Evangeline's POV
I stood there, unable to respond. His voice, although rough and scratchy, still had a musical undertone to it. His pale, white skin shaped his thin, gaunt frame. His eyes were as golden as the sun and looked as if they could glow in the dark. His hair (or wig, I didn't know which), was a pitch black that seemed to match a night sky void of the stars or of the moon. But as much as I wanted to stare at him, I knew I had to answer soon and fast! Even with the mask on, I could still see his golden eyes glaring at me and shining with impatience.
"Well?! Who are you and where do you come from?!"
"Evangeline! My name is Evangeline McKenna. And you are Monsieur Erik, the Phantom of the Opera."
At that moment, I found myself being strangled by the masked man.
Erik's POV
I watched her, annoyed and slightly amused, until she said my name and my title. With some unexplainable strength, I jumped up from my coffin, pinned her against the wall, and unconsciously started to choke her.
"How do you know Erik's name?" I hissed, my hands tightening around her neck.
"You wouldn't believe me!" She sputtered out, scratching my hand to let her go. I made my grip tighter as her ebony skin started to turn purple.
As I heard my "guest" gasp for breath, I started to see images of what would've been my eternal punishment. I started to feel the fires of hell surround me again and for a moment, I could have sworn that I could smell the putrid stench that permeated that place.
I quickly let her go, making her drop to the ground with a thud. As the girl, Evangeline began to cough, I began to feel woozy. The drugs were still in my system and since I had so abruptly got up, my legs were beginning to give way. But before I fell to the ground, Evangeline had rushed over and had my arm around her shoulder, helping me up. She led me back to my coffin, where I just stared at her, amazed.
"Now, I know that you have a lot of questions, but first, I really need you to chill out and keep an open mind to this." She said, helping me inside my "bed".
Evangeline's POV
Erik didn't say a word, but nodded his head for me to continue.
"I am from Atlanta, Georgia USA in the year 2016, about 146 years into the future, and I don't know how I got here. The last thing I remember is that I was driving my car and that I got into a car accident."
He didn't say anything for minute or so. Then, he gave a mirthless laugh before scowling at me.
"You're right. I don't believe you. You are probably just some street urchin who was running from the gendarmes and found this place to hide-"
" First off, I might not be from 'round here, but I've never lived on the streets a day in my life! Second, I have kept the law, unlike you. And third? I don't know how or why I'm here and I don't care if you believe me or not, but until I can get home, it seems that we're going to be stuck here together."
Erik's POV
I was shocked and beyond angry.
How dare she! She came into MY home unannounced and has the audacity to question MY lifestyle!
She's also the one that I sent to save your life. I heard the Voice say.
"I already hate you." I growled in my coffin.
"Well, you ain't no ray of sunshine either, sweetie, so get over it." She sassed back.
Well, this will be fun.
