Chapter 34: Slipping into Stepmom’s BathroomCao Shaoyang took out his pre-prepared exam supplies and checked them again meticulously:

Exam admission ticket.

ID card.

Pens, a 2B pencil, eraser, ruler, scratch paper, and a non-programmable calculator.

He even glanced at the mechanical watch on his wrist.

8:53 a.m. — Seven minutes left until the exam began. Time was flying.

Finally, the bell marking the start of the exam rang, and the proctors began distributing the papers.

The first subject, unsurprisingly, was Chinese. As the exam paper landed on his desk, a mischievous smirk spread across Cao Shaoyang’s face.

He couldn’t help but chuckle internally, wondering what expression Xiao Chun Jiao would make when she saw the task he’d set for her today: completing two of her daughter’s mock exam papers.

“Joy shared is joy doubled.”

As the final biology paper was handed in, the grueling three-year journey of high school finally reached its conclusion.

Walking out of the exam hall under the warm glow of the sunset, Cao Shaoyang immediately spotted the one person who had worried about him most for the past three days.

Approaching his stepmom, he broke into a broad grin and hugged her tightly.

At that moment, the action didn’t seem out of place. Around them, countless other students were also embracing their families, either out of excitement or nervous relief.

His stepmom, Liu Xiaofei, returned the hug, her smile beaming with pride.

Leaning closer to her ear, Cao Shaoyang whispered mischievously, “Stepmom, tonight I want to see you in a cheongsam with white stockings.”

The unexpected tease nearly made her knees buckle.

She twisted his waist slightly in mock annoyance, silently scolding him for ruining such a heartfelt moment with his playful remark. But after all, the exams were over. It was time to relax.

“Fine,” she replied softly. “Consider it a reward for doing well.” Then she added with a sly grin of her own, “But we’re almost out of… supplies at home. Stop by the supermarket on the way back to restock.”

Cao Shaoyang let out a triumphant cheer, wrapped his arm around her slender waist, and twirled her around in delight.

“Ah! Put me down!” Liu Xiaofei giggled, playfully smacking his shoulder. “People are watching!”

But Cao Shaoyang paid no mind to the curious onlookers and spun her a few more times before setting her down.

“Why worry, Stepmom?” he said with a grin. “See? Everyone’s just looking at us with admiration and blessings!”

Liu Xiaofei hesitantly glanced around and noticed the approving smiles from other parents. Some even gave them a thumbs-up.

Relieved, she straightened her posture, holding her head high like a proud swan.  she thought.

It was getting late, and Cao Shaoyang didn’t want his stepmom to be burdened with cooking dinner at home. They found a nearby restaurant and enjoyed a simple yet hearty meal.

Before leaving, Cao Shaoyang even packed an unopened bottle of red wine, the memory of his stepmom’s relaxed state after their last shared drink vivid in his mind. Tonight was a perfect occasion to open another bottle and celebrate.

Returning to their rented apartment, Cao Shaoyang first escorted his stepmom home before heading to the nearby supermarket. He grabbed some snacks and nuts and, passing by a small shelf at the checkout counter, noticed a box of *Okamoto 001.

Without hesitation, he scanned the payment code and added it to his purchase.

When he opened the door to their apartment, he didn’t see Liu Xiaofei.

Cao Shaoyang placed the bags he was carrying on the coffee table in the living room and began looking around.

He first checked the shared bathroom but didn’t find his stepmom. Then, he opened the door to her bedroom, only to discover it empty as well.

However, the soft sound of water trickling reached his ears. Following the sound, Cao Shaoyang’s gaze landed on the frosted glass of the ensuite bathroom in her room. Behind the blurred surface, he could make out a faint, graceful silhouette moving within.

Even though the frosted glass obscured any clear details, the hazy allure was tantalizing, captivating him like a starving wolf spotting prey.

“Stepmom! You’re taking a shower?” he called out.

“Yes,” Liu Xiaofei replied from inside. “Since you finished your exams late and came home later than usual, I decided to quickly rinse off. I’ll be done soon.”

“If you’re bored, just play on your phone for a bit,” she added.

Instead of leaving, Cao Shaoyang quietly shut the door to her room. Instead of returning to the living room, he walked over to the bathroom door where she was showering.

Sheepishly, he called out again, “You know, Stepmom, now that you mention it, I realize I haven’t showered in a while either. Instead of finding another time to wash later and wasting time, why don’t I just join you now? It’ll even save water!”

Without waiting for a response, he quickly shed his clothes. The door wasn’t locked from the inside, and with a swift pull, it opened.

Before Liu Xiaofei could react, Cao Shaoyang slipped into the bathroom, completely bare.
