Chapter 938: Blackmail

“Then cut off his way out and force him to show himself."

"Mr. Simpson, what do you mean?"

Ayan let out a light hum and said indifferently, "Who does he want to

find the most right now?"

After such a big incident, Preston was filled with anger and hatred.

Wasn't there something he wanted to vent?

Upon hearing this, Kian immediately understood, but still said

somewhat uneasily, "Mr. Simpson, will this be dangerous?"

“It's not real. Since he could have Quintus find someone similar to

Cora, can't we do the same?"

"I understand what you mean. I'll arrange it now. I'll try to make Preston

show up today, preferably get caught.”

“No need to get caught. As long as he has no way out and is like a

trapped dog, it's enough. If he's really caught, what's the point of this

game?" Ayan said casually.

In fact, apart from the project related to Simpson Group, there was

enough evidence to prove that Preston was behind it. As for the matter

with Louise, there wasn't direct evidence that it was him.

Relying solely on Sean's words only led to suspicion towards Preston,

but there wasn't direct proof.

So, even if Preston were to be caught, it wouldn't be enough to

completely crush him.

That wasn't Ayan's intention. He wouldn't easily send someone to jail

unless he intended to make sure they never got back up. Otherwise, he

wouldn't want to make it so easy for them to make connections with

people inside and use them later.

After finishing the call with Kian, Ayan casually put his phone down.

Glancing at the time, he thought that Camille should be at her

company, so he drove straight to her workplace.

With so much happening, everything had been spread across the

internet, and Camille had already seen these messages under Sienna's

"sharing."

However, Camille and Ayan hadn't had a serious conversation yet, so

when Ayan arrived at Camille's company, she was a bit taken aback.

With a surprised expression, she asked, "Why are you here?"

Camille had been discussing a design competition with Sienna. They

were preparing to go to the school to select assistants in the coming

days. Seeing Ayan suddenly appear, she found herself a bit

dumbfounded.

Ayan's deep eyes fixed on her, and he replied with a faint smile, “I

came for a work inspection.”

He was dressed in a black suit, and even without saying anything, his

presence seemed to carry an intangible sense of authority.

Sienna immediately stood up and looked at the two of them. "Alright, I

won't disturb you."

She quickly picked up her laptop and moved away.

After it was just Camille and Ayan left, she looked at him with a faint

smile. “Mr. Simpson, how come you didn't give me any advance notice

of your visit?"

"Sudden surprise, just checking on what you're up to."

"An inspection then?"

"Yes, an inspection. Are you up for it?"

Ayan approached her, taking her hand and guiding her towards the

office.

After closing the door gently, the two of them walked to the sofa and sat

down. Camille asked, "So, is there something specific you came for at

this time?"

He didn't answer directly. He just gazed at her, his eyes revealing a

gentle and elusive tenderness. His voice was low and soft as he spoke,

"Have you seen the news online about Preston?”

His question was direct, without any beating around the bush.

Camille wasn't surprised by this topic. She met his gaze evenly, her

expression calm and her voice devoid of emotion as she said, "Yes, I've

seen it."

Not only had she read the news, but she had also seen the intimate

photos of Preston and Zoie. Even Sienna had mentioned that Zoie had

some resemblance to her. While they might not look similar when side

by side, a quick glance might lead one to think there was a

resemblance. However, Camille felt a sense of revulsion when she

learned about Zoie's connection to Preston.

Therefore, when Ayan brought up the topic, Camille's expression didn't

turn pleasant. Her gaze was cold and detached, and she said, "I don't

want to discuss this.”

Ayan perceived her emotions, and something within him seemed to stir,

giving rise to an indescribable feeling.

Camille pursed her lips and explained, “Not wanting to discuss it

doesn't mean I have any reservations. I just find this topic

uncomfortable, so I'd rather not dwell on it."

Ayan nodded lightly. He wouldn't press further and simply held

Camille's hand gently, intertwining their fingers.

Camille softly asked, "So, did you come all the way here just to talk

about this?"

"As an aside," he replied calmly.

The discussion about Preston was still on the rise, and internet users

were seeking answers from Simpson Group's official accounts, trying to

gain more attention for the matter.

Under Kian's direction, Simpson Group released a statement: "Our

president and his wife have a good relationship. Please refrain from

making baseless speculations.”

The statement didn't confirm or deny anything. Netizens who couldn't

get a direct response from Simpson Group took to cursing Preston.

Especially considering Preston's two-timing situation, with Molly being

pregnant and the Walker family having treated him well, he was being

labeled as ungrateful.

Camille and Ayan sat together, scrolling through these comments on

their phones. Their faces remained mostly expressionless, but the

complexity of their emotions was evident in their eyes.

Ayan's lips parted slightly, and he spoke softly, "He's being hunted

down throughout Flento now. I'm concerned he might become

desperate. So, if he contacts you proactively recently, don't pay him

any mind. Don't listen to whatever he says, alright?"

She replied, "You've said this twice already, I understand. You don't

need to say it again.”

Camille was a bit helpless; Ayan had already mentioned this twice.

Ayan lightly pinched her cheek, and with a gentle gaze, he said, "I need

to remind you because people can resort to desperate measures when

they have no other options.”

"I understand," Camille answered softly. Then she asked, "Should I

have my mom take Timmy to the countryside?"

"No need, there are bodyguards with him." Preston currently couldn't

come to Hance, as he would be arrested on sight. So, he couldn't do

much for the time being.

As Camille didn't seem inclined to discuss the matter further, Ayan

didn't press. After spending some more time with her, he returned to his

company.

Sienna immediately hopped over. She looked at Camille eagerly and

asked, "Why did Mr. Simpson visit? Did he come to talk to you about

Preston? Tell me quickly, is there any inside information? Did Mr.

Simpson have a hand in Preston's downfall?"

"Don't make wild guesses,” Camille reminded her lightly.

Sienna said, "I mean no harm. I'm just genuinely curious. It's surprising

that even someone like Molly, who has been lost in love for so many

years, could be so clear-headed. I have to say, I really admire her for it.

A single blow has exposed all of Preston's wrongdoings, and now she

seems more like a real woman!"

Molly had always been quite spoiled and pampered at home. So, her

actions were quite shocking.

Camille didn't respond; she just felt a bit heavy-hearted. With so much

happening, she was genuinely starting to feel annoyed. Particularly,

while she wasn't directly involved in this matter, the photos of Preston

with Zoie made her uncomfortable.

Camille asked with a faint tone, "Do you believe he's truly infatuated

with me?"
