"Yah, Choi Y/N why are you so good with guns?" Eunbi asked when they were training on how to use guns properly.
"Yeah, it's like you've used them before. You're a professional!" Yena exclaimed.
"Let's just say I have experience with them."Â Y/N simply answered.
"Did you notice how Ms. Yang stopped bothering you ever since you beat that record of hers?" Yena smiled. Ms. Yang still scolds other students, but she stopped scolding Y/N.
"She does keep looking at you though. I think she's impressed with how you use the guns as well." Eunbi added.
"Class is finished. You can all leave. Choi Y/N please stay behind." Ms. Yang suddenly yelled and Yena and Eunbi looked at Y/N with raised eyebrows.
"She didn't hear us talking right?" Yena worried.
"Nah, that's impossible." Eunbi shook her head.
"You guys go. I'll be fine."Â Y/N assured them.
"Okay, see you Monday Y/N-ah." Eunbi and Yena bid their goodbyes.
"I see you have experience with guns." Ms. Yang said when she approached Y/N.
"You can say that, yeah."
"Do you know why I'm so hard on you?" The woman asked out of the blue.
"Because I talk back to you and you find that annoying."
"That's not the reason. I actually know who you are Y/N-ssi."
"W-what do you mean?"Â Y/N became confused.
"I know who's daughter you are. All the teachers know."Â Y/N raised her eyebrows upon hearing that. If they all know, then why is she still here? Why didn't they throw her out?
"I scold all my students a lot. Especially the ones that have talent. I knew you had talent from the very first day I saw you training. I'm not pushing you because I don't like you. I'm pushing you because I want you to become better."
"Why? I mean why would you do that knowing that my dad is a gangster? Aren't you worried that I'm a spy or something?"Â Y/N questioned.
"I did my research on you and believe it or not there are many people here who were first in a gang or in the mafia. Including myself." The woman informed.
"Wait, what? You?"
"Yes. Me. I was in a gang when I was a teenager. Soon I realized that it wasn't what I wanted and then I became a cop."
"Oh wow. That's some new... information."Â Y/N is still confused.
"You remind me of myself a lot. I was just like you. I can see the passion burning in your eyes. I haven't had a student like that in years. You even beat my fucking record for God's sake." The woman laughed and Y/N joined. This is the first time that they're having a normal conversation.
"I'm sure you're going to become a good cop. That's why I will push you and scold you until you become even better. Don't take it personal. I actually do like you, I wish all my students were just like you but unfortunately most of them are weak and give up in the middle because they can't handle it." The woman explained.
"I know you had a difficult life, but believe me you made the right choice by coming here." Ms. Yang patted Y/N's shoulder.
"Thank you, Ms. Yang."
"Now, go home and rest for the weekend. You've worked hard this week. Also don't tell anyone about this conversation, I gotta maintain my reputation you know?" She laughed.
"I won't, I won't. Don't worry about it. But really thank you, Ms. Yang. This conversation means a lot to me."Â Y/N informed.
"I believe in you Y/N. I hope you won't disappoint me."
"I won't."Â Y/N smiled and with that she left the police academy.
"What the hell just happened?"Â Y/N asked herself. Ms. Yang was nice to her? She even complimented her?
Y/N decided to shrug it off for now and made her way to Sana's place. Jimin called her today saying that Sana hasn't been answering his calls and that she isn't showing up at the gang meetings. That doesn't sound like Sana at all, so Y/N wants to check up on her.
"Oh Y/N, what are you doing here?" Sana asked as she opened the door.
"Can I come in?"Â Y/N asked.
"Yeah, of course." The Japanese woman widened the door for Y/N to enter.
"You don't look okay. What's going on?"Â Y/N asked as she sat down on the couch.
"I'm okay. Why wouldn't I be okay?"
"You're not answering Jimin oppa's calls and you're skipping all the gang meetings. That isn't very usual, is it?"
"Why do you suddenly care about the gang? I thought you would be happy that I'm not going to the gang meetings."
"I don't care about the gang, but I do care about you. I know something's wrong. You've been acting weird ever since Nayeon's birthday. So just spill it."Â Y/N crossed her arms.
