Mr. CEO & I1,878 words~10 min read

Aiden's pov

'Mr. Wickers I am officially going through with the lawsuit. Please do the what needs to be done. Inform me very step of the way'

'Sir, I will proceed with the lawsuit. We will be preparing the serve documents'

'Good, I look forward to hearing from you'

'Alright sir'

I cut the call once our conversation had ended. I have finally decided to take legal action against Miranda, Susan, Maxwell and Mr. Douglas.

Mr. Douglas is still denying his involvement with Miranda. He even went as far as to flee the country, but he had another thing coming.

Unbeknownst to him I had and still have security watching him twenty-four-seven. They caught him just before he was about to board the plane.

At the perfect time, giving him enough time to believe he could escape only to be caught when he was inches away from tasting his freedom.

It is rather comical; I can't help but laugh at his stupidity. He is and will always be a foolish and greedy man. He should know better after working in the Morgan enterprise for decades, but I suppose common sense isn't as common as we all believe it to be.

If it was, I highly doubt we would be in the predicament we were in.

Nevertheless, he is on house arrest until further notice.

As for Susan, well she is attempting to look for a new job. What she isn't aware of is no matter how hard she promotes herself as the prefect candidate for the job.

No one will employ her. That is if they know what is good for them, they won't. I made sure of that. The same goes for Maxwell.

As for Miranda she oversees enjoying what Bali has to offer and judging by her attitude she believes she's unapproachable.

For now, she can hold on to that assumption, in fact I want her to.

Still in thought I walked back into the living room where Ava was lying on the couch while her eyes glared at the television. In that very moment she looked to have no care in the world, an expression I have never had the pleasure of seeing from Ava.

When her eyes met mine, I noticed the excitement in them. It was an unusual expression especially in a time like this.

As I got closer her smile increased as if she could not hold her excitement in any longer.

'I've been thinking...with everything that has been happening and me losing my job...'

'Ava you can still get your job back. In actually fact there is no one else that can take your place permanently'

'I know but I don't want it back. As weird as this may sound. I think this whole thing is a blessing in disguise'

I gave her a confused expression. I wasn't sure where this conversation was leading to.

'I know it may sound unexpected and out of the blue, but I think what happened is for the best'

'Are you doing that thing where you try and find the positive in awful situations? because I don't see how any of this is a good thing' I raised an eyebrow at her.

She turned her body on the couch to get a better view of me.

'I know this is not the best or ideal situation. Trust me I'm aware, but it is something that has happened, and I have no choice but to accept it'

She took a deep breath in. Her eyes flickered from one side to the next as if trying to find the right words to express herself.

'I could either dwell in self-pity or see the good in it and do better for myself'

'How do you plan on 'doing better for yourself'?'

'I have decided I want to take the risk and open up my own business'

'Ava?'

'Aiden, this is something I've always dreamed of. In matter of fact thanks to you I can finally achieve this longing ambition of mine'

'From working as your personal assistant, I have gained so much. I was able to gain an insight of how business is run, how I should conduct myself as a leader and businesswoman'

'My salary was more than enough. I was able to send some to my siblings, pay my bills and still have money saved each month'

'because of my hefty paycheck I have surplus amount of money to start a business, a boutique to be more precise. Both online and a store here in the city' she exclaimed as the look of joy spread across her face.

'Ava that's great. I am not going to lie I will miss your presence at the office and your help but who am I to stop you from achieving your goals'

'Thank you sir' with excitement she leaned in and gave me a hug 'I will make you proud. I promise'

'You already do' I replied meaning every single word.

It is sad to admit but I've never came across someone so driven as Ava.

As a CEO of multiple cooperation, one assumes that I have come across hundreds upon hundreds of driven minds, I will admit I have but no one has ever matched Ava's ambition nor hard work.

It is an asset that will get her far in life and I couldn't be any prouder of her as I am now.

'If you need any help. I am always here'

'Thank you so much Aiden. You have done more than enough for me'

'Ava it's nothing at all. what have you gotten so far?'

A huge smile appeared once again on Ava's face as the question registered in her mind 'My boutique will be online and in store'

'I am thinking of selling clothes, bags and shoes' she discloses.

Remembering something else, she added 'I will eventually start a perfume line but that is not official. I have begun to contact a few vendors and I am negotiating price. I was hoping to go on a hunt for a suitable building, but you know' she shrugged looking defeated.

'Ava, it will work out. I promise' I proceeded to wrap my arms around her shoulder as a way of comforting her.

'It will be alright. We can look around tomorrow and I can get an estate agent too if that's what you want' I reassured kissing her forehead in the process.

'Thank you, Aiden. I can't believe this is happening. I have always dreamed of this moment and hoped it would come but never truly believed it would. Now I'm so close that I could taste it'

I laughed at her description of tasting success.

'Do you know what I want to taste' I asked as my eyes flicked down to her lips.

'Let me guess, my lips?' she boldly exclaimed taking me by surprise.

'Someone is starting to embody the sprite of a CEO' I exclaimed still taken aback by her cockiness.

'Well to be one you have to have the mind set of one. As I have the best mentor in the world, I can only learn from the best'

'I am the best aren't I' a boasted feeling a sense of pride with in.

'Now who is the arrogant one now' she raised an eyebrow at me.

Not knowing what suddenly came over me. I leaned forward and continued to do so until my lips met with Ava's.

To my surprise she didn't pull back nor did she flinch. In fact, she proceeded to take it further adding tongue.

Dominating the situation as a true CEO. Her eagerness was the same or perhaps more. It was as if she didn't want to hold back.

I felt her wrap her arms around my neck and while mine was snaked around her waist.

We continued for God knows how long. Both of us fighting yet playfully to see who dominates the situation.

Simultaneously we pulled apart from each other. We were both still in a daze, high off adrenaline.

Ava let out a breath 'That was something else'

I laughed but said nothing.

The atmosphere suddenly became distant. Ava was in her own thoughts while I was in mine.

What kept running through my mind was the kiss and how I craved for more. I also wanted to take Ava out on an official date.

This felt real, it felt right. I didn't want this high I was on to suddenly go away and be left with the same feeling I've felt for years.

I wanted to cherish this moment. This newfound desire. I wanted more, something I've never had to think of before.

I was once okay with a mediocre relationship where I knew we were only in it just because it seemed socially appropriate.

Never truly cared for one another or thought of developing the relationship, if I could even call it that.

It was an agreement, one of convenience and nothing more.

Now I felt something, a feeling I wanted to know more about. A feeling I simply couldn't ignore even if I was to put both physical and emotional effort to suppress.

Up until this point I've only ever deeply cared for my family. Yes, I had compassion for others, but my family were the ones that it was mostly directed towards.

Now I am experiencing something completely different, new yet exciting. I was ready to risk it all to continue to be engulfed in this beautiful sensation.

'Ava, will you have the honors of going on an official date with me?' I will admit I felt nervous uttering those words out but its now or never.

I felt like a schoolboy who had picked up enough courage to ask his crush out on a date but also having a dreaded feeling of rejection.

I felt a pang of regret when Ava's mouth opened only for her to start laughing.

'Aiden why did you have to say it so proper?' she asked still in a fit of laughter.

Confused was the only way I could describe the way I was feeling in this moment. As if reading my expression, she said ' I will go on a date with you. I am laughing because you asked in a very noble way as if we are in Shakespeare's time'

'I shall go on a date with you, my ever so handsome knight' Ava spoke while adding dramatics.

I laughed at her goofiness. I enjoy seeing Ava's multiple sides. It was something I can admit to looking forward to every single day.
