Zadkiel was sitting on the bleachers watching the boys play lacrosse on the field when he felt someone sit beside him. As he was not watching the boys play but thinking about a certain someone, he hadnât noticed that the boys werenât playing anymore and were looking right at him and the person beside him.
He instantly turned his head to his right to get a shock. His heartbeat accelerated as he saw the man sitting right beside him.
âFather?â He was in complete shock.
âYes, son,â Mark answered as he gestured to the boys to continue the game.
âYou must be here for a purpose.â He turned his head back to look down at the boys playing the game.
âYouâre right. Iâve got another call from Edmond Ford.â Markâs words made him turn his head back to him as he was still in shock.
âThey still want to adopt me?â He asked, cursing Irvin in his head.
âYes.â
âFather, tell them I donât want to go with them. I willingly want to stay here with you.â He answered, hanging his head down and clenching his jaw in anger.
âBut this time, thatâs not the only problem. Edmond wants you to meet his son. He thinks that his son can make you change your mind.â Mark informed.
âWhat?! Tell him I donât wanna see his son. He canât change my mind.â Zadkiel was now beyond pissed at Irvin for going so far and even trying to manipulate him into this because the only way he could do this was through manipulation.
âI canât. He wants you to meet his son. I canât deny him. He is the top investor for this orphanage.â Mark stated, making him frown.
âWhat does that mean for me?â Zadkiel put out the question, raising his eyebrow.
âHeâll be here in an hour to pick you up for a ride. Be ready.â Mark stood up as he was finished with what he had to say. Zadkiel instantly followed.
âBut Father I donât want to.â He didnât want to see Irvin again. The first meeting that happened three weeks ago still had a very clear effect on him, he didnât want to refresh those feelings.
âBut you must, Zadkiel,â Mark commanded and turned around. He held Zadkiel by his shoulders and stared right into his eyes. âMake him believe that you donât want to go with him.â He ordered. Zadkiel gave a slight nod of his head. As much as he didnât want to go, he knew putting up a fight with Mark would fruit nothing so, he headed back to the sleeping hall to get himself ready for the trip.
As he was putting on a warm coat, Abel entered the hall and made his way to him. He was panting heavily because of the game and took few good moments to slow his breathing.
âWhat was he on about?â He questioned him, huffing breaths, referring to Father.
âIrvin is coming to take me on a drive to I donât know where. His father seems to be very fond of the idea of me being his son.â He rolled his eyes. Abelâs face turned serious at once and a scowl appeared on his face.
âThis is getting a little serious, mate. As much as I wanted you to use Irvin for all this, I donât like this at all. Why are they after you? This guy sounds like a creep to me now.â Abel spoke making him put on a smug face.
âI told you that this was something bigger than being interested in me. Itâs like he needs me for something like desperately. Well, letâs see what he has to say to me today.â He spoke as he lifted the duffle off his bed and pushed it back under the bed.
âNo, wait,â Abel spoke before he hurried to the third bed to Zadkielâs leftâs side and pulled out a duffle from under that bed.
âHey, thatâs Tobyâs bed!â Zadkiel stated.
âI know. Heâs got something you can use today on the guy if he steps out of line.â Abel answered, searching into his duffle.
âFound it.â Abel showed him the item he pulled out of the bag.
âA Taser?â He deadpanned. Abel nodded and threw it towards him, who caught it with one hand.
âDonât you think youâre overreacting? And by the way, we should ask Toby.â He examined the gun as he was speaking.
âYouâre underreacting and thatâs me who is saying it, which is a big thing if you think about it so, take it with you. Iâll talk to Toby.â Abel was persistent as he threw back Tobyâs duffle under the bed.
Suddenly, all of Zadkielâs body functions stopped when he was about to speak. His mouth was half-open as he was making a word. The only thing he felt was his increased impulse. His heart thudding and his breaths getting rapid. His body hair was giving a standing ovation and his brain was filled with that intoxicating smell. All he wanted was to rush to that smell and inhale it all in.
âWhat happened?â Abel asked in a whisper as he was shocked to see his friend glitch like a robot.
