Chapter 568 Use Me
âThere is no shoulds or shouldn't, only whether you want to or not, and
if you don't then you don't need to." His look was tender, his deep eyes
staring at Camille for a moment.
He then took the initiative to confess the reason for Cora's apology,
because what he thought was that, since she had done wrong, she had
to apologize publicly. Only then could everyone be clear about what
Cora had actually done.
But he didn't think whether Camille would accept it or not. Nor did he
think about whether Camille wanted to forgive or not.
All he could think about was getting it over with and giving Camille an
explanation.
So, after he learned from Sienna what Camille had been going through
the past two days, a deep guilt arose within him.
That was why he didn't ask Camille what happened when he found her.
Instead, he took her to a movie and went to Janie's for noodles
because he was afraid Camille wouldn't give him the chance.
His thin lips pursed into a straight line, the expression on his face was
somewhat obscure, and his voice was raspy and light: âI'm sorry for
getting you into trouble because of my careless consideration.â
It was not that Ayan hadn't said sorry to her, but this time the guilt and
remorse were especially heavy from his words.
Camille was stunned into silence and did not respond immediately, and
Ayan's words did not stop there.
He continued, "I asked her to apologize to you not because I want you
to necessarily accept it, but just hope that you and others can see her
admit the mistake she has made. Even if this matter has been so long
ago, the clarification should be no less."
Ayan confessed his thoughts and purpose.
It would be a lie for Camille to say she was not moved in any way.
She guessed it was his idea from the beginning, because only he had
that ability. Whether it was Cora or Brody or anyone else, he was the
only one who could hold them back and make them compromise.
But she didn't take her frustration at Ayan for Austin's actions, because
it was quite another matter, and Ayan didn't tell Austin to do it, so why
should she blame him?
Camille looked at the man in front of her and a faint light smile spread
across the corners of her mouth as she said, "I accept your apology."
Ayan seemed surprised, but soon his thin lips were smiling and his dark
eyes seemed to look deep into her heart. âThank you for your
tolerance, then do not go back to Maple Leaves Mansion tonight, I'll
send you back to Simpson's mansion with Timmy. *
Camille did not say yes at once, just a hesitation that slipped sluggishly
across her face
Ayan said, "Don't worry, I'll see you back and leave. I have an
appointment with Rex and some work to do, so I won't be staying at
Simpson's mansion.â
Camille didn't say anything as she looked at his face, which was so
close to hers.
She was quite conflicted in her mind.
To say that she didn't mind his overnight stay was certainly false, but
what position was she in to mind this?
The Simpson's mansion was the Simpson family's place, and she was
no longer one of them. Between the two, he was naturally more
qualified to stay.
But Camille didn't explain anything in particular, just nodded her head in
agreement.
Ayan was driving the car. It wasn't quiet for too long before he opened
his thin lips: "Sienna's restaurant is ready to open. Rex let me ask if you
could come a day earlier and add to the popularity if you have time."
"I also met with her today, and she just told me to remember to come
over and help with the opening.â
"I guess it's embarrassing, but you can go there early if you're free."
"Yeah, I know." Camille nodded in response, but then casually said, "I
can help her serve the food, but I don't think there's any way to offer
actual help.â
"How come? Behind you is the Simpson family and me. That's your
biggest source of confidence.â He said it naturally, justified and
confident, but it became quiet inside the car. Because of the
relationship between them, he added: "I know what you have in mind,
but in this circle of society, with both background and status, it will be
easier than none. Sometimes playing the Ayan card can let you take a
lot of shortcuts, so just give me a chance to be taken advantage of by
you, okay?"
It was Camille's first time meeting someone who offered to be used by
others, especially when that person was Ayan.
She withdrew her eyes to look out the window, but the hands clasped
together revealed how much emotion was stirring in her heart.
Back at Simpson's mansion, the two went in together.
Camille brought back the beef and other dishes Janie had given her to
Simpson's mansion as well.
It wasn't too late, so everyone was still in the hall chatting. Seeing the
two back together surprised them. The food taken back from Janie
implied that they also had dinner together, and everyone was even
more surprised.
Talia hugged Timmy and waved his hand, "Say hi to Mommy and Dad.
Mommy and Dad are back together to see you."
Camille put down the things in her hands and then rushed to wash her
hands, before reaching out to take Timmy in her arms and sitting on the
couch.
Ayan briefly greeted the old Simpson and Fletcher, and then said,
"Camille will keep you company. I have an appointment to attend, so I'll
go."
He walked to Camille, leaned down to look at Timmy in Camille's arms,
reached out his hands and gently squeezed his cheeks, his voice soft:
"Be good and listen to Mommy. Daddy will go out and make money to
buy you toys."
He leaned close, a warm breath seeming to spray down her cheeks,
making her slightly stiff and motionless.
Talia took a picture of them on her cell phone, and she gave Fletcher a
quiet look: what a heartwarming picture for Timmy after he grew up.
After Ayan left, Camille spent some time talking to the old Simpson
before taking Timmy upstairs.
Naturally, she stayed in the nursery with Timmy at night, not even
bothering the nanny. She was alone with him and took care of him
herself.
Timmy could already sit still. To prevent him from falling, a special fence
was installed in the nursery. And Talia also planned to use the adjoined
study to give Timmy more space to play in the future.
Outside Simpson's mansion, Ayan did not go to meet Rex, but drove
back to Maple Leaves Mansion.
He had gotten the key from Sienna, so he could open the door and
enter directly.
At night, he stayed overnight.
He wanted to see how bold Austin could be.
But that night, Ayan waited until after midnight and did not hear a knock
on the door, probably because Camille had called the police during the
day and reported to the property management for help, so it was
temporarily peaceful.
Ayan didn't sleep in Camille's bed. He didn't even go into the bedroom.
He didn't want to leave any trace that he'd been there.
Early in the morning, Kian sent clothes over for him to change, and
then reported Austin's whereabouts: "Master Simpson, since yesterday
Austin has not left the hospital. He has been with Cora. I also called to
ask the doctor. Austin is indeed in the ward, but the two seem to be
getting along much better than before. Cora is also not so repulsive,
and even tries to please Austin."
Kian now called Austin and Cora by their names because he was a
qualified secretary and could tell what was on his own boss's mind.
Ayan did not give a response immediately, but only slowly and carefully
put on the suit jacket, and then packed the changed clothes to take
away.
He opened the coffee Kian had bought and took a sip, his handsome
face showing a cold indifference as he asked, "What did the doctor
say?"
"She is recovering.â
"Since she is recovering, then she can check out of the hospital. The
follow-up does not need to be reported to me. As for Austin, let's try his
patience.â
Kian asked in a low voice, "Master Simpson, why don't we call the
police? Aren't we wasting time with him?"