"It's about Dahyun isn't it?" Y/N could tell the answer just by looking at Sana's face.
"What happened? Did you guys talk that day?"
"Yes. I saw her sitting by herself on the balcony, so I went to her. Suddenly she started crying and she told me that she isn't okay. It's all my fault, Y/N. Months have passed and she's still hurting because of me." Sana said in frustration.
"How about you? How do you feel?"
"I feel like shit. I might look like I'm not hurting, but I am. Ever since we broke up, I feel like a part of me is missing." Sana admitted.
"And what are you going to do about it?"Â Y/N knows Sana well, the older girl is definitely planning something.
"I will leave the gang." Sana said weakly.
"WHAT?"Â Y/N yelled as she stood up. She didn't expect this answer AT ALL.
"I will leave the gang so I can win Dahyun back."
"That doesn't make any sense. You love being in the gang. And who says that Dahyun will go back to you after you leave the gang? Maybe she won't."
"Yes, I love being a gangster. But I also love Dahyun, Y/N-ie. Right now, I would rather have Dahyun than being a gangster. Besides I already told her that I would do it. I'm sure that I can win her back, when I leave the gang." Sana explained and Y/N just gave her a disappointing look.
"Yah, why are you looking at me like that? Didn't you always tell me to leave the gang?" Sana questioned.
"Yes, but not like this. I want you to leave the gang by your own choice, not because you have to. Besides I know how much you love being in the gang. I'd rather have you be a gangster then seeing you unhappy."Â Y/N acknowledged.
"I have no choice. It's either the gang or Dahyun."
"That's not true. I'm sure you can find the middle of it. Just talk to Dahyun first. Please think about it first. Don't be reckless, you know how hard it is to go back once you leave. So think about it and definitely talk to Dahyun. Try to compromise with her. I'm sure there's another way."Â Y/N suggested and Sana nodded. She'll try talking to Dahyun about it and maybe they can agree on some things.
--------------------------------------
After Y/N visited Sana, she went home. Nayeon's parents are still here. 10 days have passed since Nayeon's birthday, but they still haven't left because they really want to make sure that Y/N is the right person for their daughter. Besides they're having fun here. They hadn't visited Seoul in a long time, so it was also nice to catch up with some old friends.
"Nayeon is not home yet?"Â Y/N asked when she only saw the girl's parents but not her. Seoyeon left a few days ago though. She couldn't stay longer since she had to go back to work.
"Oh no, she didn't come yet." Mr. Im informed and Y/N nodded.
"Did you have dinner already?" Nayeon's mother asked and Y/N shook her head.
"Come join us. I made amazing Kimchi stew."
"Okay."Â Y/N smiled and sat down at the table.
"We're leaving tomorrow. Did Nayeon already tell you?" The woman asked.
"Yes, she told me. Why are you guys leaving already?"
"We need go back to work besides we don't want to disturb you two any longer." Nayeon's dad answered.
"You're not disturbing us at all. Please come back any time you want. Nayeon was really happy to have you here. She really missed you." Unfortunately Nayeon doesn't see her family as much as she'd like and sometimes she's sad about it.
"We missed her as well. I wish we lived near, then we could see her more often. We're always worrying about how she manages here all by herself but now that she's with you, we're a bit more at ease. You take good care of her." Ms. Im smiled.
"We actually wanted to talk to you before we leave." Mr. Im said in a serious tone which made Y/N worry.
"After seeing you two together for some time, we really saw that you're happy and that we worried for nothing. So we wanted to tell you that we approve of this relationship. At least for now." Ms. Im explained and Y/N couldn't hide her smile.
"But if you hurt our daughter, know that you won't get away with it easily." Mr. Im warned.
"Oh my God, thank you so much. I promise that I won't disappoint you and that I will never hurt your daughter."Â Y/N stood up out of happiness and bowed.
"Can I hug you?"Â Y/N suddenly asked. What is happening to her? She doesn't like to hug anyone except for Nayeon and now she's asking Nayeon's parents for a hug? It's probably because she's very happy right now.
"Sorry that was a weird question." Y/N shook her head but Ms. Im smiled as she gave Y/N a hug.
