Chapter 563 Pressure
He took the initiative to ask out loud.
Naturally, Camille could not refuse to answer.
She nodded her head, "Well, just ate something, how about you guys?"
"Not yet, Rex and I just arrived.â His deep eyes still fell on her for a
moment.
Camille pursed her lips slightly, while Sienna beside her had no
intention of speaking, and likewise Rex.
Ut was not simply a disagreement between they two.
Camille said in a light voice, âThen you guys go ahead and eat, while
Sienna and I will go out for a walk."
"Good." Ayan nodded his head.
Camille pulled Sienna forward, and as she passed him, he suddenly
reached out and clutched her wrist, his voice low: "Don't go far. I want
to talk to you later."
Not waiting for Camille to ask further, he had already let go of his hand
and walked with Rex to a private room.
Camille and Sienna walked along the road from the restaurant to the
nearby river, quiet and not talking the whole way.
Camille watched Sienna for a long time as she waited for her to speak
up.
It was a while before Sienna said indifferently, "If you have anything to
ask, just do it!"
Camille looked at her and thought hard about it before she said, "Did
you guys have a fight or not? How come as if you don't know each
other even though you just saw each other?"
"Really did not argue, probably because he thinks I do not have a
heart, so he des not want to take care of me!" Sienna also got a
general idea about the who thing in the past two days, but what
happened recently were not the main reason, but just the trigger.
From the very beginning of their relationship, Rex was the one in the
initiative, and he tried every way to have her together with him, even
though Sienna was not that into him. She was like a cheating
philandering man who's too easy to get but doesn't want to cherish.
Of course, she was not such a person.
She confessed to Camille, "It's not that I don't have feelings, I just don't
want to hurt myself too much when I pull away.â
Camille immediately understood what she meant.
She still minded the fact that Rex had had a fiancée, and the Shen
family didn't know about them, and if they did, would they accept her as
the adopted daughter of the King family?
Apart from the possible disagreement from the King family, at some
point in the future she would be arranged for a marriage with a family or
business that would help the King family.
So it was never up to her to decide where she belonged and what the
future would be.
Sienna understood it, but Rex did not.
He thought she was cold-blooded and heartless, but she was just trying
to live a little more down to the earth.
Camille stared at her in silence, and couldn't help but think of her and
Ayan. Compared to Sienna and Rex, she felt quite envious, at least
they had liked each other.
She put on a helpless and light smile: "It's normal for you to have
concerns, but none of us know what will happen tomorrow, so why not
open your heart completely? As for what exactly will appear next, it's
not too late to wait until it actually happens before making a decision!"
She wasn't sure if Sienna was listening or not, but just looked at
Camille and nodded.
The two of them have always given intuitive advice about each other's
relationships, but just it, they wouldn't interfere too much and talk too
much.
The two walked for some time along the river, and then turned back.
It was after nine o'clock. When Camille and Sienna walked to the
restaurant, Ayan and Rex came out from inside as well.
Ayan finished talking to Rex and came straight towards her. Sienna
also said sagely, "I won't bother you and Master Simpson anymore. I'll
go back to count my money too and see howthe business is today."
Camille whispered, "Remember what I said, huh?"
"Okay." She nodded, then walked away, nodding with Ayan as well, as
a greeting.
Ayan walked up to Camille, her gaze still fixed on Sienna, and he asked
in a low voice, "What are you looking at her for?"
Camille shook her head, her eyes meeting his gaze.
She said, "What do you want to talk to me about?"
Ayan said lightly, "Wanted to ask if you could spare your tomorrow night
for me?"
Camille froze. "You .... What are you going to do?"
What's the point of sparing it for him?
Ayan's handsome face was flooded with smile. âCan I tell you tomorrow
night?"
Camille did not know what he meant, but Ayan really had no intention of
going on about it.
Until he walked her to the car, pulled the door open for her and let her
in, then stood by the window and whispered, "Just want to ask you to
go somewhere. Don't feel too much pressure. You can refuse me if you
don't want to, but I hope you'll say yes."
After saying that, without waiting for Camille to say anything, he took a
step back and his deep eyes watched her. "Drive slowly and be safe."
Camille left under his watchful eye, and these two days of meeting
each other in succession seemed bring her back to the time before the
divorce.
Lived in peace and respected each other.
Camille was also a bit taken aback when she realized this.
What was Ayan trying to do? Was it to discourage her from bringing
Timmy out of the Simpson's mansion or was it something else?
She thought about it and couldn't come up with any idea about it.
Back at Maple Leaves Mansion, once the car was parked and turned
off, she messaged Sienna, "I'm back, how are you?"
Sienna was probably still counting her money, so she didn't reply.
Camille got out of the car and just as she closed the door, she saw
Horace, who had been standing outside the floor door for who knew
how long.
She subconsciously wrinkled her eyebrows and stood still with no
obvious expression.
Horace also saw her and immediately walked over and stopped in front
of her. And he said, "Miss Armstrong, is it convenient to have a talk for
a moment?"
"What did Master Burris want to talk about?" She looked at him without
much expression.
Horace naturally saw the bandage on her face and probably knew how
it came about, so in a low voice he asked, "Is it okay with you?"
"Nothing." She replied indifferently.
Horace's face was also cold as ice. He was wearing a simple dark gray
V-neck sweater, and underneath was a pair of black home pants. Such
an outfit in this slightly cool night seemed made him appear with even
stronger coldness.
With his emotionless voice, he said, "I'd like to explain to you briefly
about why I showed up at the Armstrong family yesterday.â
Camille: "Master Burris is overly concerned. You and Armstrong Corp
are in partnership, and it's not really surprising that you would be with
them, so there's nothing to explain.â
Even though Camille said so, but Horace still continued: "I will not be
involved in the Armstrong family's private affairs as a financing partner.
No matter what happened yesterday, I should take blame for it. I feel so
sorry for the injury to Miss Armstrong. *
Camille did not respond immediately. After a brief silence for two
seconds, she said in a light voice, "Okay, I accept your apology, but
Master Burris also do not take it to heart. Not a big deal, just a small
injury.â
Horace nodded slightly: "Now that everything is fine, I'd like to ask Miss
Armstrong to work with us in the future.â
"Master Burris is very kind." Camille also hung her head and bowed it.
The misunderstanding was cleared up, and the two said goodbye to
each other. Then Camille went upstairs.
Horace being the first to reach out to her made Camille wonder if she
was being a little mean?
