Erik's POV

The clock had chimed 5 in the morning when I find myself feeling nauseous. I rushed to my bathroom and emptied out what little food I had in my stomach along yellow bile and a brownish-green substance. When the contents of my stomach were now displayed before me and were being flushed away, I struggled to my room. As I passed the Louis-Philipe roon, I found myself begin to stumble and fall. My first instinct was to grab onto something to steady myself which just so happened to be a damaged coat rack, but as soon as I had touched it, I had fallen over, the coat rack toppling over me and pinning me to the ground.

Evangeline's POV

As I slept in my new room, I heard a deafening crash and a loud groan of pain. I rushed over to the door, unlocking it with the key in my pocket and dashed into the hallway.

"Erik? Erik, where are you?"

I listened as Erik gave another moan of pain as I ran towards the living room. As I turned the corner, I saw Erik sprawled out on the floor, his white mask (which covered his entire face), a tiny bit cracked, a coat rack on top of him and struggling to get up.

"Erik, are you okay?"

At first, all he did was groan, but then he wheezed out,

"Why are you and the room spinning?"

I immediately rushed to his side, putting my hand on his neck, as to avoid his mask.

He was burning hot and had a fever. I helped him up, and led him to his bedroom where, at that moment, he threw up on my shirt!

"I'm sorry, mademoiselle. I didn't mean to-"

"It's fine. Accidents happen. Let's just focus on getting you to your coffin and getting this fever to go down."

It took all I had in me to not gag at the smell as I began to help him get to his room. When I was sure that Erik was in his "bed", I went to my room and took off my shirt. It was ruined.

Now, normally I would be pissed off, but seeing how Erik was sick, I calmed down and tried to find something to put on, but with no luck. Finally, I decided to go to the bathroom to try and clean my shirt when, to my surprise, I saw packages outside my door that were all addressed to me. I quickly opened one of the packages to find a white blouse with a brown skirt and a black bowtie and belt (A/N: The outfit is pictured above) along with some black boots.

Seeing that I had no other clothes and that it would probably give Erik a heart attack if I was around him wearing only my bra and pants, I quickly took off my pants, put on the outfit with the boots, and rushed back into Erik's room.

Erik's POV

I felt so weak and so embarrassed. I couldn't stand, let alone walk, without Evangeline helping me and not only that, but I had vomited all over her clothes. Thank goodness I went up top and got her appropriate clothes when I did, or else there would be a problem.

But, what if she didn't see the packages? What if she doesn't like them?

I didn't have time to worry about it any longer as I saw Evangeline come back in my room, wearing one of the outfits I bought for her. She looks quite lovely in that. I've made quite a good investment. I thought to myself as she came closer. In her arms, she held a large bowl of cold water and a rag. She then sat down so that she could reach my coffin easier and began to dip the rag in the cold water, wring it out, and put it on my head.

"Dangit! I knew you getting up was a bad idea. Now you have a fever and you're throwing up." I heard her mutter under her breath. Then, she turned to me and said, "Stay here. I'm going to make you some soup and go up to the market to get some medicine. I'll be right back."

Evangeline's POV

I rushed into the kitchen and began to create some chicken and drop-dumpling soup for my patient and let it simmer as I went back to the safe and got the change from yesterday as well as the map. With everything in check, I grabbed a basket and headed back up top.

* One Hour Later *

After a lot of searching (and asking folks for directions), I finally got the medicine that I needed from an apothecary along with an herbal tea to help settle his stomach. I quickly walked towards the Opera House and used the quickest shortcut to the lair. I rushed to the kitchen and continued to make drop-dumplings and add them to the boiling pot of soup as well as make him a cup of the tea I bought.

With the soup inside a bowl and the freshly brewed tea inside a cup, I put everything on a tray and brought it to Erik's room. As I approached, Erik began to hack and heave as he began to cough up yellow-green phlegm. His mask, still cracked, was still on his face and was making his cough worse since it seemed that his nose was clogged up, making it hard for him to breath. Snot was going down from the holes from his mask, and onto his clothes, making the stark-white mask turn yellow.

I rushed into the living room to get some tissue for him to use,

but when I reached out towards his face, he quickly grabbed my wrist, squeezing it hard.

"NO! NO ONE MUST TOUCH ERIK'S MASK!" He screamed, making himself cough.

"I wasn't going to touch your mask! I was trying to give you a tissue!"

"LIAR!"

He began to shake as his golden eyes began to glaze over with insanity. And not your regular type of insanity. I mean the Oh-my-gosh-they're-about-to-kill-somebody insanity.

With some new, unknown strength, he got up and began to charge towards me, grabbing a red noose in his hands. Crap! He's gonna kill me! What do I do? What do I do?

Keep your hand at the level of your eyes.

As Erik threw the noose over me, I quickly put my hand near my eyes and pushed it off me. Then, I did the only thing I could think of:

I mollywhopped him so hard, I knocked him unconscious.

Yep.

Nurse Angie just mollywhopped her patient.

I hope this doesn't bite me in the butt.

A/N: Oo, kill 'em! How'd you like that?