"Why is my unwanted girlfriend hugging my mother?" Nayeon showed up and let me tell you this scene is confusing the shit out of her.
"And why do you look so happy? Did something happen?" She asked her girlfriend.
"Your parents just told me that they approve of our relationship."
"Oh my God. For real?" Nayeon raised her eyebrows and hugged both of her parents tightly. Seeing how happy Nayeon is, her parents know that they made the right choice. The happiness of their daughter is all that matters.
"Okay, Nayeon-ah you're choking me." Her mother pushed her away lightly.
"Oh sorry. I'm just so happy." Nayeon squealed and they all smiled.
----------------------------------------
The next morning Nayeon's family got ready to leave. This is the longest they've been in Seoul ever since they moved to Busan.
"I'm going to miss you guys." Nayeon said as she hugged both of her parents.
"Please visit me more often." She added.
"You should also visit us. And bring Y/N with you too." Mr. Im suggested.
"Take care of our daughter Y/N-ah." Nayeon's mother said and hugged her. Who would've thought that Nayeon's mother was going to hug Y/N? Over the 10 days that they spend time with her, Ms. Im got to know Y/N a little bit better. Jihyo was right, Y/N is good for her daughter.
"I definitely will."Â Y/N answered.
"Alright, we should go now." The man said and both of them got in the car. They all waved to each other and the car left in slow speed.
"Didn't I tell you that it was going to be fine? You worried for nothing." Nayeon smiled as she wrapped her arms around Y/N's neck.
"It could have turned out the other way if I were an asshole like before."Â Y/N chuckled.
"Yes, but you're not. At least not anymore." Nayeon kissed Y/N's lips.
"Get ready. I'm taking you somewhere."Â Y/N suddenly said.
"What? Where are we going?"
"It's a surprise so get ready!"Â Y/N repeated.
"Ugh I hate it when you're so secretive." Nayeon pouted.
"C'mon, love. I promise you're going to like it so can you please go back upstairs and get ready?"Â Y/N asked nicely.
"I mean if you ask it like that then yeah I will." Nayeon ran inside like a little kid as Y/N shook her head.
"Yah! Why are you taking so long?"Â Y/N is starting to lose patience. It's been almost an hour.
"I'm almost done!"
"You've been saying that for the past 20 minutes!"Â Y/N sighed.
"Here, I'm ready geez." Nayeon also said in frustration.
"Okay, let's go."Â Y/N held her girlfriend's hand and they left the apartment.
"How am I going to drive if I don't even know where we're going?" Nayeon questioned.
"I'll give you the directions."Â Y/N answered and the two got in the car as Nayeon started driving.
"Y/N aren't you thinking about getting your driver's licence?" Nayeon knows this is a sensitive topic to Y/N but she still decided to ask.
"No, after finding out about that accident there's no way that I can drive again."
"Babe... Like you say it was an accident." Nayeon caressed the younger's arm.
"I just can't drive. Please don't insist."Â Y/N sighed. Truth is, driving gives her too much anxiety. Whenever she drives, it feels like she's going to have an accident any moment. It's kinda funny isn't it? This girl is not afraid of gangsters and guns but she is afraid of driving.
----------------------
"Y/N why are we driving in the middle of nowhere?"
"We're almost there just keep driving."
"Yah! Are you planning on killing me?" Nayeon yelled.
"If I was planning that, I already would have done it. Don't you think? You can stop here by the way."Â Y/N gestured to the left.
"Now follow me, Im Nayeon."Â Y/N intertwined her fingers with Nayeon's and they started walking somewhere into the woods. After about 5 minutes walking, Y/N suddenly stopped.
"Are you finally going to tell me what we're doing here?" Nayeon asked.
"Yes, we're going to do this."Â Y/N said and took out a gun from her pocket.
"Oh my God, are you finally going to teach me how to use it?" Nayeon got excited.
"Yes. You kept complaining about it so here we are." This is the place where Y/N always comes to whenever she's feeling down. Here she can just use her gun and no one can say anything about it because there is no one here anyways.
"Stay here."Â Y/N told Nayeon and went to the other side. There were some empty bottles. She placed them all next to each other and went back to Nayeon.
