Chapter 809: Provocation
Austin couldn't conceal his smirk as he said, "What can you do if I
change my mind? Both you and your wife are in my hands, and I can
do whatever I want."
"Is that so?"
Ayan showed no fear and made no attempt to struggle, still under the
control of Austin's men.
However, these simple words, spoken by Ayan, made Austin feel
somewhat uncomfortable. It was an indescribable sense of
strangeness, as if Ayan wasn't affected by Austin's actions as much as
he had anticipated.
Austin's face suddenly turned into a cold smile, and he said, "Ayan,
when you kicked me out of the project, you should have anticipated this
day. Did you really think I would let it go? Of course not. What you did
to Cora has caused me significant losses, and I, Austin, will make sure
to settle this score.â
"So, how do you plan to settle it?"
"Of course, by exposing you completely, letting everyone see your true
face. You and Simpson Group are nothing more than wolves in sheep's
clothing. Let me tell you, I'm not the only one who wants to see you fall.
Once you're down, Simpson Group will be like a dead whale, slowly
devoured by other fish until nothing is left, and the Simpson family will
be nothing. The same goes for you, Ayan."
Austin felt a surge of excitement, envisioning the scene where he
completely defeated Ayan. Who else could control Ayan like he could?
Whatever he wanted Ayan to do, Ayan would have to do it.
The taste of this power was truly exhilarating.
All the pent-up resentment in his heart was released at this moment,
but it was far from enough. Everything was just beginning.
He handed the apology letter, written by Ayan, to his assistant. A smile
covered his face, and his eyes remained fixed on Ayan, just a few steps
away. He calmly said, "Send the apology letter personally written by Mr.
Simpson to the PR department of Simpson Group. Within five minutes,
I want to see that apology letter posted at the top of Simpson Group's
official social media account.â
After speaking, he walked up to Ayan, smirking and reaching out to pat
his cheek. But Ayan turned his head to avoid the touch, emanating a
chilling aura. His voice turned cold as he said, "Mr. Simpson, give your
secretary a call. Time waits for no one.â
Saying that, he directly pulled out his phone from his suit pocket and
handed it to Ayan, signaling him to unlock it.
Ayan didn't move, so Austin said, "Mr. Simpson, it's better for you to do
what I invite you to do. My men can be rough, and I'm concerned they
might harm you. It wouldn't look good if that got out.â
Ayan seemed to have no reaction, his distant indifference glaring at
Austin as if he didn't care at all. Austin found this look extremely
annoying. He had tolerated it before, but now, with Ayan still giving him
that gaze, he was getting agitated.
He said, "Ayan, why are you looking at me like that? Are you feeling
resentful? Even if you're not happy, so what? Don't forget, you're in my
hands now, and so is your wife. Show me a little respect, or I can't
guarantee what I might do."
Maybe it was because Austin mentioned Camille, but one thing is
certain: Ayan wasn't looking at him. However, there was a peculiar
expression in his eyes that couldn't be described.
Was it fear?
Or apprehension?
No, it was neither.
It was an indescribable defiance that words couldn't express.
Ayan unlocked his phone and dialed Kian's number, following Austinâs
instructions.
When Kian received Ayan's call, he was already at the spot where Ayan
had separated from the bodyguard, but this call made him feel uneasy.
Ayan couldn't possibly make a blatant phone call after entering the villa
area.
If there were any arrangements, they would communicate through
messages.
If he made a call, it would easily give away their position and be
discovered.
So when he saw Ayan's call, he hesitated for a moment before
answering, "Mr. Simpson!"
âIt's me," Ayan's voice was low.
Kian inquired, "Do you need something?"
âI'm going to send you an email now. Log in to the Simpson Group's
official blog and pin that email at the top."
"Alright."
Kian didn't know what the email was about, but he agreed immediately.
However, from Ayan's composed tone, he sensed something was
amiss.
He was convinced that Ayan had found Austin, but Austin had control
over him. Ayan's calmness and tone remained unchanged. It was as if
he were speaking normally.
But this kind of normalcy was abnormal, and Kian had learned this from
being around Ayan for many years.
After the call ended, Kian stepped out of the car. He quickly arranged
the setup, realizing they couldn't wait any longer if Ayan was under
Austin's control.
He instructed a few professionally trained bodyguards to enter from the
side doors and search without being detected by Austin's people. With
the fading daylight, it would be less suspicious to enter at this time.
After organizing everything, he watched the bodyguards depart, and
soon after, he received the email on his phone from Ayan.
Seeing the photo of a handwritten apology letter, Kian furrowed his
brow involuntarily.
Wasn't this Ayan's handwriting?
He frowned slightly, silently reading the contents of the handwritten
apology letter. Then, he understood its meaning.
Austin must have forced Ayan to write it, but Austin had no idea how
skilled Ayan was in calligraphy.
The handwriting that Ayan used to sign the contract in Simpson Group
is his own handwriting. Bit at other occasions, he would write by
imitating othersâ handwriting.
Only Kian knew about this because he had paid attention. However, he
never directly asked Ayan about it, and naturally, Ayan knew that Kian
was aware.
Kian was someone he trusted.
That's why these shortcomings in his work would only be revealed in
front of him.
Kian couldn't help but feel relieved. Even though Ayan had lost his
freedom and choices under Austin's control, he could still find a way to
turn the situation around.
Without wasting any more time, Kian quickly logged into the official blog
and posted the apology letters.
Then, he contacted the PR department to reach out to Twitter
executives, ready to control and delete any messages related to this
incident.
As soon as the apology letter was posted, Austinâs assistant saw it
immediately.
He promptly reported to Austin, "Mr. Norman, Simpson Group has sent
it."
Austin took the phone and glanced at it casually, then revealed a
satisfied smile. He handed the phone to his assistant and walked
leisurely towards Ayan. He said, "I accept Mr. Simpson's apology, but
that's far from enough. Mr. Simpson still needs to tell me where my wife
is. What do you think, Mr. Simpson?"
Ayan was well aware that Austin wouldn't be satisfied with just that. He
would demand step by step. The conditions he mentioned were only for
that moment, and once they were fulfilled, he would make new
demands.
Ayan knew Austin well and understood his thoughts.
Ayan smiled faintly, a hint of indifference flickering in his eyes. His
laughter caught Austin off guard, and Austin asked in an annoyed tone,
"What are you laughing at? What's so funny?"
Their eyes locked, and since his hands were being controlled by two
people, he didn't bother struggling or moving. He was just feeling a bit
tired with standing a long time. The room was brightly lit, and the sky
outside was almost dark.
He started to worry about Camille and couldn't help but wonder if Kian
understood his intentions.
He remained silent, and Austin questioned him again.
Unable to bear it any longer, Austin kicked him fiercely in the knee.
Ayan couldn't dodge it and endured the blow.
Their gazes clashed, and Austin's eyes were filled with ferocity and
anger. "Ayan, what do you think you are? How dare you defy me?"
