Chapter 966: Rejuvenation
Sienna kept pleading, her voice even choked with tears. Their
relationship was so close that they had never had a falling out before.
Their families were shrouded in hypocrisy, which made them cherish
their friendship even more.
Camille replied calmly, âI don't know what to say. Please leave. I need
some time to cool off."
Sienna bit her lip and said, "I understand. I'll go now, but I'll come back
when you calm down. You can tell me how to apologize. I'll do
everything you want. Just please don't be angry, okay?"
Sienna was on the verge of begging for forgiveness.
Camille didn't say much and simply glanced at her before letting Sienna
leave. Her emotions were truly unstable at the moment, and she didn't
want to say anything regrettable in this state. So, it was better to let
Sienna go for now.
After Sienna left, Camille was left alone in the villa. Her mood was as
gloomy as the overcast sky, and she couldn't see a ray of sunshine
through the clouds.
In her heart, she had already found the answers to some questions.
However, at the moment, she was unwilling to confront those answers.
Camille spent a stifling afternoon, feeling as if the weight of the world
was on her shoulders. She didn't even have dinner that evening and lay
quietly in bed.
Back at her own home, Sienna immediately called Rex after leaving
Camille's place. She asked Rex where Ayan and he had gone for
drinks and then drove there herself.
When Sienna arrived at the club, her face was still tearful. She walked
over to Rex, leaned on his side, and spoke with a tone filled with
sadness and guilt. "What should I do? Cami won't even talk to me
anymore."
Ayan, who had already had several drinks, frowned when he heard
Sienna's words. He looked at her with a gentle expression and asked in
a low voice, "Did you tell her that you knew?"
Sienna nodded. "I had to. I couldn't keep it a secret. If I didn't tell her
now, and she found out later, she might cut ties with me completely. I
think there's still a chance now. At least she hasn't cut me off
immediately or blocked me. I think my wrongdoing is still relatively mild,
at most, it's just knowing and not reporting.â
Sienna's words hit deep, and she turned her gaze towards Ayan. Her
voice remained calm as she said, "Mr. Simpson, it seems that you're in
a bit of a tough spot this time. We all understand Cami's temperament;
she rarely gets angry, but when she does, it's not easy to soothe her.
Moreover, she has repeatedly told us that she doesn't like being
deceived. Now, both you and I have committed the same mistake.
Though it may have been well-intentioned, good intentions are only in
our perception.â
When Ayan had first told her about this, she had considered whether
Camille would be upset when she found out. At that time, she had two
thoughts. First, Camille might not be upset because their relationship
had been getting stronger day by day, and Camille might even be
happy. Second, Camille might be upset, but it would only be temporary,
and she would eventually forgive them. However, after seeing Camille
earlier, Sienna realized that she might have been wrong. She
understood that Camille's feelings were deeply hurt by this deception.
For Camille, it wasn't just a matter of deception; it was a betrayal,
especially coming from someone so close to her.
If it were her, she thought, she probably wouldn't be able to accept it
either.
Sienna pursed her lips slightly, and after her words, Ayan remained
silent for a good while. Rex, who was beside them, was utterly baffled.
His voice dropped a bit as he asked, "What on earth are you two talking
about?"
Sienna didn't respond, and Ayan remained silent as well. Their silence
was driving Rex to the brink of frustration.
Rex said, "Ayan, this isn't very fair, you brought me here to have a
drink, but you won't tell me what's going on. Isn't that a bit unfair to
me?"
Ayan didn't reply Rex's words. Instead, he reached out and picked up
the glass of liquor in front of him, downing almost half of it. They were
drinking whiskey, and the alcohol content was quite high. It hadn't been
long since they arrived, but Ayan had already consumed two glasses.
Watching him drown his sorrows in alcohol, Rex was about to continue
questioning, but before he could speak, Sienna reached out and
tugged at him, signaling him to keep quiet.
Rex leaned in closer to Sienna and whispered in a hushed tone, "What
on earth happened? Could it be that he got caught cheating by
Camille?"
Sienna gave Rex a stern look, and he immediately fell silent.
Sienna's voice began to speak slowly, âMr. Simpson, the best solution
would be to be honest, apologize, and accept any punishment. No
matter what conditions she presents, you should agree to them.
Because only in this way can you prevent any changes or harm to your
relationship. Camille is a very stubborn person, and this incident has
wounded her pride, so she may not be able to accept it immediately.â
After Sienna finished speaking, Ayan did not respond. The atmosphere
grew quiet.
Ayan finished the drink in his glass, then stood up from the couch. His
face was cold, and a faint trace of alcohol lingered in his eyes. He
spoke in a low voice, "Thank you. I'll remember your words. I'll take my
leave now. You two can stay a while longer."
Sienna and Rex didn't try to stop him. They watched him leave, and as
soon as he was gone, Rex couldn't resist his curiosity. "What's going
on? Can't even tell me?"
Sienna locked eyes with Rex and uttered just one sentence, "Ayan lied
to her, so you better not lie to me, or you'll regret it."
Even to the end, Sienna refused to say more, leaving Rex utterly
frustrated and unable to pry any further.
After leaving the club, Ayan sat in his car and waited for Kian to pick
him up.
In less than twenty minutes, Kian arrived. He opened the driver's seat
and got in, then looked at Ayan, who was in the back seat, and softly
asked, "Mr. Simpson, are you drinking alone?"
Ayan didn't respond immediately. After a few seconds, he slowly
opened his eyes. His voice was somewhat hoarse as he said, "Have
you found Cora?"
Kian was taken aback for a moment but quickly replied, "Not yet."
Ayan's expression remained cold. His voice, as usual, was indifferent
as he said, "Check Camille's call records on her phone. Filter the
numbers she's contacted in the past two days. Do it quickly, and give
me the results within half an hour.â
Kian nodded and said, "Okay, I'll check right away."
Ayan sat in the back seat, waiting, his invisible pressure making Kian
feel extremely stressed. However, he didn't dare to delay or be
negligent. Kian checked all the people Camille had spoken to in the
past two days and eventually identified an unfamiliar number.
Kian immediately conducted a search through the telecommunications
company to find the owner's name and identity of that number.
After receiving a message from the telecom company, Kian's face
remained unchanged, and his gaze remained on Ayan. He spoke in a
low voice, "Mr. Simpson, we've found something.â
Ayan didn't fall asleep, he was just resting with his eyes closed. Upon
hearing Kian's words, he didn't open his eyes but asked, "Tell me."
"Cora is currently using a purchased phone, and it's confirmed that it's
Cora who's using it. The purchase records couldn't have known Mrs.
Simpson's phone number.â Kian spoke in a low voice and then
continued, "Mr. Simpson, what should we do now?"
