Chapter 678 Strange

Yessica was a little confused, but nodded.

So all day Camille was not disturbed by anyone until the end of the

work day. But instead of rushing back, she planned to ask Sienna out

for a meal.

She called Sienna and was quickly answered.

But the person on the other end of the phone seemed a little tired, and

her voice sounded less than energetic: "What's wrong?"

"What's wrong with you?" asked Camille, "Not feeling well?"

Sienna: "I caught a cold.”

"It's serious?" It sounded like it was serious.

Sienna didn't have the strength to respond, and her voice was still a

little hoarse: "Well, sort of, what are you going to do?"

“Nothing, I want to ask you to have dinner together, since you have a

cold, then take a good rest. Do you need me to some and see you?"

"No." Sienna immediately shot back the next second, her reaction a

little too strong for Camille to ask, "What are you so excited about?"

Sienna said, "I'm not excited. I just don't want you to bother making a

trip, and I just have a cold, it's not a big deal, so don't come over."

Camille didn't think much of it and just assumed she was telling the

truth.

After that, she told her to get some rest and then ended the call.

Sienna dropped her phone and felt her hand break. She didn't get out

of bed today. She was so tired she felt like she was going to die.

No, just after finishing the call with Camille, the culprit came in with the

soup.

Because they were at home, he was dressed simply with a light-

coloured home clothes, his hair is also a little messy, and at the

moment his gentle look was also much more serious than when he

usually teased her.

He put the soup bowl on the bedside table, then sat on the edge of the

bed, leaned over and kissed Sienna's cheek, and asked in a low voice:

"Wake up and have some soup? I made the chicken soup myself, don't

you want to drink it?"

"Get out!"

Sienna spat out a word indifferently.

Rex laughed, he carried her up from the bed to his arms along with the

quilt. He said, "You have not eaten anythign all day. Now it's dinner

time, drink some soup. Later I'll make you something else?"

Sienna looked at the two-faced man with a cold face, and the words

came out of her mouth, "Rex, you are a bastard.”

Hearing her scolding, Rex's smile deepened and his voice was tinged

with a low chuckle as he said, "Well, yes, I'm a bastard, so do you want

some chicken soup made by a bastard now?"

Sienna listened to his answer and became even more angry. Why was

he the one who made the effort, but she was the one who suffered?

When she thought of him coming back last night and pressing her

against the wall like a madman, she was totally angry.

But she would not mistreat her own stomach. Naturally, she finished

drinking a bowl of soup. Seeing her in good appetite, he asked again,

"Want more?"

"No." Sienna shook her head, then nestled in his arms with her eyes

closed, her whole body weak and unwilling to move.

Rex held her like this until she was about to fall asleep, when he

suddenly reached out and took her hand to his mouth and kissed it

gently, asking in a gentle voice, "Sienna, do you want to go to Campole

with him or stay with me in Hance City?"

His voice was as gentle as water, not giving her the slightest pressure

or coercion, as if he was just asking her if she wanted to have dinner

later.

Sienna did not answer right away. She quietly maintained a pose

without any response.

Her eyes were closed and it was hard not to feel like she was asleep.

But Rex's voice didn't stop as he continued, "I agree with whatever

decision you make, only this time I won't be there for you. I'll just have

to wait for you in Hance City and can wait for you forever."

He was willing to wait for Sienna to come back of her own accord, but

he wouldn't look for her anywhere else.

If they always chase each other like this, sooner or later there will be

great problems, which will also give Sienna a feeling that no matter

where she goes, he will eventually go to find her.

His words made Sienna open her eyes. She pursed her lips lightly, her

voice sounded a bit choked: "Do you mean that if I leave, it's

completely over between us?"

Rex subconsciously narrowed his eyes, the flickering emotions under

his eyes making it difficult to see what he was thinking at the moment.

But in the next second, his low voice slowly ringing out as he said, "A

complete end? You'd better not think about it either, we started when

you said it, and end it as you wish? Sienna, I won't interfere with you if

you want to go about your business, but you have to come back or I

won't let it go."

The man's words made Sienna clench her teeth, and her eyes

glistened with moisture, but she didn't speak again for a long time.

They just kept silent. Although there was no verbal interaction, they

were now very clear about each other's mind.

Such honesty made it clear that they both understood that whatever

they encountered, it was better to talk through it.

At least they could know each other's heart, then there would also be

some courage about their relationship.

Camille, who did not meet Sienna, eventually drove back to Maple

Leaves Mansion, but to her surprise, there was no news from Ayan all

day, no phone calls, no messages.

Obviously this was what she wanted. But when it did, there was an

inexplicable sense of loss in her heart.

She came home and cooked noodles. The more she ate, the more

flavourless she felt, so she simply put down her chopsticks and sat in a

chair and stared.

What the hell does he mean by that?

Camille realized as an afterthought that she had been manipulated by

Ayan and immediately stopped thinking about it.

Such a feeling made her feel frightened.

She can't be trapped once again, can she?

Camille stared blankly until her cell phone rang, snapping her back to

reality.

It wasn't Ayan calling, but Grace.

Camille picked up immediately and Grace's voice came, "Cami, is it

convenient to talk about work right now?"

"Well, yeah, you say it."

"Mr. Burris invited you to help appraise the design. The day after

tomorrow it will be submitted to the Simpson Group for the project team

to vote for a final decision. I want to ask, when you are free, can you

come over to Armstrong Corp? Or I can send it to your email directly?"

"Send me an email, I'll read it later and get back to you tomorrow

morning?"

"Good, then you contact Mr. Burris directly, because Mr. Burris is

personally in charge of this matter.”

"Well, OK."

After a brief chat about work, Grace mentioned, "Cami, come home for

dinner if you have time lately, mom and dad miss you too."

Grace was still trying to ease Camille's relationship with Brody and

Page, because it was better for the family to get along.

But instead of just saying yes, Camille said, as always, "We'll see!"

To the Armstrong family, she could never get close. Her feelings for

them were indescribable. It was like the most familiar strangers.

Sometimes she asked herself, "Am I the Armstrong family's biological

child?"

Camille didn't want to talk about it anymore, and Grace couldn't force

her, fearing that Camille would be disgusted and wouldn't want to hang

out with her.

After the phone call, Grace immediately emailed Camille the design,

who stayed up late to check a few of them and make some changes,

and then wrote down detailed suggestions after looking at the rest the

next morning.

It was almost noon when Camille finished, so she sent it directly to

Horace.

Horace contacted Camille first after reading it and expressed his

gratitude, but also said, "Armstrong Corp will have a design project

next, would you like to work with me?"

Camille felt it a little abrupt and did not say yes directly, but simply

responded, “Let's talk about this after Armstrong Corp's confirmation,

for now it is still our current project that is the priority.”

“Yes, after this project is over, we will talk about the design

cooperation.”

Camille said yes, and the two didn't talk much because Camille had

business to attend, so she still needed to have a thorough chat with

Yessica.

Camille met Yessica for lunch to talk about the state of the company

since Preston left and plans in the next.

She took the elevator downstairs and then met Kian.
