Chapter 982: Sappy

A handsome face was filled with deep hesitation, and a slight frown

appeared between his brows. His profound eyes revealed a touch of

warmth despite his inner conflict. He maintained this state for a while

before reluctantly unlocking his phone and typing in the familiar

numbers. His clean fingertips held a hint of contradiction as he finally

pressed the call button.

After a few beeps, the call was quickly answered, and after two or three

rings, the other end connected.

A woman's warm voice came through, "Hello?"

"Cami, it's me," he spoke softly.

Camille furrowed her brows slightly and pressed her lips together. "Yes,

I know."

Since he called from his own phone, of course, she knew it was him.

After Camille's response, Ayan fell silent.

The atmosphere quieted down, as if they could hear each other's

heartbeats. Camille asked softly, "Why are you calling me at this time?"

Ayan squinted his eyes slightly and his voice lowered, "What are you

doing now?"

"Getting ready to go to the Simpson's mansion to see Timmy," Camille

replied.

He continued, "Last night was quite late, so I didn't go back to

accompany him. When he grows up a bit more, he'll probably hold

grudges, won't he?"

His voice carried a low chuckle, and a clear sense of amusement

flashed in his brow.

Thinking about Timmy, a small smile tugged at Camille's lips. Her voice

remained warm and gentle as she said, "Probably."

Ayan sensed her hesitance in her tone. His deep gaze revealed a touch

of seriousness as he asked in a slightly husky voice, "How about

having dinner together tonight? There's a new French restaurant. Let's

try it."

Camille also hesitated for a moment. She understood that his invitation

was not just about having dinner because he had mentioned before

when she visited Simpson Group that they should talk seriously about

this matter once it was resolved. They couldn't keep avoiding it.

Camille bit her lip and her voice sounded a bit stiff as she agreed,

"Sure, okay."

“I'll pick you up tonight."

“I can go by myself; just send me the address.”

He insisted, his tone gentle but unwavering, “I'll pick you up.”

While his tone was gentle, there was no room for refusal.

Camille squinted her eyes for two or three seconds, and instead of

refusing outright, she said calmly, "Alright."

With that, the phone call ended. Camille sat on the sofa but remained

motionless and unresponsive. She had known since the day she found

out that Ayan hadn't divorced her that they would have to have a

serious conversation about this matter. However, despite the passing

days, she still wasn't mentally prepared for it. Instead, she felt nervous.

Camille bit her lip, feeling extremely anxious. So, she put on a jacket

and went next door to find Sienna.

Due to the recent incidents, both of them hadn't been going to the

company for the past couple of days. Yessica was there, and she would

handle things well.

After meeting with Sienna, Camille immediately shared her thoughts

and feelings. Sienna listened and only asked one question, "Are you

still angry about this?"

"Of course," there was no doubt about her emotions regarding this

matter. She didn't doubt her feelings about it at all. Even now, when she

thought about it, she found it hard to accept the concealment.

Camille bit her lip, her expression slightly cold, and her eyes revealed a

touch of warmth. She opened her mouth and said softly, "I'm not afraid

to face him; I just don't know how to face him. I even find it difficult to

interact with him now."

"Cami, what you're saying is making me worried," Sienna's expression

turned serious. "Do you still love him?"

"Of course," Camille answered without hesitation. She continued, "But

isn't that a separate issue?"

Loving him was true, but not being able to accept what he had done

was also true.

Camille pressed her lips tightly, and her expression grew colder. Sienna

quickly responded, "I understand what you mean. Love doesn't mean

tolerating everything, right or wrong. That's not an equal relationship,

nor is it an equal marriage. If it's equal, then you have the right to

express what you don't like and can't accept.”

Camille finally smiled and said, "Well, you know me better than

anyone."

"Of course, we're practically inseparable, like closer than half-sisters

from different mothers!" Sienna's cheerful words improved Camille's

mood. The pressure in her heart gradually eased. Sienna continued,

"Since we're going to talk, let's be open and honest about it. Starting

the conversation earlier will benefit both of you. Delaying it can affect

the relationship.”

Camille nodded lightly, agreeing, "You're right.”

"So, how do you plan to approach this conversation?"

“I don't know, I'll take it step by step and see how he responds.”

"Have you thought about it?" Sienna asked.

Camille didn't hide her feelings and replied, "Yes, I have."

In her heart, she had a clear idea of what Ayan needed to do to make

her feel better. While others might view their situation as having all the

pieces for reconciliation, she believed that certain issues needed to be

resolved clearly. Otherwise, this would linger in her heart, and her trust

in Ayan would forever remain in doubt.

Camille bit her lip, her voice tinged with stiffness, and she asked, "Do

you think Ayan will understand me?"

Sienna affectionately pinched her cheek and smiled, "You're still

concerned about his feelings."

"So, I'm a very contradictory person. On one hand, I care a lot about

him, but on the other hand, I have to make sure this issue is resolved.

Being so conflicted, I must be annoying, right?"

Camille was feeling anxious about this matter, especially with Fletcher,

Talia, and Old Simpson planning to return to Hance soon. She wanted

to resolve this before their return so they wouldn't have to worry about

it.

Camille pressed her lips slightly, and the expression on her face was a

little aggrieved, which made Sienna smile: "Annoying? I love you too

much, how can I find you annoying? You mustn't think of yourself like

that. No one will think you're annoying, especially Ayan, who will love

you until his death.”

Sienna has been watching Ayan's love for Camille until now, and she

can clearly feel that Ayan really loves Camille. There are some things

that onlookers can clearly see and feel. Of course, this does not only

refer to what they can see with their eyes. There are feelings that words

can't express.

Camille pressed her lips tightly, her expression slightly dejected. She

looked at Sienna and said, "Don't be so cheesy.”

Sienna laughed, "Embarrassed?"

Camille fell silent, but her earlier anxiety had diminished.

She stayed for lunch at Sienna's place, and they watched two movies

on the couch. They were so immersed in the films that they felt a bit

drowsy. Camille ended up falling asleep on the couch.

Her nap was deep, and she didn't hear the alarm ringing. Even the

housekeeper didn't dare to disturb the two of them. They thought they

needed the rest after watching movies for so long.

However, by the time it was past six o'clock, Ayan had arrived in

Franklin Bay, and he still hadn't seen Camille. She wasn't answering his

calls or replying to messages.

Ayan's face was pale, and he sat on the couch in the villa. He asked

the maid standing nearby with a low voice, "Has she been out since

morning?"

"Yes, she went out early, just said she was going for a walk and called

before lunch to say she wouldn't be coming back for the meal.” The

housekeeper mentioned that Camille had left wearing casual home

attire, but she hadn't specified where she was going. This made Ayan's

expression even worse.

Seeing his displeasure, the housekeeper cautiously asked, "Would you

like to check next door at Mrs. Ward's house? Maybe she went out with

Mrs. Ward."

It was then that Ayan remembered Sienna.

With that thought, he immediately got up and walked briskly towards

Sienna and Rex's villa.

When Ayan arrived at Sienna and Rex's villa, he rang the doorbell. The

housekeeper answered and recognized Ayan, politely greeting him.

Ayan merely nodded lightly and asked in a low voice, "Is my wife

here?"
