Chapter 446: Playing Dumb
The somewhat urgent tone of her follow-up question was a good
indication of her urgency about what Austin was really going to say.
Austin didn't answer her words, just reached out and pulled the
binoculars to him, then his eyes came up to look at them twice before
following, âThere's no rush.â
Camille's eyes were slightly narrowed, her face a little downcast.
She said, "Mr. Norman, if you simply asked me to come over and see
this house you bought, then now that the purpose has been served, if
you have nothing else to do, can I go?"
"Mrs. Simpson, are you in such a hurry to leave because you are afraid
or because you don't want to face some facts?" Austin's eyes were
narrowed and a smile appeared between his eyebrows as he said,
"Mrs. Simpson, you're here now, so there's no hurry to stay a little
longer, right? Although we are not familiar, but at least we have met, not
to mention the next we are still a partnership, so a chat is not too much,
right?"
Austin's every word was heavily implied, as if he intended to hide
something more, and as if he wanted to tell her something right away.
Camille felt more and more confused, but Austin was right in saying
that since she was here, there seemed to be no hurry for a while, so
she didn't speak, just kept silent and sat quietly in her chair.
As for Austin, he didn't make a sound either, and both of them kept
quiet.
I don't know how long it went on like that until Austin's phone suddenly
rang.
He picked up the answer slowly and methodically, "Hello?"
"Mr. Norman, Mrs. went up."
"Got it."
He hung up the phone, then pulled the binoculars again and swept
them in front of his eyes, the corners of his mouth flushed with a cold
thought, followed by him sitting back in his chair, picking up a remote
control and pressing a key, the next second, a white projection cloth
appeared in front of him.
Camille slightly frowned at him, only to see the coldness on his face,
and the bottom of his eyes were even more wrapped in coldness.
Austin spoke up at this point: "Mrs. Simpson, aren't you in a hurry?
Soon you will know what I mean by inviting you here today?"
After the projection cloth was put down, a picture appeared on it
immediately.
At first Camille did not see clearly, because the wind whistled and the
picture was a little shaky.
But after a short adjustment, the picture is also more stable, the man's
back stood there pensively looking a bit scrupulous, he was smoking
with a cigarette in his hand, because he could not see his face, so it is
not clear how his expression at the moment?
But Camille knew exactly who the man in the picture was?
Austin also swept her up at this point and asked lightly, "Mrs. Simpson
isn't curious and surprised?"
Camille gave him an expressionless look and said, "What is there to be
curious about? Are you still not allowed to be lazy during work?"
"Heh!"
Austin laughed.
The laughter carried a clear mocking sound.
As if to say, Camille, are you really stupid or are you pretending to be
stupid?
The atmosphere is once again quiet, the picture in front of you is
always the man alone.
After he smoked a cigarette, he answered another phone call and
spoke in a voice that could be vaguely heard along with the wind as a
work matter.
A few minutes later, he ended the call, the person also turned around,
looking at this familiar face, Camille's eyes also slightly narrowed, put in
the pocket of the hand is clenched tightly.
Just as Camille turned her head to Austin and was about to ask him
what the hell he was up to, there was no longer a man alone in the
picture.
What followed was a woman's voice: "Mr. Simpson? Are you here to
blow off steam too?"
Camille immediately heard who the owner of the voice was?
The next second the woman's figure appears in the camera.
Camille looked over at Austin and saw that his face was faintly pale, the
corners of his mouth were vaguely curved, but the dark eyes were
wrapped tightly in a layer of crushed ice coldness.
Austin didn't make any sound, just stared at the two people in the
picture with full attention.
What followed was the man's low, indifferent voice: "This is the
Simpson Group's territory, so there's no surprise that I'm here, right?"
"Of course, I was just casually asking, Mr. Simpson doesn't need to
react so much, much less treat me like a hater, right?"
The woman responded in a low voice, and between her words was a
noticeable light tremor, as if she was controlling some hidden emotion.
However, her words caused Ayan to grin coldly, "Heh, Miss Hayes is
joking, you and I don't know each other well, so why should I treat you
as an enemy again?"
You and I don't know each other well.
Uncooked.
The two words made Cora's face stiffen, even through the camera can
clearly see the shock of the fierce shrinkage under her eyes.
I don't know if it was Ayan's words that shocked her like never before,
she was silent for several seconds, there was no more sound of their
conversation, only the whistling wind.
Ayan indifferently swept a glance at Cora, and then lifted his feet with
the intention of leaving.
Just as he was about to brush past her, the faint woman's voice rang
out again, "You must hate me, right?"
He stopped dead in his tracks.
The face also became cold as frost, under the eyes more like a layer of
thin ice.
She added, âBecause you hate me, that's why you made that decision,
right?"
Her emotions grew and she said, "Why did you and her baby have to
be named Timmy and why couldn't you have named it something
else?"
Hearing the word Timmy, Camille's eyes also subconsciously trembled.
She didn't understand what that meant?
Why can't we call Timmy, what does it have to do with her?
Without waiting for her to think clearly, the man sneered, "What does
this have to do with you? My child and hers what we want to name it is
our business, it is not your business to interfere."
âYou lied to me! You clearly promised that it belonged to us, how could
you do this? How could you give it to someone else to use?"
"The other people you're talking about are my wife and children, so
please watch your language.â
He warned in a stem voice.
But Cora's emotions are not the slightest bit restrained, but rather there
is some intensification.
She cried: "You are doing this to me because of revenge, you are doing
this to me because you hate me for leaving without saying goodbye in
the first place, why don't you admit it? Even if you hate me, you don't
dare to tell the truth and admit it?"
Ayan coldly swept her a glance, his words are full of hostile coldness,
he said: "What are you? Why do you want to hear the truth from me?
As for whether I will hate you? Of course not, to me you are just a
stranger, and why should I have hatred for you? Because I won't waste
extra space and heart to hate a person who has nothing to do with me."
Ayan's words finished without lingering a second longer and lifted his
feet and left, this time he left the rooftop without stopping his pace.
Cora stood there for a long time, and even though there was wind, her
sobs could be clearly heard.
In the end, her entire body squatted on the ground shrinking into a ball,
just squatting there to maintain this position for a long time.
It was so long that Camille and Austin lost track of time until Austin
turned off the screen and then looked faintly at Camille.
He asked, "Does Mrs. Simpson have anything to say after the
viewing?"
Camille's eyes narrowed slightly and her words were cold as she
asked, "What does Mr. Norman mean? Did you ask me to come here
just to see this?"
Although all she could hear from the video was Ayan's indifference to
Cora, the emotions between the two made it clear to her that they
never really forgot about each other.
But what does all this have to do with her?
Camille thought this in her mind, but did not feel the slightest pleasure
or relaxation.
On the contrary, there is an inexplicable and unspeakable sourness.
Austin also stared at her, probably because he found it too boring, so
he opened the cigarette case and took a cigarette, but he did not light
it, just subconsciously looked at Camille, as if asking her again do you
mind?
Camille got up and walked to the window, keeping a distance from him.
Austin then lit his cigarette and then he took a sharp breath before his
voice came out unsteadily, "Mrs. Simpson, the reason you had the baby
early was because you ran into the two of them meeting and talking,
right?"
Camille doesn't say anything, so that's the default.
Austin smiled lightly, "Aren't you curious?"
