Chapter 751 Seriousness

My Ex-husband Begs Me Back1,118 words~6 min read

Ayan shook his head, as the steering wheel was no longer in his hands

and he didn't feel safe with Camille driving at this time of day. It wasn't

that he didn't trust her driving skills, but there were a lot of cars on the

road during lunchtime and he was worried that another car might hit

them. If he had control of the steering wheel, he would have swerved

without hesitation and not given any opportunity for other cars behind

them.

Apart from this concern, Ayan also thought about something else. If

they managed to shake off their pursuer this time, what about next

time? Instead of wasting time dealing with it repeatedly, it would be

better to figure out their opponent's motives first! The only person who

could be following him and Camille at such a risky moment besides

Preston was hard for Ayan to imagine.

They arrived at the restaurant by car and parked near the roadside

where they saw a black car parked not too far away. Ayan glanced over

before taking Camille's hand and walking into the restaurant together.

Ayan said to Camille: "Don’t be nervous; relax a little bit. We're not

tracking anyone else here; we're not the ones who should feel guilty or

nervous."

Camille nodded: “I'm not nervous; I'm just curious."

Ayan couldn't help but smile: "Curious about what? Do you want to

know who is following us?"

"Well... don't you?"

“I don't need to think about it because I can guess who it is,” said Ayan

while looking down at Camille with a faint smile on his lips.

The restaurant was bustling with people coming in and out; however,

they had reserved an elegant table near one side. After ordering their

food, Ayan asked casually: "Why did you invite me out for dinner today?

Is it because you wanted to thank me for supporting you?"

“I don't need your thanks," replied Camille bluntly without any courtesy

or formality since she didn't see why she should thank him anyway.

Ayan kept an eye on her throughout dinner while also keeping watch

around them in case anyone looked suspicious or strange around

them. He narrowed his eyes slightly as he gazed intently at her before

asking again: "Are you really not going to tell me why you suddenly

invited me out for dinner?"

“Isn't it too late now?" joked Camille playfully as she blinked her eyes

mischievously at him while finding him cute in an unusual way.

Looking back into those bright brown eyes filled with curiosity made

Aya's heart skip beat momentarily before replying softly:"If I were

someone bad then wouldn't have already taken advantage of your

invitation by now? What could knowing my reason do if even running

away isn't possible anymore?"

Camile laughed lightly feeling amused by how innocent yet smart Ayen

sounded right now."You're right,” she agreed wholeheartedly enjoying

herself more than ever before since meeting Ayen.

His handsome profile emerged with a slight smile, and his deep eyes

stared at Camille without blinking. He said, "Alright then, I won't run

away. You're not going to sell me off, are you?"

“That's hard to say."

“Don't you leave anything for yourself?"

She pretended to ponder, furrowing her brows in thought. After a

moment, she said in a calm tone, "Why not save the best for

ourselves?"

"Am I not the best?"

"Who knows?"

Ayan snorted lightly and said, “Is there anyone better than me? The

best is right in front of you, keep a close eye on it and don't let

someone else take it away easily."

"Can you just take it away easily? Then go ahead and take it!"

Camille has no intention of holding on.

Ayan laughed out loud and instantly seemed like a loyal dog reaching

out to hold her: "I won't leave, no one can take me away. I'll wait for you

to lead the way, okay?"

Camille slightly pursed her lips and looked at him with a hint of disdain

for his worthless appearance.

But I am truly happy in my heart.

Because she can clearly feel Ayan's changes towards her, the kind of

changes that are not just words but can be seen in his actions and felt

in his heart.

Before, he had no liking or love for her at all, but now she can feel

Ayan's affection.

Camille doesn't know whether to feel happy or not?

But to say that there was no joy is definitely false, just like when the

clouds finally parted and she saw the moonlight, but only she knows

how difficult this journey was and what she experienced. It was such a

hard road to walk on and she had indeed considered giving up at one

point. She had truly made up her mind and planned to cut ties with this

person.

But his persistence made it impossible for her to refuse. Perhaps God

felt sorry for her loving this man for so long and didn't want her to let

him go like this.

So let her enjoy the taste of being chased, but also let her begin to

torture him, after all, out of the mix, sooner or later to return.

After the dishes were served, the two of them chatted and ate at the

same time.

The number of people in the restaurant is also slowly decreasing

because Camille can go to the museum later in the afternoon, so there

is no rush. Ayan naturally doesn't hurry back to the company while

accompanying Camille.

After eating almost everything, Camille finally spoke up and said,

"Preston called me today."

"So you made it up to me by asking me out to dinner?" He took the

word as if it had been planned.

Camille smiled and said, "Do you want to accept compensation?"

"Not accepted.”

"Camille, are you being cruel? I'm already jealous and you're still

making me guess why he's looking for you? Tsk!" He made a light

sound, as if he was serious.

Camille sighed helplessly. "Be serious.”

Only then did he stop playing around. He squinted his eyes and said

indifferently, "What did he want? Did he ask about Sean?"

"How do you know?"

"If he called just to chat about boring topics, you wouldn't have let me

know." He used a pun that made Camille's eyes dodge away slightly in

guilt. But he didn't expose her and continued gently staring at her as he

spoke: “This is the only thing that could make him look for you right

now, so it's not hard to guess."

Camille suddenly felt bored after going around in circles only to find out

that they had already guessed it.

"So what are your plans?" Camille asked.
