Ava's pov

Lying in a hospital bed is definitely not how I envisioned my day would go. Luckily, I don't have to share a room with other patients since Aiden insisted that I am to stay in a private room.

Which was rather spacious, with a private toilet in the room. There was a small plasma tv also to watch and pass time. There was a hospital bed which I was currently lying on and a comfy chair beside the bed.

There was a window on my left which had the perfect view of the city outside. There was a red button beside my bed for me in case I wanted to call a nurse or doctor.

Beside my bed there was a small bin placed for when I felt the urge to vomit.

On our way here I constantly felt the urge to vomit, I did a few times in bags that were given to me by the ambulance men.

Most times I had to suppress the build-up of bile from my stomach. Aiden constantly made sure I was drinking enough water.

Once we had arrived to the hospital. I was immediately talking into my own room. Mr. Morgan insisted that his personal doctor examine me to find out what was wrong with me.

After my exams, the general results came back that I seem to have had food poisoning. I can't seem to pinpoint where or when I could have had something that was off.

The only thing I can recall eating that might have possibly caused this would be the scrambled egg muffin I had at the cafe with Aiden yesterday but since we had the same food why did I get sick and he didn't?

I honestly don't know, but I would have to go home and bin some food to avoid getting sick again.

We have been in the hospital for hours now. The doctor informed me that I could leave today but I would need to rest in the hospital for a few hours before taking my leave if I pleased.

They gave me a few pills and more water to help stop the effects. The pain I felt previously had reduced significantly but it was still there.

On occasion I would feel the stabbing like sensation on my lower abdomen.

Aiden has refused to leave my side. He had been ensuring I get the best staff and best treatment while I am here.

The only time he has left was to get me more water if he felt the nurses were not fast enough when they were called to the room.

'How are you feeling now?' Aiden asked searching my face for answers.

'I'm much better than I felt a few hours ago but I'm too warm right now'

Upon hearing my complaint, he immediately turned on the air conditioning that was also installed in the room.

Although this was on, I still did not feel my body temperature going down.

'Is that any better?' Aiden asked looking at me for answers ' by the expression on your face that did not improve your condition'

Aiden immediately looked around the room. He got up from his chair and walked into the toilet.

All I could hear was the tap running and his footsteps as he made his way around the toilet. He came out with a wet cloth on his hand.

'Don't worry the cloth is brand new' he informed as he sat down on the small space on the bed.

He pushed my hair out of my face slightly, genteelly placing the cloth on my forehead. Once I had experience the coolness the cloth provided, I let out a slight sign of satisfaction.

Aiden laughed 'I am glad it's helpful'

He continued to do this until my temperature decreased.  While he was in the toilet a nurse I hadn't seen before walked in.

'I am nurse Nicole Walsh. I am going to check you to see if there is any improvement in your state'

I nodded while she came closer to me on the bed.

'How do you feel?'

'I feel much better than I did earlier, I'm in a much better state. I stopped vomiting also' I answered while getting up to sit instead of lie.

She pulled out a thermometer and checked my temperature. She held the device in front of my face and looked at the screen.

She took the device away from my face 'the good news is that your temperature has reduced significantly. It is still not where it should be, but it is an improvement from what the records show of the previous tests.

'You can go home if you please but, I would advise you to rest for a couple of days to regain strength'

'Alright, I will leave you to decide. If you need further assistance don't hesitate to ring'

The nurse took off her gloves and disposed of it. She looked at me then turned her attention to Aiden then left without a word.

'Do you want to stay in the hospital overnight so that you can be attended to if you suddenly feel ill again?' Aiden asked as he turned his attention towards my direction.

'No. I would rather go home'

'Okay let's get you home' Mr. Morgan exclaimed as he began to stand up from the chair he sat on. He helped me as I attempted to get out of bed. I turned my body around placing my feet on the ground I was about to bend down to pick up my shoes, but Mr. Morgan reached them before I could.

He held each shoe as I slipped my feet through them. He grabbed my arm helping me standing up from the bed.

'Do you think we should call a nurse in to tell them we are leaving?' I asked once I was fully up.