âHeâs here,â He whispered back, a whimper in his brain telling him to run to Irvin.
âWhat? You can feel him?â Abel questioned, looking at him weirdly.
âIn every bone of my body,â He answered as he put the Taser in the inner pocket of his coat.
âThatâs fucked up, bro,â Abel said in shock.
âOk, Iâm going.â He patted his pal before rushing out of the room. He had no idea what had gotten into him as he was running down the hallway to the front of the building, following the scent in the best way he could with the injection inside him.
Just when he was about to head out, he heard a voice and stopped in his steps.
âYou look in hurry.â The comment was passed by Mark. He turned right back to him and shook his head, even though it was a lie because all he wanted was to just run to Irvin.
âI was just doing what you asked me to do,â He murmured.
âHow do you know heâs here?â Mark squinted his eyes, looking at him suspiciously.
âI saw him through the window of the hall.â He lied confidently. Mark looked at him suspiciously for few more seconds before nodding.
âOff you go and make sure he understands that you donât want to go with him,â Mark instructed.
âYes, Father,â He mumbled before heading out at a somewhat calmer pace so Mark wouldnât suspect anything.
He headed straight for the familiar car, taking one step each although all he wanted was to just launch himself at Irvin of course he wouldnât do it. He opened the door very calmly and hopped on the passenger seat.
âYou are one stubborn piece of shit.â Those were the first words that came out of his mouth as he didnât even look at him and started doing his seatbelt.
âGlad you already know that,â Irvin answered, roaring the engine to life.
He turned his head to him and squinted his eyes. âYou owe me an explanation.â He scoffed at the curly-haired guy who shrugged, smirking at him. He didnât reply as he drove Zadkiel to somewhere.
âWhere are we going?â He questioned, keeping his eyes on the road, a pinch of anger in his voice and arms crossed over his chest.
âWhere we can talk in peace,â Irvin answered. He side-eyed Zadkiel who was still looking out on the road, looking pissed off.
âJust know that Iâm stronger than you think.â The black-haired beauty warned Irvin who held in the chuckle and pressed his lips together, nodding.
âHmm.â
âDo you think itâs funny?â Zadkiel sneered, glaring at him.
âNot at all. Itâs just⦠youâre so cute.â Irvin commented, making him gave him a death glare.
âWeâll see whoâs cute.â He rolled his eyes as he now looked completely away from Irvin, giving him a clue that he wasnât interested in talking to him anymore.
Once Irvin pulled over the car in the middle of nowhere, Zadkiel instantly got out of it and rotated on his axis to figure out where he was.
âWhatâs this place?â He questioned Irvin as he shut the driver seat door.
âUmm⦠a quiet place,â Irvin answered, making Zadkiel roll his eyes.
âWhy are we in the woods?â He scoffed at him.
âBecause I wanted to be in a quiet place.â Irvin put his hands inside his jeans pockets and slowly paced towards him.
âI donât care what you want! Take me to a crowded place. I donât trust you.â He spat, rolling his eyes for the hundredth time.
âReally?â Irvin squinted his eyes.
âWhat do you mean really? Of course, I donât trust you.â He chuckled bitterly.
âNo. I mean you donât care about what I want?â Irvin had a smirk on his face that Zadkiel so wanted to wipe off with a punch.
âWhy would I?â He crossed his arms on his chest and shook his head, looking away from Irvin.
âWell, for the starter, Iâm your Alpha,â Irvin spoke, making Zadkiel turn his head back to him.
âNot with this weird kink of yours again.â He sighed, face-palming himself.
âThis isnât a kink. Why donât you understand?!â Irvin was now frustrated. Zadkiel turned to him, sending daggers at him.
âOh let me guess. Because youâre a fucking freak! You asked your father to adopt me so you can toy with me?! How can you be so inconsiderate?! Your father agreed to get you a human slave so that his baby boy is happy?! Are you guys even human?!â He snapped at him.
âNo, weâre not,â Irvin answered calmly, making Zadkiel roll his eyes.
