"What the hell!?" I complained while Finral created a portal to take us all back to the hideout.
"What are you wining about?" Yami groaned.
"You couldn't transport us to our mission!? We travelled for like two days to get there!!!" I yelled.
The group started laughing.
"I would love to transport you anywhere, but like Yami saysâ"
Yami interrupted, "Transporting everywhere would make you soft! Long travels build character!" He shot a thumbs up.
"Coming from the dude who gets transported to the toilet," I grumbled.
"Hurry up before I make you fly back to the hideout," Yami called while pushing me through the portal.
I had never transported anywhere before, so I fell through and landed on my face.
"Ouch," I moaned.
"You know, I noticed you're not the most graceful person," Yami smirked while offering a hand to help
me up.
I got up without his help and dusted myself off, "I'm perfectly graceful, thank you."
The others were already headed towards the front door, so I took off after them. I stumbled on my first step and almost fell before catching myself.
Yami laughed loudly, "Yea, I can see that!"
I flipped him off and kept walking.
"Y/n, wait." he called in a semi-serious tone, so I stopped and looked back to him.
"Hmm?" I cocked my head to the side.
"I wanted to talk to you real quick," he rubbed his neck nervously while puffing on a cigarette. "Well, I've never done this before, and I still don't know what I'm doing..."
He continued, "You ok if we hold off on telling everyone? It's just, I'm still your captain and I've got a lot to figure out."
I could tell how nervous he was so I offered him a bright smile while reaching for his hand. "Of course, Yami. I trust your judgment. You just let me know what you decide, and I'll keep following your lead."
"You trust me?" he asked with a light blush on his cheeks.
I lifted up on my toes and kissed him softly on the cheek, "Of course I do. Now let's go. Wouldn't want anyone to get suspicious."
Everything was as normal in the hideout, and it brought a huge smile to my face. Vanessa was passed out. Charmy was eating. Gauche was mumbling some weird stuff about his sister. Luck and Magna were already at each other's throats...
Home sweet home.
"Let's do some team bonding!" Magna yelled from across the room.
"Drinking games!" a couple people called out together.
"Yea, no... you can count me out. I'm going to sleep." I said while heading towards the stairs.
"You've only been awake for like 2 hours! No way you need a nap already!!" Finral yelled.
"Yea, what the hell, Y/n!!?" Magna added. "You have to hang out with us!!"
"Hmm, how about this... If you beat me in an arm wrestling match, I'll stay," I smirked at him.
There's no way I could actually beat him, but if I fake enough confidence, he'll definitely back down.
"Or," Yami interjected. "You're a sword user right?"
I smiled softly, "I am."
"Ok, so if you beat me in a sword spar, you can go take a nap," he was grinning with a cigarette in his mouth.
"No way!! You never offer to fight me!" Asta complained.
I was laughing, "I'll fight you, Asta."
"No, you're fighting me," Yami groaned.
"How about a three-way free for all!?" Magna yelled.
I was actually getting excited for this. My most skilled weapon use was by far with my Blood Sword.
I turned to walk outside, "Let's see if you can keep up."
Asta let out a yell and sprinted out after me.
"I suggested it first," Yami sighed disappointedly as everyone gathered around.
Asta grabbed his sword out of his grimoire while I created mine with blood.
"Well, this isn't going to last long," Magna huffed, already betting against me.
Without missing a beat, Asta lunged at me while swiping his massive blade. I held mine out in defense and prepared for impact.
Asta's eyes widened as he hit my blade and nothing happened.
"B-but, your sword is magic... It should've broken." he mumbled in disbelief while everyone else gasped with shock too.
"Uh-oh." I teased with a smirk, "I hope you have a back up plan."
I went on the offensive and started slashing my sword time and time again while Asta took steps backwards in defense.
I spun around and slashed the handle of his blade, making him lose his grip. As the sword fell out of his hands, I forced a high kick into his chest and he flew backwards against a tree, sliding down to his butt.
"Can't let your guard down, kid," I smiled.
"How'd you do that!?" Magna yelled.
I went over to help Asta off the ground, and he accepted my hand.
"You didn't beat me!! You just caught me off guard,"
he huffed.
It was true. No way could I actually beat him one on one. I just got lucky he was so surprised by my Blood Sword.
"Either way... It doesn't matter why I won, I still won." I winked at him.
"My turn," Yami grinned.
"Mmm, I think I do want to play those games now," I called and everyone cheered, rushing back into the hideout.
"Aww, no fair," Yami whined once it was just me and him.
"Sorry, champ. Maybe next time," I teased.
We walked over to the group of Black Bulls and joined in on the fun. All of us split into two teams and began the challenge of drinking and flipping cups.