"How about a little demonstration first?" Nayeon requested.
"Alright."Â Y/N brought up the gun and started to shoot. She fired 3 times and within those 3 times she shot 3 bottles, meaning she didn't miss any.
"That was so fucking hot." Nayeon is getting turned on by seeing Y/N use a gun.
"Oh really? It's your turn now. Come stand here."Â Y/N guided her girlfriend to the place.
"Now hold the gun."Â Y/N handed her the gun.
"The most important thing is to aim right. Anyone can fire a gun, but not everyone can aim right. Close one eye and try to aim for one of the bottles."Â Y/N explained.
"Your posture is kinda wrong. Let me show you."Â Y/N went closer to Nayeon and fixed her posture. They're very close to each other right now so they're both a blushing mess.
"Is this right seongsaengnim?" Nayeon smirked.
"What did you just call me?"Â Y/N raised her eyebrows.
"Seongsaengnim." The older girl repeated.
"The tables have turned huh?"Â Y/N chuckled.
"That's my nickname for you, not the other way around, okay?"Â Y/N doesn't like it when it's the other way around.
"Try to shoot."
"Okay." Nayeon said and for the first time in her life she fired a gun. And she actually managed to break one of the bottles.
"Oh my God, did you see that?" Nayeon laughed.
"Be honest, was that the bottle you were aiming for?"
"No..." Nayeon said almost like a whisper.
"Then that's called beginner's luck." Y/N patted Nayeon's back. Y/N continued to teach her girlfriend how to aim and surprisingly Nayeon is pretty good at it.
"It's this also beginners luck?" Nayeon asked after she fired 5 bottles in 5 shots.
"No that's just called being good. As excepted from my girlfriend."Â Y/N pulled Nayeon closer by her waist.
"Now that I can use a gun I can protect you as well."Â Y/N is the one that always protects both of them, that's why Nayeon wanted to learn how to use a gun so that she can also be useful in a dangerous situation.
"Believe me it's really different when you're in a dangerous situation. You might aim wrong out of fear or nervousness."Â Y/N informed.
"At least I know how to use it now." Nayeon said and looked into Y/N's eyes lovingly. They had eye contact for about 5 seconds until Y/N decided to pull her into a kiss. Y/N kissed her girlfriend passionately, both enjoying the taste of their lips against each other.
"We should continue this at home." Nayeon pulled away.
"Why not here?"Â Y/N smirked.
"Are you crazy? We're in the middle of nowhere!" Nayeon hit her arm.
"Exactly, no one can see us."
"There's no way I'm doing it here, that's just gross." Nayeon acted like she was disgusted by the thought of it.
"But it's kinky."Â Y/N smirked once again.
"You know I really hate it when you smirk like that. You also did it when you were my student." Nayeon acknowledged.
"It's my signature smirk. Try to love it because there's no way I'm stopping with that."Â Y/N changed many things but no, she's not going to change that signature smirk of hers that a lot of people hate.
"Ugh, you're so annoying." Nayeon started to walk away.
"Yah! Where are you going! I was going to give your birthday gift here!"Â Y/N continued to tease her. She knows very well that Nayeon won't have any sex in the middle of the woods but she just likes to tease her.
"I'm starving, can we go eat somewhere?" Nayeon asked as she held her stomach.
"Sure, let's go." And with that the two went back to the car and went to a small ramyeon restaurant.
"I'm going to the bathroom. Just order for the two of us." Y/N said and went to the bathroom while Nayeon sat at a table. They come to this restaurant from time to time and Y/N always eats the same thing so Nayeon knows what to order.
After Y/N came out of the bathroom she saw a male waiter talking to Nayeon. This man always talks to Nayeon whenever he has the chance and he's obviously flirting with her. This scene has been happening a lot lately. She gets it. Nayeon is pretty and attractive so they're all trying to flirt with her, which is normal but it just annoys the shit out of her that Nayeon doesn't seem to realize that they have other intentions other than being friendly.
"Euhum."Â Y/N cleared her voice as she approached the table.
"Oh Y/N you're back." Nayeon smiled and Y/N glared at the guy, intimidating him.
