said "Dae-ho went for more ammo!"
I put down the walkie-talkie, looked at my best friend and then at the guards. As soon as I leaned out a little, they started shooting. I hid around the corner and grabbed my heart. "okay gi-hun you can do it..."
Without a second thought, I leaned out again and started shooting, killing both of them. Jung-bae swallowed hard. He was clearly scared, but who wouldn't be scared in this situation? I don't blame him.. besides, I should have gone here myself, without endangering him. They're worried about him, he has something to live for. And me? No. No one cares about me, I have no one. I'd rather die than let anything happen to Jung-bae. Why am I still here at all?
Lost in my own thoughts I heard a voice over the walkie-talkie
"gi-hun! We are coming to you, we will attack from behind."
It was 001.
No, I can't leave. I have someone to live for. I have him.
"yes, come."
I suddenly froze. What if something happened to Young-il? No. Nothing can happen to him. I will protect him at all costs.
- Jung-bae - I said quietly, he looked at me. -Â I'm going to attack them from behind with Young-il. Can you handle it?
He nodded his head. Yes, let's do it this way. A little optimism will do no harm and will help.
I quickly ran to find the back entrance. I have never run so fast in my life. I turned the corner and saw Young-il with two other people. I ran up to them and yanked them to go to Jung-bae and I would stay with Young-il. They agreed and went.
When the stress finally subsided a bit, I looked at 001. I don't know what I would do with myself if he wasn't there. I want to always be with him, help him.. everything! but I don't want to put him in danger. I smiled slightly at him despite the stressful situation. He also smiled slightly.
I didn't see the guards coming from behind me. I turned around. All I saw was a shiny gun and a hand on the trigger. It was aimed at Young-il.
Without thinking, I grabbed his sleeve and protected him with my own body.
All I heard was a gunshot.
// Sorry that it's so little but lately I've been feeling worse psychically. I promise that I'll try to write more.
Songs I listened to while writing (That's why this chapter is so sad haha):
Fourth of July, no surprises, lights are on
