The dungeon was practically on the other side of the kingdom, so we had to stop in for the night. Magna led us to a cave on the side of a mountain.

"We'll camp here for the night," he declared.

We got to work quickly on a fire and began to warm up our canned dinners. The night was quiet and the sky was clear, showcasing all of its glory.

I took a deep breath, feeling the cold air line my lungs. I can't believe this is the life I get to live...

As the four of us began to settle down for the night, I offered to take first shift for lookout.

"Great, I'll join you," Magna added. "Noelle, Asta, get some rest. We'll wake you when it's time to switch."

They retreated further back into the cave to get some sleep, and I stretched my hands out towards to the warmth of the fire.

After a few moments in silence, Magna looked at me.

"Nice night, huh?" he asked.

"Yea, it's beautiful," I smiled while looking out the entrance of the cave.

"Y/n..." he trailed off, and I turned my attention to him.

"Hmm?"

He chuckled lightly, "Come on.."

"What?" I knew what he wanted to talk about, but I definitely wanted to avoid it.

"You and Cap, huh?"

I began to chew on my lip nervously.

"How long you two been hooking up?" he asked.

"We are not hooking up," I interjected.

His head tilted slightly, "Then, what did I see?"

"That was the first time we even kissed. So, not hooking up."

"Damn, really? I've never known him to move that slow with a girl."

"I've known him for like 2 full weeks..."

He chuckled, "Yea. Exactly."

Whoa, what? What's that supposed to mean?

"He usually just gets in and gets out, you know?" he added.

I just stared into the fire. I mean I figured. Like look at the man? He could get with anyone... But this is different. Right?

He laughed softly, "And I'm guessing you're usually the same way with guys right?"

I glanced at him quickly before staring back at the fire. I mean, yea, I guess I was. I wasn't really one for feelings and relationships. But it's not like I went around just fucking anyone and everyone.

"Y/n," Magna called, and I put my attention back on him. "Have you really thought about this? I mean he'll still be your Captain. Plus, he could get in some serious trouble for hooking up with a subordinate."

"Well, like I said, we're not hooking up." I shrugged.

"And what about when it gets to that point?"

"Look, Magna. I appreciate your concern, but Yami's going to talk to the Wizard King about it before things go any further. He said he'd have it all figured out before we even return."

"What!?" he yelled suddenly.

"Shhh! They're sleeping!!"

"He's talking to the Wizard King!?" he yelled in a hush.

"Well, that's his only superior, right? I mean that's who'd he get in trouble with, so it makes sense."

"Yea, but come on! For a hook up!?"

I was getting really pissed off now. "Not a hookup. Are you even listening or are you just that fucking dense?"

"Y/n... what exactly did he say? What exactly are you to each other?" his eyes were drilling into me.

I hesitated before dropping my voice to a low whisper. "He, uh.. He said he wants me to be his girl. That he doesn't want anything to stand in our way."

I saw a look of shock cover Magna's face as his eyes widened and mouth dropped. "Holy shit... Are you serious?"

I just nodded my head.

"Y/n, I've known the man for a long time. And he has never, and I mean never, been in a relationship. Or anything even close to it."

I looked at him and just shrugged, "Well, that's what he said... Who knows, though. He said we'd talk more when I got back."

Magna was still shaking his head in disbelief. "Finral is going to be so bummed," he said.

My head snapped up at his comment, "What do you mean?"

"Oh come on, Y/n. You're not stupid. You know the way he talks to you. Hell, the way he even looks at you."

"He flirts with literally everyone. I'm not special."

He rolled his eyes. "And what about Asta?" he asked.

Now I was really confused, "Asta and I are just friends."

"Damn, maybe you are stupid."

"Fuck you."

He laughed softly, "Well, I'm happy for you. Yami's one of the best guys I've ever known, and you're just as amazing. You two deserve to be happy."

I smiled, "Thanks, Magna.... We'll see."

"I guess we will."

He slowly got up, "You got this for awhile? It'll be a slow night since we're in the middle of nowhere."

I just nodded.

"Cool, wake us up when it's time to switch. Night, punk."

"Good night, Magna," I called as he walked away.

