Sequel - Part 16(Last Part)

The anniversary celebrations were going on and Manik was interacting with his guests. Now and then,he was looking in the direction Nandini left. He waiting for her to return. Suddenly, Manik's heart began to beat erratically in the same way it had on the day he lost Nandu. He immediately excused himself and went to look for Nandu. He came out the back door, but didn't find Nandu.

Manik tried calling Nandini on the phone and found her phone lying on the floor at a distance. He looked around and found Nandu in the pool below. She was struggling to stay afloat. Manik rushed to Nandu's help immediately.

Nandu had fallen off the railing. But she was lucky that she ended up falling in the outdoor pool below. Harshad and Soha hadn't expected that Nandini would fall like that and panicked. When they saw someone coming out of the hall, they immediately hid themselves. After realizing there plan had failed, they took off their masks and joined the party as though nothing had happened.

Manik jumped into the pool and came to Nandu's rescue. Nandu lost conscious once she found herself in safe hands. Manik got Nandu out of the pool. Nandu didn't gain conscious even after initial first aid. Manik rushed Nandini to the hospital. On his way, he informed his family about the same.

Seeing Mukti tensed,

Soha : "What happened Mukti? Why are you so tensed?"

Mukti told Soha what happened.

Soha : "Nandini is just an employee right? Why are you getting so tensed for her?"

Mukti : "She isn't just an employee. She is my sister-in-law. Nandini is Manik's wife, she is his life."

Soha felt as though the ground beneath her was snatched away.

Soha : "Nandini? Your sister-in-law? When did that happen? When did Manik sir marry Nandini?"

Mukti told Soha about Manik and Nandini. It was only then Soha realized what she had gotten herself into. She began to panic thinking what Manik would do with her if he comes to know that she was responsible for what happened to Nandini. But then she convinced herself that Nandini couldn't have recognized her since she had worn a mask.

At the hospital, the doctor examined Nandu.

Doctor : "Don't worry. She will gain conscious soon. Looks like she was in trauma and that's why it is taking longer for her to gain conscious."

Doctor : "Her legs are badly bruised. She shouldn't put any pressure on her legs till it is healed completely."

Nandini's legs had hit the ground before her body slid completely into water, so her legs were badly bruised.

Manik was relieved. He informed his family and sat next to Nandu holding her hand, waiting for her to gain conscious.

The moments when Nandu fell in the water and was struggling to save herself was flashing in Nandu's mind. Nandu woke up screaming for help. Manik moved closer to Nandini and Nandini hugged him immediately. Manik took her in an embrace.

Manik : "Calm down. You don't have to be scared. You are safe now. You are at the hospital. "

Nandu calmed down.

Nandu : "I am not scared now. I know I am safe in your arms. I know you won't let anything happen to me."

Manik didn't realize at first, but suddenly something flashed in his mind.

Manik : "What did you tell just now?"

Nandu repeated.

Manik : "Does it mean...that...that you got back your memory?"

It was only then even Nandini figured out that he was right.

When she fell into the pool from the second floor, it was kind of a simulation of what happened in the past with her. Her fear of heights and water together made her feel that this incident is as life threatening as the earlier incident. That had triggered her memories of the past and she remembered everything.

Manik and Nandini's happiness knew no bounds when they figured out that Nandini had indeed remembered everything. They stayed in each other's embrace for a long time. Both Manik and Nandini's heart and mind were at peace after a long time.

Epilogue

Manan's family was very happy for them. Now that Nandu had her own family with her, Abhi wasn't sure of what place he held in Nandu's life. But both Manik and Nandini cleared all his doubts, Nandini's family accepted Abhi as part of their family.

When Manik asked Nandini what had happened, Nandini explained everything. Nandu had recognized Soha's voice and informed the same. During further investigation, Soha gave away the information about Harshad's involvement too. Manik was furious. Soha and Harshad had tried to harm his life. He made sure that both Soha and Harshad rot in jail.

A few weeks later, Nandu had recovered fully. Manik was lying down placing his head on Nandu's lap. He had closed his eyes and was fully at peace after a long time. Nandu was thinking about everything that happened.

When a tear drop fell on Manik's face, he opened his eyes. Manik got up quickly thinking that probably her legs were hurting .

Manik : "Jaan, what happened? Are your legs hurting?"

Nandu : "No they aren't."

Manik : "Then why these tears?"

Manik wiped her tears.Manik pulled Nandu towards him and wrapped his arms around her. Her head was resting on his chest.

Nandini : " I didn't remember anything, but you had to suffer because of me."

Nandu : "You waited for me when everyone believed I wasn't alive. It would have been so hard on you when you came to know that I didn't even recognize you. Even after I gained my memory, you had to take care of me."

Manik : "You didn't do anything knowingly, it just happened. Wouldn't you have done the same for me if I would have been in your place and you would have been in mine?"

Nandu : "I would."

Manik : "Who told you I suffered because of you? How is it even possible when you were with me all the time? When you weren't around me, I had your memories. You didn't remember me, but you were in front of me everyday. When you were injured, you were by my side."

Nandu was still sad thinking that they had to stay away from each other for quite sometime.Nandu knew how difficult it would have been for Manik all these days. She also knew that he told everything so that she doesn't feel bad.

Manik : "I have an idea. You can make up for all that time if you want to."

Nandu : "How?"

Manik leaned toward Nandu and kissed her cheeks. Nandu remembered their moments before the accident and thought that something similar is going to happen now. But Manik moved his hands towards her tummy and started tickling her. She couldn't control and started giggling.

Manik : "Like this."

Nandu : "That's it?"

Manik : "You are with me in my arms and you are happy. What more can I ask for?"

Manik : "Stop thinking about what happened in the past. We are together now and that is what matters.

Nandu : "I am really very lucky to have you."

Manik was about to speak, but before Manik would say anything to contradict her statement, she sealed his lips with hers.

Destiny has its own plans. In the past when Manan had decided to separate, they were brought together. When they wanted to be together, they were separated. Someone with no evil intentions had become the reason for Nandini losing her memory . Soha and Harshad had evil intentions, but their plan became a blessing in disguise in Manan's life.

Probably destiny was testing them. Manik stood by his words that Nandini would be the only one who would be ruling his mind and heart. Though Nandini didn't remember anything, her heart still recognized him and sensed a connection between them. Manan had together overcome another hurdle in life.