"U-uh, I should go and get your order Nayeon-ssi." The guy said and left while Nayeon nodded.
"He knows your name?"
"Yeah, he asked it the last time we were here." Nayeon answered. Luckily their food came fast and they started eating but Y/N kept glaring at the guy and Nayeon noticed something was up.
"Who do you keep glaring at?"
"The waiter."Â Y/N said in a heavy tone.
"Why?" Nayeon is confused.
"He keeps looking at you."
"He's just trying to be friendly." The teacher said and Y/N chuckled upon hearing that.
"No, he obviously has interest in you."
"Yah, stop thinking that every guy that's friendly to me has other intentions." Nayeon slurped her ramyeon.
"Are you serious? Anyone can see that he was flirting with you. Are you that fucking dense to not notice?"
"Are you seriously mad right now? I didn't even do anything." Nayeon is confused as hell. Why is Y/N being like this?
"Hell yeah you did. You should make it clear that you have a girlfriend and that you have no interest in them but instead you smile and tell them your name."
"I'm just trying to be friendly, besides you always make it clear to anyone who comes near me that you're my girlfriend."
"Yeah, because you never fucking do."Â Y/N has been keeping quiet until now, but she just can't do it anymore. It really annoys her how Nayeon acts whenever people flirt with her.
"I can't believe you're seriously mad at me right now. You always flirt with other girls, do you hear me complaining?" Nayeon is also starting to get annoyed and this discussion is slowly getting heated.
"When did I ever flirt with someone that's not you?" The younger girl questioned.
"All the fucking time! Every time someone flirts with you, you fucking flirt back! When did you ever see me flirt back, huh?"
"You know that I don't mean to flirt with them like that, besides I always tell them that I have a girlfriend while you don't. I'll bet a 100 dollars that that waiter there doesn't even know that you're taken."
"Fuck, I really hate it that you're so fucking possessive all the time." Nayeon held her head in frustration.
"Me? Possessive? We've been dating for like four months now, did you ever hear me say something about this? This is the first time that I'm talking about how I feel and you're not even listening!" They're starting to catch the attention from the people around them since their voices are getting louder as they continue the conversation.
"If you weren't possessive you wouldn't be reacting this way. I literally didn't do anything!"
"That's the fucking problem! You never do anything, you never say that you're taken you just smile at them and you're all friendly with them when they obviously have other intentions!"
"I can't believe you're mad at me for something you do as well. Have you ever heard me complain about it? No, because I trust you but it's clear YOU don't." Nayeon emphasized the word you.
"I do trust you, I just don't trust the people around you."Â Y/N admitted.
"Also don't try to change the subject. If I'm possessive then you're possessive as well. You always get angry whenever a girl just approaches me." Â The younger girl added.
"You know what, I thought you had changed but you're still the possessive Y/N from back then. At least now you're not punching and threatening them."
"You did not just say that."Â Y/N said in an angry tone.
"I did and I'm going, I can't have this conversation with you right now." Nayeon stood up.
"Don't come back home unless you make up your mind. You're literally mad at me for nothing." She added and left the place leaving Y/N in big frustration.
"What are you all looking at?" The teenager yelled at everyone in the restaurant and they immediately looked away, but one person didn't. The waiter from earlier was smirking making Y/N even more angry. She stood up and suddenly pinned him against the wall.
"Talk to her one more time and I'll fucking kill you. Do you understand that?" She whispered so that only he can hear it.
"You're fucking crazy!" He yelled but Y/N ignored him.
"Oh wait, here."Â Y/N got some money from her pocket and threw it to the guy. "Keep the change."
--------------------------------
Y/N has been walking for two hours now. She couldn't go home since Nayeon told her to only come back when she made up her mind. Was she too harsh on Nayeon? Was she wrong by confronting her about this matter? They have some disagreements from time to time but this is the first time, ever since they started dating again, that they fought like this. It was like one of those fights that they had when they were dating when Y/N was still her student.
Y/N just kept walking and thinking about everything, until her phone started ringing. She was really hoping for it to be Nayeon but it was actually Jimin
"What's up, oppa?"