I looked out into the darkness of the world, drifting my eyes to the stars, and let out a soft sigh.

It's alright, Y/n. It'll all work out...

••••

We were up and leaving before the sun had even risen. Hopefully, we would be at the dungeon by early afternoon.

As we approached a small rock formation, Magna motioned for us to land.

"This is it," he announced. "Stay on guard."

We walked into a small cave one by one and went through a dark tunnel until we entered a large, open cavern.

"Whoa," I mumbled while looking around in disbelief. The cavern was lightly glowing with mana and a river flowed through the center. The walls were lined with different tunnel openings, all leading further into the ground.

"Cool right!?" Asta said while putting his arm around me.

"So cool," I whispered while Noelle just scoffed.

"Alright, kiddies. You know the drill. Be careful. There's lots of traps around here. Let's just find the vault, get the treasures, and get out."

"Right!" Asta yelled while standing at attention.

"Where do we start?" I asked.

"Let's split up in teams of 2. Noelle, you're with me. Asta and Y/n, you start over there." Magna pointed to the far side.

"You got it!" I yelled.

Asta and I started zipping through the hallways and tunnels, avoiding traps that shot out to us.

Asta latched himself to my waist as I flew wildly, twisting and turning and spinning through the choas. Suddenly, we flew into another large cavern.

"This is different than other cavern we were in, right?" I asked.

"I think I'm going to puke," Asta mumbled.

I laughed while I set us down on the ground, "Sorry about that."

"No, you're a really good flyer! I'm just not used to it."

We were laughing when some others I didn't recognize entered the cavern.

"Asta, look alive," I muttered while lightly slapping his shoulder.

He quickly looked up, "Well, well, well. If it isn't Yuno of the Golden Dawn!! How you doin buddy?!"

"Why are you here?" the black haired boy groaned.

"We're here for the treasure of course! Were you guys called here too?!? Just like old times, huh!?" Asta yelled as the team of three dropped in front of us.

A man with glasses and light blue hair rushed up to us, "Asta, who is this?!" he cried while looking at me.

"Oh yea!" Asta threw his arm around me. "Yuno, Klaus, Mimosa. This is Y/n! Our newest Black Bull member!!"

Klaus quickly approached us and bowed, grabbing my hand and giving it a light kiss, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Y/n! I'm Klaus Lunettes of the Lunettes Nobel Family, and Magic Knight of the Golden Dawn."

I lightly pulled my hand away, "Uh, nice to meet you, Klaus."

"A beautiful woman like yourself should not be a Black Bull! I'm sorry for your current predicament!" he cried.

I was giving him a sour look. Who the hell is this guy?

"Don't feel bad for her," the black-haired boy interrupted. "She chose the Black Bulls after getting every Captain except one to raise their hand."

"So, you've heard of me?" I smirked.

"Every Captain raised their hand for Yuno!!" Asta yelled into my ear, and I took a step away from him.

"Geez Asta, that was right in my ear," I groaned before returning my attention back to Yuno. "Well then, it looks like I've heard of you too."

The boy with the four leaf clover grimoire... His presence in the Golden Dawn was almost enough for me to choose that squad.

I looked back at Klaus... I'm glad I didn't though. I'd hate my life.

"You guys here for the treasure too?! Want to team up!?" Asta yelled.

"The Golden Dawn does not team up with the Black Bulls!" Klaus yelled while turning his head. Before I knew it, Klaus and Asta were at each other's throats, yelling and arguing about who knows what.

"Don't worry about them," Mimomsa chimed. "They're always like this." She began to blush. Geez, Asta has quite the fan club.

Suddenly, I sensed a dark change in the caverns mana and I snapped my head in the direction it came from. "What was that?" I whispered.

"What was what?" Mimosa asked.

Yuno had his eyes on me, "You felt it too?"

I nodded. "Asta, play times over! Let's go!" I looked back at Yuno, "So, you guys in?"

"Hmph," he smirked, letting me know we were teaming up.

I hopped on my broom, and Asta quickly followed behind me.

I hastily flew down the tunnel where the aura was coming from, the Golden Dawn squad right behind us.

I smirked to myself. Finally a little action... I was starting to get bored with this whole Magic Knight thing.