After losing a few too many rounds, I gave up and left the commotion. I wasn't much of a drinker anyway, and I definitely wasn't a good loser.
Yami joined me as I sat on a bar stool, "Done already?"
"Eh, I'm not too proud to say I suck at that game," I laughed.
"So, want to tell me how you stopped Asta's attack?"
"Well, I've always been told my Blood Magic has some properties of Anti-Magic, so I was mostly just testing a theory. It worked out though," I shrugged, taking a drink of water.
"Wait really?! Who told you that?"
I was feeling a little tipsy but wasn't gone enough to talk about my past, "Mmm, the people who trained me."
He eyed me suspiciously, "And who trained you?"
"A bunch of really shitty people," I mumbled, wishing I had another drink.
"Alright guys!! New game!" Magna yelled. "Never have I ever!"
I laughed, "You're joking..."
"Nope! You drink every time you've done something. Prepared to get wasted," he teased.
"I'll go first!" Vanessa yelled, "Umm... Never have I ever..." She paused. "This game is really hard when you've done everything."
We all laughed at her. Vanessa wasn't known for her subtlety. She was quite the wild card.
"Oh, I got one!" She called, "Never have I ever been dumped."
I couldn't stop laughing as almost every guy took a drink while none of the girls did.
"No fair!" Finral yelled. "I'm going next! Even this out a little bit... Never have I ever thrown up in public."
Vanessa groaned while drinking, and Charmy followed her lead.
"This is so trashy," Noelle rolled her eyes.
I stared at her deviously, "Oh Noelle... Never have I ever been on a blind date."
Her cheeks flushed pink and everyone laughed while taking a drink.
"Drink up!" I yelled at her and she did so obediently, still feeling embarrassed.
"Oh my turn!!" Asta yelled, "Never have I ever GIVEN UP IN A FIGHT!"
We all grumbled at him. Of course he would say that... It was funny as most the Bulls took a drink.
"Even you Magna!? I expected more!" I teased.
"Y/n, you're not drinking enough," he said while smirking. "Never have I ever... caught the attention of a Magic Knights Captain."
My cheeks turned bright red. Is he calling me out on Yami?! Right now!! What the hell, Magna!? No way I'm drinking!
I chuckled, "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Oh, please!" he yelled back. "Anyone with eyes could see the flirting this morning at breakfast and last night at the banquet!!"
"Seriously! Nozel followed you like a puppy!" Finral added.
"I think I even saw Fuegoleon blush around her!" Asta chimed in.
"Ha! William was watching you the whole time! That's who I was talking about!!" Magna yelled.
All three of them were teasing me like crazy now.
William? Nozel? Fuegoleon?! What the hell... He wasn't even talking about Yami.
I glanced over at Yami who looked seriously annoyed.
"I-I.. N-not true!" I whined.
"Drink! Drink! Drink!" everyone started chanting. I obeyed, throwing back my first drink of the game.
After a few more rounds, people started passing out left and right, so I snuck upstairs, ready to finally get some sleep. I actually hadn't drank in awhile, so I had already sobered up.
"Looks like someone's a crowd favorite."
I jumped and turned around frantically, "Yami! You scared the shit out of me!!"
He chuckled while taking a seat on my bed.
"Um, do you mind? I'm trying to change." I muffled.
"Mmm. Nope. Don't mind that at all," he grinned while taking a long drag of his cigarette.
"Ha. ha. Very funny. Turn around."
He reluctantly obeyed, and I changed quickly. It was true that I was ready to take the next step with Yami, but I was hoping it'd be dark, and I could somewhat hide my scars....
"Okay, I'm finished."
He looked back at me, "You know, I'm planning on seeing you without clothes very soon."
I laughed, "Yea, we'll see about that."
"Enjoy the game?" he asked, his tone changing slightly.
I shrugged, "I enjoyed the company."
"I guess I'm not the only one who has figured out how amazing you are..."
"Yea, well, you're the only that matters," I said while standing in between his legs and putting my arms around his neck.
"Mm. I don't like that other guys have their eyes on you."
"Who? The Captains? The boys didn't mean it. They were just teasing me."
Yami just groaned. "Yea right... I noticed it, too. I just didn't think anyone else did."
"Yami, are you jealous?" I cocked my head with a smile.
He wrapped his arms around my waist, "Well, you are my girl now."
I leaned over and started kissing his neck lightly. "I am. And I promise, you have nothing to worry about... Let me show you" I whispered before kissing his neck again, a little this harder this time.
He moaned slightly then stood up, sweeping me off my feet and holding me bridal style.
"My bed's bigger." he smirked and carried me off into his room.
