Chapter 1138: Variety
Is the real meaning behind these words really like this?
Camille's lips curled into a slight smile. Since he said that, Camille
couldn't directly expose the true meaning behind his words. She just
nodded slightly and said, "Okay, I understand. Anything else you want
to instruct, Mr. Simpson?"
She tilted her head, blinking gently. Today, not only did her clothing
style undergo a significant change, but she also deliberately applied
exquisite makeup, commonly known as a natural look. It made her face
more three-dimensional, especially her eyes, seemingly capable of
enchanting anyone. Ayan couldn't control himself; he lifted her chin,
bent down, and kissed her lips passionately before leaving the office.
Ayan's actions gave the impression that if he didn't leave now, he might
never leave. Camille's cheeks instantly turned slightly red.
Camille tightly pursed her lips, her expression shy. Even after so long,
facing Ayan, she still felt her heart pounding.
Camille slightly pursed her lips, a particularly obvious smile in her eyes.
She sat on the sofa without any movement for a long time.
After a while, wearing Ayan's suit jacket, Camille stood up and walked
out of the office. Ayan didn't need Kian's company for today's meeting,
so Kian was working at his own desk.
Camille had already greeted Kian through Yessica, so she directly
spoke, "Kian, do you have time? I'd like to talk to you for a moment.â
Kian immediately consented and walked into the office.
Camille got straight to the point, "You probably know what happened,
right? I think this matter doesn't need him to know because I don't want
it to escalate, especially when Grandpa is in the hospital. If it gets big,
I'm afraid the media or someone with ill intentions will dig out Grandpa's
hospitalization, which would be detrimental to his recovery.â
"Mrs. Simpson, you're right. What do you want to do?"
"I just took a set of photos. Find a reliable media outlet and release
them.â
"Okay, I'll do it now."
"Well, thank you."
"Mrs. Simpson, it's my duty.â
Kian nodded and then left the office.
Camille sent the photos to Kian via email. They were all in high
resolution, clearly showing Camille's face. Sending them out would
undoubtedly debunk any rumors.
After Kian's operation, the photos immediately attracted a lot of
attention. Compared to the gossip reporter's photos and content, it was
clear that this was a rebuttal.
However, some eager gossip consumers still flocked to the gossip
reporter's post to ask for updates. Some couldn't wait to see how the
truth would unfold.
The gossip reporter didn't respond at all because, at this point, he was
like an ant on a hot pot, clueless. In the end, he could only make a call,
anxiously inquiring, "What should I do now? Everyone is asking me
about the follow-up. What should I do?"
"Why are you in such a hurry?" The other party's tone was indifferent.
The gossip reporter, of course, couldn't help but be anxious. He said,
"What should I do?"
"You don't need to respond at all. Did you name anyone? What can he
do to you?"
Hearing this, the gossip reporter realized that there might be some truth
to it.
He asked, "So, do I not need to do anything now?"
"Of course, you don't need to do anything.â
"Okay."
After this call, the gossip reporter's heart slightly eased; at least, he
wasn't as worried as before.
But he overlooked one thing. If Ayan finds out about this, will there
really be no consequences just because he didn't explicitly name
anyone?
Certainly not.
Simpson Group - Ayan finished work after the meeting. He took Camille
out for dinner since they hadn't had a solo meal outside for a long time.
Camille chose a romantic and ceremonial restaurant for this occasion,
and, of course, this scene was planned and captured in advance.
However, Camille didn't expect Ayan to discover it.
His detective ability was too strong. He directly called his bodyguard,
who was following him, and had the person ready to take photos
restrained.
He walked towards the person, and Camille hurriedly followed. Ayan
said, "Wait for me at the seat, okay? I have something to deal with."
Camille naturally froze, her expression on her face extremely unnatural.
There was a hint of worry between her eyebrows, and her gaze
followed the person held by the bodyguard. The person had been
scared speechless, and his face turned extremely pale.
Camille hastily said, "Ayan, forget it!!!"
Camille wanted him to let it go, so nothing else would happen.
However, Ayan was a very petty person, so letting it go was impossible.
Ayan held her hand and walked towards the person. He stopped in
front of the person, and his expression was extremely cold. He said,
"Who arranged for you to come?"
The person subconsciously looked at Camille. His face was somewhat
panicked. He wanted to speak but hesitated because he didn't know if
he should.
Camille lightly pursed her lips. Before she could speak, Ayan
interrupted, "Smash his things. I don't want to see any footage related
to us. Find out who he works for. I don't want to see him in this circle.â
"Mr. Simpson, Mr. Simpson, please don't, Mrs. Simpson, Mrs. Simpson,
lL."
Camille's eyes interrupted, and she gently pulled Ayan, saying, âI need
to talk to you."
âLater, okay?"
"Now." Camille frowned slightly, her face extremely tense. She said
lightly, "He's someone I arranged.â
After Camille said this, the air seemed to freeze at that moment.
Ayan also frowned slightly, his expression somewhat indescribable.
He asked, "You arranged for someone to secretly photograph us? So,
the way you acted today was to be photographed deliberately?"
After Ayan finished speaking, he laughed.
A slight arc appeared at the corner of his mouth. He said, "Tell me,
what kind of trick are you playing?"
Camille was asked like this, especially with others around, and she had
no idea how to answer.
Camille slightly pursed her lips, her expression unusually cold. She said
softly, "Can I tell you later?"
Hearing her answer, Ayan didn't continue to ask. He just gave a glance
to the two bodyguards, and then let the bodyguards take the person
away.
Camille and Ayan returned to their seats. He stared at Camille without
blinking, his voice unusually hoarse. He asked, "Speak, what's going
on?"
Camille said softly, "Actually, there's nothing. I just wanted to see how
we look under the lens of a hidden camera.â
He naturally didn't believe her answer.
So there was no sound, just silently watching her like this. Camille felt a
bit uncomfortable being looked at like that, so she raised her eyes to
meet his gaze and asked in a low voice, "Why are you looking at me
like that?"
