Chapter 811: Chatting

Kian immediately shone a light on Ayan, scanning him for any visible

injuries. Apart from some marks on his black suit from the struggle,

there were no obvious harm.

Ayan immediately walked towards the direction where Camille was held

captive, with Kian following closely behind. His voice was sharp, "It's

late, so finding Austin might be difficult. But we're far from the

downtown of Hance City. Immediately block all the exits nearby. And

has Logan been notified?"

"He's been notified. And he's outside waiting with some people.”

"Good, let Logan's men help do it."

Kian nodded, giving the necessary instructions. Then he accompanied

Ayan to find Camille.

The two people guarding Camille had already slipped away upon

hearing the commotion, but Ayan wouldn't let them off the hook.

Ayan found Camille in a pitch-black room. She was crouched in a

corner, her eyes covered, and her mouth gagged. Her hair was

disheveled, and her casual clothes were covered in dirt and dust from

the struggle.

She sat there huddled, motionless. Because her face was covered, her

expressions and eyes couldn't be clearly seen, but Ayan still sensed

her fear and terror.

He approached with large strides, pulling her into his embrace, while

Kian and the others waited at the door, not intruding.

Camille stiffened at Ayan's touch, her whole body freezing.

Sensing her unease, Ayan immediately spoke gently, “It's me. Sorry, I'm

late.”

Ayan removed the blindfold and untied the towel from her mouth. Due

to being covered for too long, and with the darkness of the night,

Camille couldn't see clearly for a moment, but as soon as she realized

it was Ayan, her moods improved slightly.

Her voice was hoarse as she spoke, "I..."

"I know everything, don't speak for now. Let's leave this place first." He

directly carried her in his arms and walked out. Kian, seeing this,

immediately draped the coat he had in his hand over Camille. The coat

was in Ayan's car, as he had prepared it just in case.

Ayan's face darkened, while Camille buried her head in his embrace.

The two of them silently walked out of the unfinished villa, all the way to

the front gate where his car was parked. He supported her to sit in the

back seat and sat beside her. He instructed Kian, "Let's head back to

Maple Leaves Mansion."

Camille didn't speak during the journey because she was exhausted.

Despite being confined to a room all this time, she couldn't rest at all,

as her emotions remained tense. As a result, she was particularly

fatigued.

Even now, she didn't dare to truly fall asleep. She felt a strong sense of

insecurity.

On the way back to Maple Leaves Mansion, Kian's phone didn't stop

ringing. He continuously received calls from the security team. They

had captured a few people, but there was still no news about Austin

and his assistant.

Several people escaped before they arrived, dispersing in different

directions.

So, no one knew where Austin had gone?

But the search was ongoing.

Upon returning to the vicinity of Maple Leaves Mansion, Ayan carried

Camille out of the car. Initially, she intended to walk on her own, but

Ayan refused.

He said, "Let me carry you upstairs, give me a chance, hmm?"

His voice was very gentle, the kind of tenderness that was full of

concern.

Ayan held Camille in his arms and said to Kian, "I'll leave it to you to

handle things. Call me once you find him."

"l understand."

Kian nodded, watching the two of them walk into the hallway before

driving away.

Ayan carried Camille all the way back home, gently placing her on the

sofa, and then said, "I'll go run a bath for you. Take a bath, have

something to eat, and get a good night's sleep, okay?"

Camille nodded, and as Ayan went to the bathroom to fill the bathwater,

she remained motionless, lost in her own thoughts.

All the memories in her mind kept replaying like movie scenes, starting

from the moment she was deceived out of Maple Leaves Mansion and

forced into a car. She was in a constant state of fear and nervousness.

Those people covered her mouth and blindfolded her eyes. She would

resist and they would slap her hard. Even now, her head and cheeks

still throbbed with pain.

But she didn't tell Ayan because she didn't want him to worry too much.

So she didn't say anything.

Everything was buried inside her heart.

The only thing she could be grateful for was that irreversible things

didn't happen, but she was still deeply scared because she overheard

the conversation between those two men. If Ayan had been a little later,

they might have done it.

What would she do then?

How would she face Ayan? How would she face Timmy?

Although none of it was her fault, the humiliation couldn't be undone.

Even if it wasn't caused by her, she couldn't pretend that nothing

happened.

The more Camille thought about it, the more agitated she became. She

clenched her hands tightly, not even hearing Ayan calling her several

times after he finished running the bathwater. Seeing her pale face,

Ayan's eyes also reflected a deep concern. He stared at her with his

dark eyes, then slowed his pace and gently walked to her side, pulling

her into his arms.

Camille was slightly startled and felt her body stiffen. Ayan whispered,

“It's okay, go take a bath. I'll wait for you outside. Take a warm bath and

relax a bit, okay?"

Camille nodded and let Ayan lead her to the bathroom, still holding her

hand.

Ayan didn't enter the bathroom, he just stared at her and asked softly,

"Do you need any help?"

His tone revealed a playful seriousness.

Camille shook her head, and a faint smile appeared on her lips. "No, I

can manage on my own."

"Okay, I'll be outside. Call me if you need anything, hmm?"

He was exceptionally considerate and gentle, which made Camille feel

much more at ease.

After taking a simple bath, when Camille came out, Ayan had already

ordered takeout dinner. It was already past 8 p. m.

Camille hadn't eaten lunch, but she didn't feel particularly hungry

because all her body's reactions were distracted by other emotions.

Now, smelling the delicious food, she began to feel a bit hungry. Ayan

served her half a bowl of chicken soup. "Have some soup first.”

“Thank you." Camille's voice was a bit hoarse as she reached out and

took the soup. She took a sip, and it tasted good.

During the meal, Ayan spent most of the time serving her, taking care of

her appetite. Although she hadn't eaten much all day and had been

through a lot, her appetite wasn't great. She only managed to eat half a

bowl of rice and didn't want to continue.

Seeing her set the bowl aside, Ayan asked with concern, "Doesn't it suit

your taste? Should I ask Auntie to come and cook for you?"

Camille shook her head. "I'm full. Hurry up and eat, you haven't had

dinner yet!"

Ayan nodded and gently pinched her cheek, then started eating.

He ate quickly and with elegance. In fact, watching him eat was also a

kind of enjoyment.

After Ayan finished his meal, he tidied up the takeout box and placed it

aside, then looked at Camille and asked, "Do you want to rest or watch

TV?"

Camille met his gaze and said, “Can you chat with me?"

Ayan nodded, took her hand, and sat her down beside him. Then

Camille spoke softly, "Is it because of Cora that Austin wanted to use

me to threaten you?"

Ayan didn't deny it. He said, "That's mostly the reason, but it's not

entirely because of Cora. There have been long-standing grievances,

and he couldn't directly do anything to me, so he came up with a way to

threaten me through you. Don't worry, I will pay back what he did to

you. I won't let Austin go."

Camille remained silent, leaning quietly against his chest.

His voice deep and low, he asked, "Why aren't you speaking? What are

you thinking?"

She pursed her lips and asked the question that had been suppressed

in her heart for a long time. She asked, "Ayan, is Cora important to

you? If you hand her over to Austin, he won't have any reason to target

you anymore, and you can save yourself a lot of trouble. Why don't you

do that?"
