Chapter 1142: Searching
The two women exchanged a glance, and the bolder one asked, "Who
are you? What's it to you?"
Camille chuckled lightly, her voice airy, "Who I am doesn't really matter.
What does matter is that I'm the person you were discussing. So, even
if I didn't want to talk, it's hard to swallow this pride.â
After Camille spoke, the women's memories returned to normal, and
they looked at Camille with some disbelief, a hint of incredulity in their
eyes.
Camille didn't linger and calmly interrupted their conversation. She
said, "It's quite embarrassing to be caught like this. So, if you're going
to gossip behind someone's back, you might want to check the
surroundings in case you run into the person involved. Since you're so
curious about whether he hits people or not, let me tell you-he doesn't
lay a hand on anyone, let alone domestic violence. Although we are
divorced, we are engaged in a new game. He is pursuing me!"
After this string of words, Camille raised her foot and walked away.
It wasn't until her figure completely disappeared that the two women
belatedly came back to their senses.
They exchanged glances and ultimately dared not say anything more.
Meanwhile, Camille had just returned to the lounge from the restroom.
As soon as she sat down, the lounge door was pushed open from the
outside.
Apart from Camille, Sienna, two assistants, and the assistants they had
hired, the room now had another unexpected visitor. Everyone
subconsciously looked towards the door.
When the person who opened the door was identified, everyone was
stunned. Camille instinctively asked, "Crystal?"
Crystal, with a worried expression, looked at Camille and asked, "Are
you okay?"
Camille furrowed her brow, âI'm fine!"
Camille didn't quite understand the meaning behind Crystal's question.
Crystal stepped forward, looking at Camille, "Are you really okay? He
didn't harm you, did he?"
Camille began to understand what she meant.
Camille smiled, "Did you see those gossips online?"
Crystal nodded lightly, responding, "Yes, I just saw them. Are those
true?"
"Of course not true. How could they be true!" Camille chuckled, "Never
believe baseless things, even if you see and hear them with your own
eyes and ears.â
"But thank you for caring. Good luck with the competition!"
Camille looked at Crystal, a bit puzzled about why Crystal acted this
way. Their friendship didn't seem to have reached this level yet.
Camille sighed silently, holding back many unspoken questions.
After Crystal left, Sienna started curiously inquiring, "Why did she
suddenly care so much about you? She's almost catching up to me. Do
you guys have some kind of connection in private? Let me tell you,
Camille, if you dare to have a better friend than me, I'll show you how I
can cry!"
Sienna snorted lightly, wearing an expression of anger, unhappiness,
and the need to be comforted as she looked at Camille.
Camille, with a helpless smile, said, "I don't know either. So, what are
you trying to say now? I'm as confused as you are."
Camille sighed lightly, wearing a rather mysterious expression on her
face. After all, she was genuinely surprised. She hadn't met Crystal
many times, so Crystal's actions were quite intriguing.
Sienna said, "Maybe she thinks you're Ayan's wife and wants to please
you?"
âI don't know, but I don't think I give off that vibe, right? She seems like
she doesn't lack money!"
"Who would complain about having too much money?"
"You've got a point!"
Camille said casually, but there wasn't much agreement in her mind.
The two sighed silently because the competition was about to begin,
and, of course, they didn't dwell on this matter.
After about twenty minutes, Sienna was ready to go on stage. Camille
accompanied her out of the lounge and waited backstage. Camille
cheered Sienna on, telling her not to be nervous and to treat it like any
other day.
After exchanging a hug, Sienna's phone rang. It was Rex calling.
Camille didn't interrupt their conversation and just informed Siennaâs
assistant before heading to the audience seat.
Before she reached the audience seat, Kian noticed her and quickly
came over to greet her, "Mrs. Simpson, let me take you there!"
Camille didn't refuse because she wanted to watch Sienna.
She didn't sit directly in the judge's seat but chose a spot in the
audience closest to the judges.
Ayan's gaze subconsciously turned back, but Camille didn't look at him,
clearly expressing her displeasure.
Seeing her sulking, Ayan found it somewhat amusing. Since there was
a bit of distance, he couldn't go over to coax her. He could only let her
be angry for now.
The design competition officially began. The host exchanged
pleasantries, and then the designers took turns going on stage to
introduce their designs.
There were a total of fifty designers in this competition, all of whom had
passed the preliminary rounds.
Sienna was in the top ten, and she quickly went on stage. In a brief few
minutes, she handled it well, not wasting a single second.
After finishing, she bowed to the audience and then turned to leave.
Camille's gaze swept back and forth among the judges, seeing their
reactions, and she felt a bit relieved. At least it seemed there was a
chance for Sienna to enter the next round.
She wasn't worried that Sienna wouldn't make it to the next round, just
nervous in general. After all, every step had to be considered for the
most complete outcome.
Camille took a silent deep breath, then heard the host introducing
Crystal. She was still wearing the outfit she had on in the lounge,
standing on the stage exuding confidence and vitality. The theme of her
work was âSearching.â
She briefly introduced it, and it was evident that she had put all her
effort into the work. However, she only used a few sentences to
summarize it verbally.
Camille didn't watch the introductions of all the designers. She stayed
in the audience for a while, then stood up and returned to the lounge.
Pushing open Sienna's lounge door, Sienna was nervously pacing back
and forth. Seeing Camille return, she immediately rushed up and
asked, "How was it? How was it? How do you feel?"
Camille smiled lightly, saying, "Not bad, very good. You did great!"
"Really?"
"Of course, would I lie to you?"
Sienna finally breathed a sigh of relief. At this moment, Sienna believed
Camille because Camille wouldn't tell lies just to comfort her in crucial
moments.
Rex also sent a congratulatory message, and the two chatted sweetly
for a while.
After Sienna finished chatting with Rex, Camille looked at her and
asked, "Should I go and say a few words of encouragement to Crystal?
After all, she just showed concern for me. Do I need to respond?"
