Chapter 1289 Excuse

"Of course, I will support every decision you make, as long as they are

truly your own thoughts, unaffected and unthreatened by anyone," said

Horace. He was a very independent person, and his parents trusted

him enough not to force him into anything he didn't like or coerce him,

which is why he had become the person he was today.

Grace looked at Horace and took a silent breath. She said, “Thank you

for believing in me and being willing to support me."

"Silly!" Horace gently raised his hand and embraced her, his voice still

very gentle as he said, "Since you've made the decision, then continue

on according to your choice. You have to believe that no matter when, I

will always be on your side, okay?"

"Yes, I know," Grace pursed her lips.

The two continued walking back, and the distance was actually quite

far. After a while, they had a driver come to pick them up.

With someone accompanying her, Grace felt that time passed quickly.

These past few days were the most social she had been since coming

here because Horace took her everywhere during the day and had

dinner with his parents in the evening.

Although his parents had been living abroad all the time, their lifestyle

was similar to Grace's, so there were no issues at all.

While Grace felt time flew by, Ayan felt that time was dragging on.

After Ayan and Kian returned to the hotel, they started a video

conference to handle matters regarding the Simpson Group. No one at

the Simpson Group knew that he had already gone abroad, so they

assumed he was working from home.

Since he didn't need to report to anyone, he could remain invisible even

if he didn't show up.

Ayan dealt with work through video, and time ticked away, but he

realized it had only been an hour.

At this moment, it was already time to finish work in the country.

But today, all the top executives at the Simpson Group were working

overtime because the meeting was still ongoing. It wouldn't be possible

to suggest leaving and interrupting the meeting, right?

Camille and Sienna also left the company together and drove to

Darkmoor.

When they arrived at Darkmoor, Ayan's assistant had already ordered

the food in advance. So when Camille and Sienna returned to the

private room, the manager of Darkmoor immediately came over and

asked, "Mrs. Simpson, should we serve the dishes now?"

Camille glanced at the time and because Crystal hadn't arrived yet, she

could only say, "Not yet, let me tell you when everyone is here."

The manager nodded and left the private room.

Only Camille and Sienna remained in the room, sitting side by side.

Sienna asked in a low voice, "Why hasn't she arrived yet?"

"Did you send her the address?"

“Yes, I sent it in the afternoon.” Sienna checked her phone again and

found no message from Crystal. Taking the opportunity while Crystal

hadn't arrived yet, she lowered her voice and said, "When we meet

Crystal later, should we ask her? What do you think?"

"Ask her about what?"

“It's just...” Sienna blinked her eyes, feeling a bit hesitant. "Ask her why

she's so proactive towards me. Don't you want to know?"

"To be honest, I'm not that curious because she approached you first,

so the curiosity should be directed at you. Anyway, I can hold myself

back." Camille smirked mischievously, making Sienna unable to resist

getting frustrated.

Camille, on the other hand, remained calm and said, "Alright, if you're

really curious, I'll ask her for you later.”

"Camille!!!" Sienna was getting worked up. She even started using

Camille's full name and said, "Can you be serious? Let me tell you, if

you don't cherish me properly and someone else snatches me away,

you won't have a place to cry."

Camille immediately poured her a cup of tea and brought it to her lips,

gently feeding her. She cooed softly, "Okay, okay, it's my fault. Don't

worry, no one else dares to have you except me. Should I not bother

her?"

Sienna didn't know if she was being comforted by these words. In any

case, she wasn't angry or unhappy anymore. Instead, she leaned her

head against Camille's shoulder and said softly, “Be nicer to me."

"Alright, alright, I'll be nice to you. Tonight's dishes will all be your

favorites. Is that good enough?"

"That's about right."

As they were talking, the door to the private room swung open from the

outside.

It was the manager who had brought them in earlier, wearing a smiling

expression. He spoke up, "Mrs. Simpson, Mrs. Ward, your friends have

arrived.”

Camille and Sienna lifted their eyes and looked towards the door.

Crystal followed behind the manager and walked in.

She was holding two delicate bags, dressed in casual attire, exuding

vitality. She pursed her lips and waved her hand at Camille and Sienna,

saying, "Hello, long time no see. Sorry for being late. Have you been

waiting for me?"

Camille and Sienna shook their heads together and said in unison, "No,

we just arrived a little while ago.”

Then Camille looked at the manager as a reminder to bring the food.

Sienna beckoned Crystal to sit down and chat. Crystal handed over the

gifts in her hands and said, "Here are some small gifts for you,

designed by myself."

Camille and Sienna quickly reached out to receive them. Crystal

gestured for them to open the packaging and see if they liked them.

Camille received a necklace, and Sienna received a bracelet. They

were very beautiful and unique.

Camille said, "You're too kind. It's just a simple meal. Last time you

brought us local specialties, and now you're giving us gifts. But we

haven't prepared anything for you. It makes me feel embarrassed.”

Camille and Sienna truly hadn't prepared anything, and receiving

Crystal's gifts at this moment was indeed a bit embarrassing. Because

they didn't want to owe others, they would have to think hard about

what they could prepare and return to Crystal.

However, Crystal said, "These are just inexpensive little gifts. You don't

need to worry about it. Besides, we are friends, right? I've said it

before, if I want to be friends with you, then we don't need to be so

formal. Moreover, this is Hance City. Who knows, there might be times

in the future when I need you to stand up for me? This is just me

planning ahead for myself."

Crystal's words left Camille and Sienna without any excuse to refuse.

Of course, the opportunity she mentioned in the future was just an

excuse to prevent them from refusing. After all, behind her stood the Bill

family. Although the Bill family was not in Hance City, they were

influential people in high society. If Crystal really encountered any

problems in Hance City, she could certainly find someone from Hance

City to help her on behalf of the Bill family.

Crystal said all this because she didn't want Camille and Sienna to

always be so formal. She wanted them to treat her as a true friend.

After she said that, Camille naturally smiled and said, "Of course, that

goes without saying. But since we're friends, there's no need to be so

polite. You don't have to give us any more gifts in the future, okay?"

Sienna also quickly added, “Yeah, yeah, if we're friends, there's no

need to give gifts. Look at us, I would happily let her feed me for a

lifetime without having to repay her."

Crystal looked at the interaction between the two and envy filled her

eyes. She said, "You have such a good relationship. I wish I had a best

friend like that!"

"Don't you have one?" Sienna whispered.
