Chapter 579 Staying Overnight
Since there were only tomatoes, eggs and a little bit of green
vegetables at home, she could only make simple tomato and egg
noodles.
But it tasted and looked good.
The two sat at the table, and Ayan looked at the noodles in front of him,
his handsome face revealing a smile.â This is the first time I've eaten
the noodles you made."
Camille didn't respond, just said, "Eat up, or it'll stick together.â
When she finished, she had already picked up the spoon and started.
Ayan's always ate in an elegant way. Even eating noodles would not
appear rude, but it was also not that kind of girly feeling. Anyway, it was
in line with his appearance and grace.
Ayan was a good guest and didn't even leave any soup over.
After putting down the bowl, he volunteered, "I'll do the dishes."
"No, I'll be fine on my own."
âYou cook the noodles, I'll do the dishes, fair enough.â Having said that,
he had collected the dishes from Camille's hand, then got up and
walked to the kitchen.
Maple Leaves Mansion's kitchen was open, so Camille could see
everything from the dining room.
In her memory, he never did the housework.
But at the moment, looking at his back washing dishes, she would feel
no sense of contradiction again.
She withdrew her gaze and looked no further. Sienna also sent a
message at that moment, asking, "It's raining non-stop, he's not looking
for a sleepover at this time, is he?"
Camille didn't know how to reply it.
Camille turned off the phone and put it down, lightly pursed her lips and
thought about what to do.
With only two bowls and two pairs of chopsticks, Ayan washed them
quickly, then returned to the living room.
Camille stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window in the living room,
watching the soybean-sized raindrops hit the glass window with a not-
so-subtle sound. She looked back at Ayan and asked in a light voice,
"Are you going to have Kian come and pick it up later or are you going
to go by yourself?"
She thought about it again and again and decided to make it clear,
because she didn't want him to stay overnight.
If it was the Simpson's mansion, she felt she had no right to impose
requirements on him. After all, it was the Simpson family's place, but at
the moment it was in her own place and there were only the two of
them, so Camille didn't want him to stay overnight.
Her words made the atmosphere suddenly heavy, Ayan narrowed his
eyes slightly and stared at her. The tight frown was also obvious. He
said indifferently: "Are you driving me away?"
âI don't mean that, it's just that it's late, there's work tomorrow, you
should go back early and rest!"
She was cold and distant, just as close to saying, "Ayan, you can leave
now."
Ayan looked at her, his thin lips pursed into a straight line. He smiled
indifferently, his voice was deep, and his eyes seemed to see through
the deepest part of her heart. "It's still raining heavily, and it's not safe
for Kian to come over at this time. If you want to rest, can you lend me
your living room for a while?"
He walked towards her and stood by her looking out the window.
Because of the rain, it was dark outside and even the lights were dim.
He stood beside her, his crisp, fresh breath filling the air, making
Camille a little less than comfortable.
She turned and walked aside to pour a glass of water, distancing
herself from him, and then said softly, "As you wish."
It was raining heavily, so it would indeed be inappropriate to insist on
kicking him out, and it was not safe for him to drive in this weather.
Camille went back to her room, closed the door behind her and locked
it behind her.
She took a shower and leaned over the bed to read for a while, during
which time it was very quiet both inside and outside the house, as if
Camille was the only one home.
Probably because she knew there was someone out there, Camille
couldn't help but get distracted when she read, and even if she forced
herself to focus, she couldn't really continue reading
She closed the book and looked at the time. It was past ten o'clock, but
the rain had no intention of stopping.
At this time, she could not open the door again to rush him, so she
could only stay in the room, so in the end she did not know exactly
when she fell asleep.
The next morning, Camille was awakened by the alarm clock. She
washed and changed before coming out, then saw Ayan sitting quietly
on the couch, and got up immediately after seeing her.
His clothes were a little wrinkled, his hair a little messy. There was
breakfast on the table. He said, "It stopped raining too late last night, so
I stayed here. I went downstairs and bought breakfast. You can eat it,
and I'll go to the office first."
Then, without waiting for Camille to say anything, he had already
grabbed his coat and walked out the door.
He just left like that?
Camille stood there for a long time without moving, thinking about what
he just said. In fact, he could have just left without saying anything or
doing anything. Why did he wait until she came out to tell her
specifically?
Did he want her to know that he slept in the living room last night?
Camille's face scowled, an unspoken emotion spreading through her
heart, as she had to go to a meeting with the Simpson Group, so she
quickly gathered herself and ate something to go out.
Today's meeting was mainly to discuss the second phase of the design
draft. Camille's business skills were always satisfying, so basically
there were not too many problems.
All of them voted unanimously to settle except for Cora who did not
attend.
The session was over in just half an hour.
After that, Ayan left sooner than usual, and it was learned from one of
his assistants that he was now leaving for a business trip to Dane City.
The assistant escorted everyone to the elevator and out of the Simpson
Group building, where Camille said goodbye to Mr. and Mrs. Bell and
got into her car.
Dan also came over and knocked on the car window at that point and
he said, "A lift?"
"OK." Camille nodded, and only after Dan got in the car did she say,
"The fare is by direct transfer."
Dan smiled and took out his phone to transfer "0. 01"
Camille almost kick him out of the car if it wasn't for the project.
Camille had his hands on the steering wheel and was staring at the
road, so he didn't notice Dan's gaze on her, and it was a long time
before Dan asked, "Is Master Simpson away on business?"
"Didn't you just hear it?" Everyone had heard it, so why asked her
again?
Tang smiled and said, "Where did Master Simpson go on a business
trip?"
Camille wrinkled her brow in displeasure and glanced at the man
beside her. She said expressionlessly, "Is there something wrong with
you asking for so much detail?"
Dan laughed.
He had to say that Camille was so smart that she could change the
subject and give him the trouble.
He said, "Just curious, after all, Master Simpson rarely travels, doesn't
he?"
"Do you need me to ask Mr. Reid to put together a copy of his work
schedule and send it to you?" Camille pursed her lips slightly, her face
growing even more cold: "What are you trying to say?"
Dan looked at her unruffled and said in a low voice, "Just curious, why
didn't Master Simpson check in with you when he went to Dane City to
handle the partnership with Sophia? It feels a little less like you two are
a normal couple and more like a partnership.â
Camille stared ahead without changing her face. She kept driving
without any ripples, and waited until the traffic light stopped the car and
turned her head to look at Dan. She said, "So?"
She raised her eyebrows, and her look was familiar to Dan.
Where did he seem to have seen that look before?
But for now he couldn't remember.
Camille did not look at him any more, but continued to stare forward,
her voice indifferent: "Dan, have you ever heard a saying?"
"What's the word?"
"Curiosity kills the cat."
She hooked her lips in a sneer and said no more.
The green light came on, the car started, and the atmosphere in the car
quieted down. Dan sitting on the passenger side after a long time,
suddenly remembered where he came across Camille's that
expression?
On Ayan's face.
Exactly the same.
It was true that after being together for a long time, one would
subconsciously look like the other.
He originally only intended to dig bout some information and then joke
about it, but after seeing Camille's reaction, he immediately dismissed
the idea.
What if it was a couple thing?
Arriving at the office, Dan didn't go up, but simply said, "I'l walk back to
the hotel go to the nearby bookstore to buy two books."
"Good." With her bag in hand, Camille turned around and headed for
the building.
Dan called out to her, "Camille!"
"Yes?"
"Don't take what I just said to heart, I didn't mean anything else, and I
apologize if it makes you uncomfortable.â
"What just happened?" Camille raised her eyebrows and just curled her
lips into a smile, then without waiting for Dan to say anything, she
turned her head and walked into the building.
