Chapter 630 Playing Dumb
"What do you mean?" Cora said incredulously.
Camille indifferently said, "If you want to eat, then sincerely apologize,
let someone record a video of you admitting being a sinner. Do not get
to me every time. I am very busy with no extra time to pay attention to
such trivial matters. As for whether you want to eat or not, it's your
business."
After saying that, Camille hung up straight away.
Cora almost collapsed. She thought she just needed to apologize and
then she could eat. Instead of starving, she of course chose to
apologize. It was just a word. She did not have to fight with herself to
get over it.
She was expecting Austin to find her and Ayan to let her go, but she
realized that Camille alone had dominated her for so many days and
made her feel desperate.
But she told herself over and over that she couldn't just break down,
and she had to get out of here.
So after getting off the phone with Camille, she had to take it upon
herself to say to the bodyguards and maids staring at her, "Record a
video for me and send it to your Mrs. Simpson."
She had no ripples under her eyes, like a person who had lost her
vitality, without any life left.
She said to the camera word by word very clearly: "I am a sinner. I am
sorry to the Simpson family. I should not have gone to the Simpson
family to take Timmy. I should not have hurt the old Simpson because
of my own selfishness. It was I who pushed old Simpson to the ground.
Everything is my fault. I am sorry to the Simpson family. I am to blame
for everything, I'm sorry!"
She repeated it over and over until the bodyguard who was videotaping
said, "It's enough.â
Because she just repeated those sentences, more recording did not
seem to be of much use.
The bodyguard immediately sent the video to Camille. Watching the
video, Camille only slightly frowned, and then emotionlessly replied:
"Don't worry about her. One meal every two days is OK, and you don't
need to give her too much water. A bottle of 500 ml mineral water is
enough!"
Cora wanted to get by in this way. Camille couldn't let her get away with
it.
But also will not let her just starve to death, she has not suffered
anything yet, and I do not know how Ayan side actually plans to deal
with her, so for the time being, this is first.
Camille put her phone away and ignored Cora for the time. She leaned
back in her desk chair and looked out the window, still thinking about
what happened today and the phone call last night.
Her mind was a little heavy, and before she could figure out what to do,
the evening meal arrived as promised.
The appointed time for the meal was 7:00 pm.
Ayan came over to pick her up after work.
The two first went back to the Simpson's mansion to see Timmy,
because the evening after dinner time should not be early, so Camille
plans to live directly over the Maple Leaves Mansion in the evening, so
want to come back to accompany Timmy.
The mother and son had been close. Timmy nestled in her arms and
didn't cry.
Ayan reached out and cupped his cheeks. The little guy immediately
held his mouth and grunted in aggression. Camille immediately
removed Ayan's hand: "Don't do that to him."
Timmy then gently stroked the spot that had just been touched by Ayan,
and only then did he happily hug Camille as if he were pleasing her.
Seeing it, Ayan snorted with some helplessness: âThe son is still not as
sweet as the daughter.â
The words were highly suggestive, but Camille acted as if she hadn't
heard them.
Talia said, "I feel the same way, and Cami's sweet, unlike you. It's hard
to meet you for once."
Ayan frowned and said, "Now this is compaining about me?"
"Why ask if you know?"
"Hey!" Ayan shook his head helplessly, stared straight at Camille and
said meaningfully, "So can I change my son to a daughter too?"
Camille was still silent, staring down at Timmy in her arms, playing
dumb.
Talia laughed silently, the deep meaning under her eyes was obvious,
and she said meaningfully: âThen let's see if you have the ability.â
Ayan wasn't talking, just staring at Camille without taking his eyes off.
The two accompanied Timmy for a while and then leave.
When they arrived at the hotel, Mr. and Mrs. Bell had also arrived. And
Grace and Horace also came together.
Several people came to the room one after the other, but only Mr.
Baxter, the guest of the evening, had not yet arrived.
Once everyone was seated at the table, the waiter came up with tea,
and Horace said lightly, âThe host hasn't arrived yet, but those of us
who are guests are here first.â
Horace's words were naturally full of displeasure, followed by Dan's
sneer.
Mr. Bell also looked at the time on his watch several times, and Mrs.
Bell said, "Didn't we agree to meet at seven o'clock on time? Why is he
late?"
Mr. Bell's face was slightly stiff, because he was about to introduce
everyone as a middleman, and he was the only one who had met this
Mr. Baxter from Norman Group, so Mr. Baxter's late arrival also
embarrassed him.
But Mr. Bell had always been gentle and elegant, so even if he was
very upset but always kept a light smile on his face.
He said, "I'll call him!"
After saying that, he got up and prepared to leave the booth to make
the call, but only just got up from the chair, the door of the booth
opened from the outside.
Two men walked in from outside, one after the other. The leading man
was tall, and his white suits flattered him.
The secretary following him explained in a low voice: "Sorry everyone,
our Mr. Baxter is late because of the traffic jam. I hope you can
understand.â
The crowd did not respond and their eyes were on the man with the
mask.
Ayan and Camille looked slightly frozen, the former's eyes staring at
him unenthusiastically, the latter's eyes shining with stunned shock.
The man just lightly swept all the people at the table, his eyes
overflowing with apologies: âSorry, I'm late. Because it's the first time
we meet, I prepared a little gift for everyone. I hope you can forgive
me."
Mr. Bell greeted him and seated him. "Sit down first!"
"There's no rush, I'll deliver the gifts to everyone first."
After saying that, he first went to Mr. and Mrs. Bell and presented gifts,
which were Mr. Bell's favorite tea and Mrs. Bell's suitable high-fashion
scarf.
Followed by Ayan again.
He walked up to Ayan with a gift and offered it with both hands: âI know
Mr. Simpson doesn't lack anything, so I purposely gave Mr. Simpson a
pen, and I hope I can work smoothly with Mr. Simpson for future
cooperation.â
Ayan did not reach out. It was Kian who immediately came to take it,
and then Ayan smiled: "Sure."
Ayan narrowed his eyes slightly, and their dark eyes looked at each
other for a moment before Mr. Baxter took the lead and moved on to
give the gift to the others.
He gave Camille a set of drawing tools suitable for Camille, which was
of a famous brand. Most people who were present and didn't know
exactly, but just laughed: "It seems that Mr. Baxter has tried to do his
homework and knows what Camille is suitable for."
Mr. Baxter did not say anything, just smiled, then walked to the seat
and sat down.
Ayan followed, and he called out faintly, "Mr. Baxter?"
Mr. Baxter also responded immediately, âI'm here, Mr. Simpson, if you
have any orders, please say it."
Ayan didn't have any polite greetings, but just asked expressionlessly,
"Since you've entered the room and are also the person in charge of
Norman Group who arranged to come over to join this project, what
does it mean for you to wear a mask?"
From the time he came in until now, he had been wearing a mask.
At this moment when he heard such words, he just smiled and said,
"Sorry Mr. Simpson, I know it's not very polite, but I have a scar on my
face, and I'm afraid of scaring you all, that's why I didn't show my face
directly.â
"So will it always be like this for our future collaboration?" Ayan
continued to pursue the question.
