Chapter 61 Derek Favors Her 38%
Finished With such a living, breathing person lying next to her, how could Madelyn possibly fall asleep?
In the quiet room, Madelyniâs eyes were wide open, showing no signs of deepiness.
Having had a few drinks, Sebastian fell into a deep sleep. It wasnât long before Madelyn could hear his soft, steady breathing As dawn broke, Madelyn finally succumbed to a hazy slumber.
She had barely slept for two hours when the sound of knocking, echoed from outside the door..
Madelyn despised being disturbed during her sleep. Given her light sleeping habits, the moment the door was knocked, her eyes shot open immediately.
She was seething with suppressed anger, yet before she could let it out, she heard Euniceâs voice from outside the door.
âMadelyn, itâs time to wake up and have breakfast. Todayâs breakfast is quite a feast.â Her voice was as soft as a marshmallow, Madelyn couldnât help but feel a surge of irritation. She was deeply convinced that Eunice was out of her mind.
What is she on about so early in the morning? Sheâs never been this attentive before.
At that moment, Eunice continued, âSebastian, wake up. Letâs have breakfast together. Mom and Dad are waiting for you downstairs.â
Sebastian awoke at the sound and furrowed his brows.
He had also stayed up late the previous night, and coupled with the effects of alcohol, he was now waking up with a noticeable headache.
Madelyn was visibly displeased. Sheâs so annoying.
Despite that, the two of them still got up and freshened up.
As she was changing her clothes, Madelyn let out a soft gasp due to the inconvenience of her arm.
Sebastian turned to look at her, noticing her clutching her arm and wincing in pain. She was halfway through putting on her clothes.
âLet me help you.â
Madelyn stepped back. âNo, thank you.â
âThen do you expect someone outside to help you?â Sebastian said coldly.
It was Eunice outside the door. Madelyn, of course, wasnât pleased.

Chapter 61 Derek Favors Her Finished During the process, his hand accidentally brushed against her body, triggering a wave of tingling sensation. Madelynâs face flushed a deep shade of red.
Sebastian, however, reacted as if nothing had happened, dutifully helping her get dressed.
Then, in a nonchalant manner, he said, âAll right, letâs head downstairs.â
Feeling somewhat embarrassed, Madelyn gave a slight nod and then descended the stairs with him.
Upon descending the stairs, she found Derek, Regina, and Eunice already seated around the table.
A hearty breakfast was already prepared on the table.
âCome down and have something to cat,â Derek said amiably.
Madelyn walked over with Sebastian.
Eunice, who was nearby, looked at them intently.
A flicker of jealousy flashed in her eyes when she saw them walk side by side.
She had always believed that Sebastian was an exceptionally remarkable man.
In every aspectâbe it appearance, family background, character, or abilitiesâhe was so flawless that criticism found no foothold.
Madelyn, on the other hand, was wild and crazy. How could she ever be a match for Sebastian?
Eunice was filled with resentment. Why didnât Dad arrange for me to marry Sebastian in the past?
Iâm clearly smarter and more sensible than Madelyn. Hmph, Dad is just too biased!
Fortunately, Eunice had heard that Madelyn was fond of Christopher, which was why her relationship with Sebastian wasnât great.
She felt much more at ease.
If Madelyn keeps this up, perhaps Iâll have a chance.
Euniceâs spirits lifted considerably. She said warmly, âMadelyn, Sebastian, come sit over here.â
Regina, fully cognizant of Euniceâs feelings, greeted Sebastian with an exceptionally cordial demeanor upon seeing him.
âSebastian, come have breakfast with us. I specifically asked the cook to prepare all these dishes.â
She sounded as if she were treating Sebastian as her own son.
Observing all this, Madelyn couldnât be bothered to respond. What a hypocrite. Theyâre just trying to curry favor with him.
She took her seat.

Chapter 61 Derek Favors Her Sebastian cast a somewhat puzzled glance at her, and so did everyone else.
Finished With so many eyes on her, Eunice immediately became a bit flustered, âOh, itâs... itâs nothing really. I just wanted to say that my sister is quite mischievous. She always seems to stir up trouble at home. In the past, she often gave Mom and Dad headaches.
So, I hope that you can keep a closer eye on her in the future.â
Sebastian hesitated for a moment. He didnât say anything and just gave a nonchalant nod.
Madelyn was visibly upset. âEunice, watch your words. When have I ever been a troublemaker? You really canât keep your mouth shut even when youâre eating.â
Regina said with displeasure, âMadelyn, how could you speak about Eunice like that? Sheâs your sister. Whatever she says, itâs all for your own good.â
âExactly...â Eunice said, her face full of grievance.
Madelyn gave an indifferent smile. âThank you, but I donât need it.â
âWhy are you so stubborn?â
Regina was infuriated. Indeed, a child without a mother truly lacks manners.
âEnough from all of you!â Suddenly, Derek erupted in anger. âSebastian is still here. Canât we just have a peaceful meal?â
Everyone fell silent despite the reluctance in their hearts.
Derek turned to Sebastian and said, âSebastian, Iâm sorry that you have to witness all that. I hope you donât mind.â
âItâs all right,â Sebastian responded nonchalantly. âWeâre all family here, so I donât mind. But I know Madelynâs personality better than anyone else. Since Iâve married her, I promise to take good care of her. I hope both of you can rest assured.â
These words were spoken with considerable calm and sincerity.
Madelynâs heart swelled with emotion, and the lingering resentment she had harbored was nearly washed away.
Derek was greatly comforted. âMaddie is lucky to have met a husband like you.â
Sebastian merely flashed a smile and remained silent.
At that moment, Madelyn suddenly said in a playful and cheerful tone, âDad, youâre lucky too to have a daughter like me. You should be content!â
Derek couldnât help but pinch her cheek. âYou little rascal, you really have some nerve. If you could just give me some peace of mind, Iâd consider myself very lucky.â
âOuch, it hurts...â Madelyn cried out in pain.
Despite everything, Derek felt a surge of happiness within him. He wasnât sure why, but his daughterâs return this time seemed to have brought them much closer than before.
