Chapter 131 1 Am Not Leaving *59%
Finished As the car turned the corner, the headlights of the car behind came chasing again.
Madelyn cursed under her breath. Are these people insane? Do they really want to kill me?
âThis isnât going to work. At this rate, it is only a matter of time before they catch up!â Madelyn said, her voice tensed.
âWhat do we do then?â Josiah was equally nervous. âBrat, be careful! I donât want to die!â
âYou think I do?â Madelyn retorted.
Then, she said calmly, âIf you want to live, hold on tight.â
What?
Josiah felt worse than ever. The car is already going so fast that it feels like it is about to take off! But seeing her action, does she mean to accelerate even more?
With that thought in mind, Josiah yelled. âAre you crazy? You want to speed up? Thatâs too dangerous!â
âYes, I am crazy! But I have to go faster. If they catch up with us, it will be even more dangerous!â Madelyn said coolly.
These people were determined to run her off the cliff, so she couldnât let them succeed.
âIsnât there another way?â Josiah asked, exasperated.
Madelyn suddenly smiled. âThere is.â
âWhat is it?â Josiah asked immediately.
Madelyn explained, âIf we keep going like this, theyâll never stop chasing us. So weâll speed up and get ahead of them. Weâll then quickly get out and hide.â
She looked at the dark surroundings. âWe are on a mountain. If we turn off the car lights, it will be pitch black, and hiding will be easy. They wonât be able to find us.â
Madelyn had thought this through during the drive. It was the only way.
âWhat? You are going to run?â
Hearing that Madelyn wanted to abandon the car and flee, Josiah was so shocked he nearly spit blood.
He was completely against the idea. âI wonât leave! No matter what, I wonât leave!â
This car was his prized possession. Naturally, he would never agree to leave it behind.
âIf we donât leave, we are going to die!â Madelyn argued.
However, Josiah wouldnât budge. âI donât care. I canât leave my car.â
1/3 Chapter 131 LAm Not Leaving The car surged forward, and Josiah nearly lost it. âYou maniac!â
Madelyn kept her face cold and serious, speeding down the road.
The cars chasing them saw this. One driver shouted, âThe car in front is insane!â
Finished One of them warned. âWe canât go any faster. We are already at the limit. If we speed up more, we wonât be able to control it!â
However, the driver said coldly, âWe have to speed up. Do you want Andy to blame us? We wonât survive if we fail!â
After speaking, he slammed on the accelerator, speeding up to catch up.
Right after he did that, he immediately lost control of the steering wheel!
No matter how he turned it, the tires wouldnât respond. The car skidded to a halt the middle of the road.
âWhatâs happening?â he exclaimed, looking flustered.
The car behind them couldnât brake in time and crashed into them with a loud bang.
Following that, the cars behind collided one after the other like sandwiches, creating a deafening chain of impacts.
There was even a car that completely lost control and soared right off the road.
The thunderous sounds reverberated through the valley, accompanied by the piercing screams of people. The noise was terrifying to hear.
âSomeone went off the cliff!â someone shouted.
The rest got out of their cars to check on the situation.
It was utter chaos.
Madelyn seized this moment to escape.
She floored the gas pedal, and the car sped away until she was sure no one was following them.
She then looked around and confirmed it was safe before urging, âGet out!â
She quickly unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of the car.
Alas, Josiah refused to leave. âNo! I canât abandon my baby! Do you know how much effort it took to assemble this car?â
Madelyn was furious.
This was their chance to escape, but he was hesitating and dillyâdallying. If they were caught, it would be over.

Madelyn was livid. She wanted to punch him but knew Josiah wouldnât respond to force.
The more she tried to force him, the more rebellious he would be. He wouldnât listen to her.
Finished She took a deep breath to calm down. âListen to me. Our lives are the most important now. If you are worried about your car, I promise Iâll get you the best equipment in the world that will be better than what you have now, okay?â
Josiah looked at her skeptically. âReally?â
âOf course. Trust me,â Madelyn said in exasperation.
Josiah thought for a moment but still clung to the seatbelt. âNo, I wonât. I painstakingly assembled my car. No matter how good other equipment may be, they canât compare to it. I am not leavingâ
âYou!â Madelyn was so furious she was about to explode.
Why didnât I realize in my past life that Josiah was so indecisive?
Seeing he wouldnât budge, she tried to persuade him again. âJust listen to me. Weâll park the car here on the side. They might not hit it, right?â
Josiah seemed unconvinced and cast a doubtful glance at her.
Just then, the sound of engines roared from behind.
Madelynâs heart sank. Sh*t. They are after us!
She panicked and shouted at Josiah, âTheyâre here! Wonât you run?â
Without waiting, she unbuckled Josiahâs seatbelt, grabbed his hand, and ran.
Caught off guard, Josiah was dragged out of the car.
Luckily, it was dark, and they quickly disappeared into the night.
Soon, the chasing cars arrived.