'I'll ring now to call a nurse to the room' he said as he pressed the button beside my bed.

Aiden took my bag which was placed beside my bed. He put all my belongs into it.

A nurse came rushing into the room 'would you be needing any further assistance' the chubby young-looking woman asked as she frantically looked between myself and Aiden.

'We decided it is best to leave so she can rest at home' Aiden informed the nurse.

'Okay, let me quickly get the medicine that was prescribed to you by the doctor' the young lady exclaimed in a haste before leaving the room.

'I texted my chauffeur he should be here in the next ten minutes' Aiden informed nonchantenly.

'Posh' I whispered under my breath.

' I heard that. It is not as posh as it may sound' he responded.

All I could do was laugh at his response.

The nurse quickly came back with a bag in her hand 'The instructions for how to take the medicines are in the bag also, there is also instructions of possible side effects. If there are any queries call the hospital immediately'

'Will I be of anymore assistance?' the nurse who I found out from her name tag that we shared the same name.

'No that should be fine'

'All you need to do is sign out in the receptionist desk before you leave' she explained before taking her leave.

'I'm going to quickly use the toilet before I go'

I walked into the toilet and immediately looked at myself in the mirror. I looked to see that my mascara was a little smudge and my hair was messy as a result of lying on the bed for hours.

My face looked extremely drained with my skin looking dull and dry. I looked like I have not slept in days and have been up all night.

Leaving the mirror, I hoovered over seat and released the pee I had been holding in for an incredibly long time. I got up washed my hands with the beautiful vanilla scented soap once I was done, I grabbed the toilet roll and whipped my hands with it and throw it in the bin.

I walked out of the room to see Aiden on his phone.

Hearing me come out of the bathroom he looked towards my direction and said 'you pee incredibly loud'

My face instantly felt hot once my brain fully registered what he had said. It didn't help that he had a smirk on his face this whole time.

I walked up to him and slightly pushed him 'I was hovering over the seat' I desperately voiced out.

The only response I got was laughter.

'Anyway, hoover girl the driver is at the front of the hospital waiting for us' he informed with slight amusement in his voice.

'You are so immature. If you were not my boss, I would get you back'

I am definitely getting him back for that rude statement and not believing that I was hovering to pee. I want him to believe I would do nothing because he's my boss and that would cause him to let his guard down.

'You wouldn't either way'

That's what you think. Sir you are falling right into my trap.

We made our way out of the room with Aiden holding the door for me. I walked through and waited for him to do so. When he was out the door, we both made our way to the receptionist desk.

Noticing we were approaching, the receptionist she looked up from her screen and looked in our direction.

'Hello, are you looking to sign out?' she asked smiling.

'Yes' I responded while standing in front of her. She asked for my name and told me to sign a sheet.

Once that was done, we left the hospital after saying our goodbyes. As we stepped outside the building, I saw a black Ferrari parked in front. The chauffeur noticed us coming and waved. As he did so the doors opened automatically.

Aiden and I got into the back seat. Once the doors were fully open for us to enter.

'Mr. Morgan nice to see you and Ava I hope you are feeling better now?' the suited man exclaimed as he started the car.

'I am much better, thank you for asking' I responded while sitting more comfortably on my seat. The seats in the chair were leather which made it harder to truly relax.

I looked out the window, all that could be seen was street lights bighting up the dark that had come upon us.

'Richmond, just a reminder. We will be stopping at Ava's place first' Mr. Morgan informed the driver once more.

'Alright sir'

'I sent you her address earlier I'm sure you still have it'

'Yes sir. I know where to stop'

-----------------

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well and safe. I know it is increasingly hard to do anything or even think straight with all that is going on. For me personally it has taken such a toll on me and it is okay if it has for you too. All I would say is support your black friends, family, community etc. that are affected by this. You do not have to protest if protesting is not for you, but you can share information, reach out to people you know that are affected directly by the injustice. You can donate to the black men and women that have lost their lives. I just urge everyone to not be silent. You may not be in America but the injustices affect every black person in the world in various forms. I hope you enjoy this chapter. The next one will be out soon #blacklivesmatter
