Chapter 1275: Offending

Camille let out a faint hum, "You really want me to have insomnia?"

Sienna smiled wryly, “It's not that I want that, but I thought that since

someone isn't at home with you, you should have insomnia.”

"Sorry to disappoint you, but not only did I not have insomnia, I slept

quite well!" Camille raised her eyebrows and smiled.

Sienna grumbled, "You slept well, but I didn't. Do you know how

worried I was? I even woke up in the middle of the night to check for

messages, afraid of missing your messages. Just a word from you, and

I would fly to your side immediately. But you, you didn't even think

about me. I don't know what you mean."

Camille couldn't help but burst into laughter. She said, "From what

you're saying, if I didn't reach out to you, you would be disappointed?

Were you hoping that he wouldn't be at home so that I would come to

you? Sienna, your thoughts are impure. Do you have some kind of

feelings for me?"

Camille found it amusing, but she was also touched.

Sienna wanted to rely on Camille completely. She said, “Yes, yes, I do

have feelings for you. So, do you have any response to that?"

“Thank you, but I already have a child, so it's impossible for us.”

“You heartless woman, you truly prioritize romance over friendship.”

Sienna pretended to wipe away tears, and Yessica walked in holding

some documents. She was about to report work to Camille, so she was

quite surprised to see this scene.

Yessica asked, "Did I come at the wrong time? Did I disturb you two?"

Sienna still didn't let go of Camille and leaned against her. However,

her gaze was fixed on Yessica as she said, "You came at just the right

time. Hurry up and testify for me. This heartless woman doesn't need

me anymore."

Camille looked helpless and didn't say anything. She just indulged

Sienna to say whatever she wanted.

Yessica found it amusing as well and naturally knew that Sienna was

just joking. The friendship between these two was the most comfortable

way of getting along that she had ever seen. They could be crazy

together and work seriously together.

Yessica stood by and smiled, looking at the two of them. She said, "I

dare not testify. I'm afraid that if you two make up, you'll gang up on

me. What should I do then?"

Sienna instinctively pursed her lips and said, "Yessica, you're becoming

a bad influence.”

Yessica replied, “I'm not bad, I'm just afraid.”

Seeing Yessica's cautious expression, Camille couldn't help but feel like

laughing. She said, "Give it a rest. Look, you've scared Yessica. Can't

you be more serious?"

Sienna was taken aback and acted, saying, “Listen to this, she actually

said I'm not serious. In the whole company, I'm probably the most

serious person, but she lets people say that about me. Isn't that too

hurtful to my heart? I feel like my heart is bleeding right now, bleeding,

you know? It feels awful.”

Camille pushed Sienna away and distanced herself from her, reaching

out to Yessica to take the documents. She walked around the desk and

sat down on the office chair, calmly looking at Sienna and said, "You

shouldn't be here. You should be acting. I'll contact someone later to

take you to the set. Trust me, you'll definitely win the Best Actress

award."

Camille focused on reviewing the documents, and Sienna, taking

advantage of the situation, leaned towards Yessica. Yessica naturally

reached out to support her and let her lean on her.

Sienna pretended to sob and said, "See that? This is the epitome of

men. Once they get something, they don't cherish it anymore. That's

why you have to always be true to yourself in front of your significant

other, or else this is reality!"

Yessica obediently nodded, wearing a well-behaved expression, and

said, "Okay."

Seeing Yessica being so compliant, Sienna couldn't bear to continue

the act and instead raised her hand to gently caress Yessica's cheek

and asked, "Are you also alone at home?"

"Yes, Yessica and I are currently free agents," Yessica replied, her face

showing a clear smile, which seemed to carry some deeper meaning.

Sienna didn't understand and asked, "What do you mean by “free

agent'?"

“Yeah, don't you know? Kian is so annoying at home, constantly

nagging about this and that. I feel like he's driving me crazy. He's more

naggy than my parents. Now that he's going on a business trip, I'm

really happy. I immediately ordered takeout last night and got bubble

tea, extra cold, with spicy crayfish and barbecue,” Yessica couldn't help

but complain. "You're really impressive. Why don't you say it again so I

can record it and tease Kian when he comes back?"

“No, I'm afraid he'll murder me," Yessica quickly shook her head,

exuding a sense of fear.

Camille lightly tapped the table and calmly asked, "The design

competition is about to begin. Do you have time to chat here? Have you

finished revising your sketches?" She then looked at Yessica and said,

"And you, is your work done? My office is under surveillance. If you

don't want Kian to find out, you better start working now!"

The two exchanged glances and both showed a sorrowful expression.

Sienna clicked her tongue and said, "See that? This is your Cami, a

heartless woman!"

Speaking of which, Sienna and Yessica immediately went to handle

their work-related matters. After the two left, the office instantly became

quiet.

Camille continued reviewing the documents, making corrections to

areas she was not satisfied with. Once she finished organizing them,

she called Yessica in.

Camille handed the documents to Yessica and asked, "Has anyone

called for me in the past two days?" She was surprised by the lack of

communication from Preston.

Yessica thought carefully and shook her head, saying, "No, but

something unexpected happened.”

"What happened?" Camille asked.

Yessica stepped back to the door, casually closing it, and then spoke

up, "Quintus called me last night."

"Quintus?" Camille was also very surprised, her gaze filled with

curiosity. After all, she had seen Quintus at the hospital yesterday, so

she couldn't help but wonder.

She looked at Yessica and asked, "What did Quintus want when he

called you? Do you usually keep in touch?"

Yessica shook her head, "No, we haven't had any contact since he left

the company. So when he called me, I was a bit startled. And with Kian

not being at home, I was a little scared. I even thought about contacting

you directly.”

"If something like this happens next time, you can come to me. Don't try

to handle it alone, okay?" Camille reassured in a low voice before

asking, "What did he want?"

"He wanted me to help him find a job and asked if the company was

still hiring. I told him we weren't, and since I'm at the company every

day, I don't know anyone else to recommend. Besides, our interaction

was limited, especially since he was Preston's person. Even when he

was still with the company before, we hardly had any communication.

So, I politely declined him without offending or saying anything too

harsh. I tried to be tactful because I didn't want to become enemies

with him," Yessica explained.

After Yessica's explanation, Camille nodded in agreement, saying,

“Yes, you did well. It's best not to offend him to avoid unnecessary

trouble.”

"That's what I thought too. But I'm also a bit curious about something.

Why did he approach me? Didn't Preston arrange something for him

before? After all, he followed Preston for a long time. He didn't hesitate

to quit the company back then. Speaking of which, it was quite an ugly

situation!" Yessica raised a question, and Camille understood it

naturally. Since Preston only used Quintus, he wouldn't have made any

genuine arrangements for him.

However, at this moment, Camille was thinking about another question.

Did Quintus discover what Preston was hiding during the time he

followed him?
