Chapter 789: Enjoyment

The person immediately sent what they had investigated to Kian.

After Kian looked through it, his expression immediately changed. He

didn't call Ayan but drove directly to Maple Leaves Mansion.

At that time, Ayan was resting with Camille, so when Kian rang the

doorbell, there was no response. Kian had no choice but to make a

quick phone call.

After the second call, Ayan finally answered.

Kian anxiously said, "Mr. Simpson, are you with Mrs. Simpson? I'm

outside the door. Can you open it? I have something to discuss with

you face-to-face!"

Kian's tone was unusually serious. This had never happened before. In

the years he had been with Ayan, except for special circumstances

where he would go directly to him personally, usually anything would be

directly reported over the phone or through messages.

But now he came directly to the door. There must be something serious

happening.

Ayan's voice was hoarse as he responded with an "Hmm," then he

lifted the covers and got out of bed.

Camille was also awakened by his phone call. She opened her eyes

and looked at him, asking, “Is something wrong?"

Ayan replied softly, “Kian wants to report some work issues. You just

rest. I'll talk to him first.”

Camille nodded without thinking too much.

Ayan came out of the bedroom and casually closed the door. He

opened the door to let Kian in, and the two of them went to the balcony.

Kian's face was somewhat grave, his eyebrows tightly furrowed. He

said, "Mr. Simpson, this is the video I just received. Take a look."

Kian carefully opened the video and handed it to Ayan. Ayan reached

out and took it, his gaze fixed on the screen of the phone.

As he watched the footage playing in the video, a layer of deep

wrinkles appeared between his eyebrows, and his face immediately

turned gloomy and cold.

Even after the video ended, Ayan's eyes remained lowered.

Kian whispered, "Mr. Simpson, this is clearly a deliberate frame-up.”

"So what if it's a deliberate frame-up? Do you think the public will

believe this video once it spreads?"

Ayan's voice was cold, and his dark eyes revealed a chilling

indifference.

Even if he knew it was a frame-up, he could find a way to clarify the

situation, but would other people believe it?

No, they wouldn't.

They would only think that if someone accused them wrongly, couldn't

they do it to others in the same way?

Not everything is based on preconceived notions. Sometimes, the

proactive party may become passive and make the whole situation

irreparable.

Ayan remained silent, his face extremely low, and Kian whispered, "Mr.

Simpson, what are we going to do? You can't just sit there and do

nothing, can you? Now that it's clear that this is about us, should we

pass the buck to someone else?"

Ayan's eyes narrowed slightly, with a lot of emotion in his eyes, and his

voice was indifferent: "What's the difference between this and the

people who poured dirt on us?"

He would not allow such a thing to happen, so naturally he refused.

Ayan fell into silence again and stared outside. Kian had no idea what

to do at the moment.

After a long silence, Ayan finally spoke, "You go back to the company

and have the PR department prepare for public relations in advance.

Don't let anyone know about this video."

Kian nodded in agreement but had a question, "So, should we just do

nothing?"

"We don't know who the other party is. We are in the light while they

are in the dark. Since we are the only ones who have found out about

these things, we should do something, right?"

"Okay, I understand," Kian responded.

With the arrangements made, Kian prepared to leave.

But just as he was about to leave, Ayan suddenly spoke again, "Find a

time today to contact Logan away from everyone else and give him the

video."

Logan had always had dealings with the Simpson family, and Ayan had

just thought of something. Even though he was the passive one, he

couldn't just do nothing, right?

Kian expressed his surprise, "If we hand it over to Logan, won't the

police find out?"

"Just leave it to him, he knows how to handle it," Ayan replied.

Kian nodded and then left.

After Kian left, Ayan stood on the balcony and lit a cigarette. His face

looked extremely grim. Initially, he thought this whole thing was directed

at Camille, but now he realized it was directed at himself and the

Simpson Group.

However, he felt a slight sense of relief. Although knowing that Simpson

Group being the target would make the whole situation difficult and

challenging, as long as it wasn't directed at Camille, she wouldn't be

harmed or affected by public opinion.

As for him and the Simpson Group, he was innocent and wouldn't bear

this blame for no reason.

But this time, who was orchestrating everything from behind the

scenes?

Preston?

Austin?

Or maybe they were coming at him together?

Apart from these two, he couldn't think of anyone else.

Ayan stood on the balcony for a while. When Camille came out of the

bedroom, she saw him but he didn't respond to her.

If she didn't recognize his figure, she would have doubted if it was

really him.

She walked over and stood beside him until she reached his side and

stopped. He still didn't notice her presence.

Camille said in a calm voice, "What are you thinking? I called you

several times, but you didn't respond.”

Ayan finally snapped out of his thoughts upon hearing her voice. His

gaze fell on her face, revealing a touch of warmth in his cheeks. He

instinctively hid all the coldness and complicated thoughts that had just

consumed him. He reached out and stopped Camille's shoulder,

whispering, "I was thinking about work, I didn't pay attention, but I

assure you, I didn't do it on purpose. So you can't think of me badly.”

Camille frowned slightly, realizing what he meant by "bad review" this

time. She tilted her head and chuckled, "Does anyone else will have

the same request of you?"

"Well, I do, so would you consider it?" Ayan asked.

"Mr. Simpson, are you mistaken about something? You're the one

pursuing me, not the other way around. So why do you demand an

answer from me? It's hard for me not to deduct points from you for

this.”

Camille suppressed her laughter and started to threaten him.

He, on the other hand, remained unfazed. He pressed her against the

edge of the balcony, leaning closer, his voice gentle and soothing, "If

you don't agree, I don't mind doing something else to make you

willingly say yes."

"Mr. Simpson, that's a threat. I will think of you in a bad way now."

"But you're also threatening me."

"Well, can't I enjoy the special treatment of being pursued?"

"So you've been enjoying being pursued all this time, which is why you

haven't given me an answer, right?"

He stared at her with his dark eyes, without blinking, his voice gentle

but devoid of much emotion, making it hard to tell if he was angry or

displeased.

Camille met his gaze and asked softly, "If that's the case, would you be

angry?"

"So it's really true?"

“Yeah, probably!" Camille didn't hide it, because every girl enjoyed the

feeling of being pursued. Sienna had told her that.

Being pursued was the most beautiful start to a relationship.

With her past experiences, she actually felt a little anxious about her

future with Ayan.

There wasn't much sense of security, but rather an indescribable

emptiness. Love was something intangible, invisible, and could only be

felt with the heart.

Ayan chuckled at her teasing and said, "So if you accept me as your

boyfriend, and then you can't enjoy being pursued anymore?"

"It's not the same.”

"How is it different? Worried I'll not be as good to you as now?" Ayan

gently touched her hair, pulling her into his embrace. He said, "If you

want to enjoy it, go ahead. I won't rush you or force you, but don't take

too long, okay?"

Camille pursed her lips, feeling a bit uneasy. What did he want to say?

What if it took too long?

Would he stop pursuing her?

He'll give up?

Camille blinked lightly, a slightly cold and indifferent expression

appearing on her face.

The man's voice continued in her ear, deep and hoarse, "Otherwise, if I

wait too long and you end up getting tired in the end, who'll be the one

to suffer, hmm?"
