Chapter 1191: Torture
Camille drove the car while responding in a nonchalant tone, almost
dismissively. However, Preston didn't notice, nor did he display any
trace of doubt. It seemed as though his thoughts were not focused on
her response, but rather on where she was at that moment.
In response to Camille's answer, Preston spoke softly, âIs there
anything wrong? I'm just a bit concerned about you. Do you need me to
accompany you?"
âNo, I can handle it myself. It's not a big deal, don't worry. I'm fine. Well,
I'm busy on my end, so let's not talk right now," Camille quickly rejected
Preston's offer with a few words. She then found a quick excuse to end
the conversation with him because she was waiting for Kian's call and
didn't want to waste time on others.
Camille pressed her lips lightly, following Ayan's car until they reached
a luxurious villa. When the car came to a stop, Eileen, who was in the
driver's seat, got out of the car. She walked to the security booth,
brought the security guard out, and led him to the passenger seat. It
seemed like she was saying something to the guard. The guard tilted
his head, leaned over to look at the passenger seat, and then nodded
before lifting the barrier.
Camille was not unfamiliar with this place; it was a villa owned by Ayan.
After Ayan had selected Franklin Bay, he asked for Camille's opinion. If
she didn't like Franklin Bay, they would move to this place instead.
However, Camille felt that this place was too far from the company, so
she declined the offer.
But how did Eileen know this address?
Camille snorted lightly, waiting for Ayan's car to go far away before
driving over. The security guard was not familiar with her face, as they
didn't interact frequently. Of course, various information had to be
registered, but Camille simply revealed her identity and then pointed to
Ayan's car that had just entered, saying, "I am his wife."
The security guard's eyes immediately filled with curiosity, but due to
Ayan's status, he didn't dare to ask any further questions. He simply
nodded and lifted the barrier for Camille.
Camille drove inside and parked the car at the entrance of the villa, with
Ayan's car also present, but she parked outside while Ayan's car was in
the garage.
Sitting in the car, Camille felt a bit confused because she didn't know if
coming here was Eileen's plan or Ayan's intention. She was wavering.
Camille felt extremely conflicted and hesitant sitting in the car. During
this process, she felt tortured.
Just as she hesitated whether to go in directly or perhaps call the police
to have them go in on her behalf, Kian's call came.
Camille immediately pressed the answer button, never before had she
answered a call so swiftly.
Her voice sounded a bit anxious as she asked, "Kian, where are you?
Why didn't you answer my call earlier?"
âI'm sorry, Mrs. Simpson. I just had a cup of tea. It was sent by Eileen
through the waiter, and I wasn't prepared, so..."
Kian understood immediately, and he anxiously replied, âWhat exactly
happened? How did he end up having dinner with Eileen?"
"Mrs. Simpson, you already know?" Kian sounded somewhat surprised.
Camille said, "I followed his car and arrived at the villa. It's just him and
Eileen, so it must be his intention, right?"
Kian didn't expect Camille to act so quickly, and he quickly replied,
"Mrs. Simpson, can you wait for me for a moment? I'm on my way there
now."
"So, you know where it is?"
"Yes, I'll be there soon. Can I explain to you once I arrive?"
"Okay, I'll wait for you."
Camille abruptly ended the call and her eyes turned towards the villa.
What exactly was happening inside?
With a serious expression on her face, Camille's emotions were already
in turmoil. However, she couldn't afford to indulge in random thoughts
or make impulsive decisions.
Taking a deep breath, she repeatedly told herself to stay calm.
Kian arrived quickly, in just twenty minutes, indicating how fast he was
driving.
After parking the car, Kian got out and headed towards Camille's car.
Camille rolled down the window and looked at him indifferently, asking,
"Weren't you going to Darkmoor with him? Why did you come here with
a car?"
"I prepared a car in advance as a backup.â
"So, was this dinner his idea?"
âIt was Eileen's idea. Mr. Simpson was just cooperating with her."
"What are they doing inside now?"
Camille's face remained calm, although her voice was still cold, even
though she knew Ayan was cooperating with Eileen.
Camille pursed her lips, her gaze never leaving the entrance of the
villa. Kian spoke in a lowered voice, paying close attention to Camille's
expression as he said, "Mrs. Simpson, Mr. Simpson had no choice but
to do this because Eileen is backed by Preston. There are some things
that must be faced.â
"Alright, I understand. What should we do now? Should I go back and
wait?"
"No, stay here with me." Kian glanced at his watch and whispered, "Mr.
Simpson will come out soon."
Camille didn't understand Kian's meaning, as her mind was filled with
thoughts of what Ayan was doing. She didn't dwell on Kian's words.
However, Kian suggested parking the cars to the side and listening
from there, to avoid drawing attention.
Camille cooperated and got out of the car, letting Kian drive. Her
emotions were still very low, and she didn't feel like driving or doing
anything at the moment.
Kian parked both cars under a large tree. The tree provided cover, and
being a roadside parking spot, it concealed the two cars well.
Camille sat in the car, her gaze fixed ahead. Kian, perhaps concerned
that she lacked patience, whispered, "Mrs. Simpson, please rest
assured. Mr. Simpson will be fine."
Camille's face remained calm as she said indifferently, "I'm not worried
about him. I'm just wondering, how many things have you all kept from
me?"
Camille looked at Kian, her eyes filled with a faint hint of probing.
Uncomfortable under her gaze, Kian instinctively looked away and
didn't dare to speak. Camille didn't press him further.
The atmosphere between the two fell quiet, as a police car arrived at
the entrance of the villa.
Camille was shocked, her face displaying surprise. Naturally, she
looked towards Kian and asked, "What's going on?"
"Mrs. Simpson, don't worry, Mr. Simpson is fine.â Kian replied
confidently.
Camille wasn't worried or anxious, just surprised. Why would the police
come at this time?
Ayan?
Or Eileen?