"Y/N..." His voice sounded sad. "Dad... He's... He's dead, Y/N." Y/N suddenly felt like she got stabbed upon hearing her brother say that.
"W-what do you mean he's dead?"Â Y/N knew he was going to die, but she thought that he would live for at least another few months. She didn't expect him to die this soon.
"He died a couple of hours ago."
"Where are you? I'm coming."Â Y/N asked and went to her brother as fast as she could. When she went to his house, all the gangsters were gathered there.
"Y/N, he left you this." Taehyung handed her a letter. She doesn't want to read it, but maybe this time he wrote something different so she decided to read it in another room where no one could disturb her.
"Here we go." She sighed to herself.
Dear Y/N,
I don't know if you're going to read this, but by the time that you do, I will be dead. There are so many things that I want to say to you, but I don't even know where to begin. I have regrets, Y/N. Many of them. I know you hate me and you have every right to do that. I deserve it. When I was in prison I had the chance to think about everything that I did in my life. I don't regret being a gangster and doing bad things but there are two things that I do regret.
One of them is killing your mom and the other one is abandoning you. All your life you thought that your mom and I didn't love each other right? We told you that we got forced to get married because we had you at a young age, but it's not true. I did love your mom, she's actually the only woman that I have ever loved, but she never wanted to support me in what I did. That's why we fought all the time. Then that day I just got so mad that I did something awful. I killed her right in front of your eyes. I don't know how it happened. I didn't mean to kill her like that. The monster in me took over and took her life away from her. I wasn't myself and I wasn't the one controlling my actions. It was my mental illness.
After I did it, I didn't know what to do with you so I just decided to leave you behind. I figured you wouldn't want to be with the murderer of your mother. To be honest with you, I have 8 children. Two of them are older than you and the others are younger. I don't really care about any of them except for Jimin and for you. Jimin is the only one who bothered to build up a bond with me and now he's a great gangster. He's following my footsteps and I'm proud of him.
As for you... You're different than any of them Y/N. After I left you, I couldn't stop thinking about you, that's why wherever you went, I always send someone to look after you. When I got out of prison, I finally had decided to ask for your forgiveness but the look in your eyes every time you saw me only showed hate. I really regret everything that I did to you, please believe me. If I could turn back in time then I would. I would try to be a good dad instead of running away like a coward.
I thought that maybe it wasn't too late to become a good father but then I found out that I was going to die. I figured that it would be worse if I die after you forgive me, so I just gave up. I couldn't ask you for forgiveness knowing that I was going to die soon. I'm really a coward, Y/N. I can easily kill and hurt people, but when I care about them, I don't know how to show it because it isn't something that I've ever experienced. Even though I'm dead now, I still hope you'll forgive me for everything I did. I know it's not easy, but I wish for us to, at least in the afterlife, to have a good father-daughter relationship.
When I saw how happy you were when I came to visit you, I was also happy. Happy that you managed to turn out great despite what you went through. I never had any love in my life, Y/N. I never had people that cared about me but you do. You have great friends and you have an amazing girlfriend that loves you a lot. Don't you ever hurt them, don't make the same mistakes as I did. Hold on to them as long as you can, show them that you love them and that you appreciate them. I know you're going to be very happy with Nayeon. I really hope for you two to have a family in the future and I wish you all the best.
Once again I'm sorry, Y/N. I know my mental illness is no excuse for all of this, but I know you can understand because I know you also have these demons in you. You and I, we both have demons in us, but there's one huge difference between you and I. You're winning in the fight against them but I lost...
Sincerely,
Your father.
Y/N shed a tear after reading the letter. She should be happy that he died. This is the moment she was waiting for, but why isn't she happy? Why is her heart hurting? She kept crying not even knowing why, until she decided to leave this place. She shouldn't be crying for her father that killed her mother and turned her childhood into a hell.
"Y/N? Where are you going? Y/N!" Sana yelled after her but Y/N ran out of the house as fast as she could.
"Will she be okay?" Taehyung asked.
"She'll be okay. Don't worry. We should leave her alone for now." Sana said.
--------------------------------------
It's 11pm and Y/N is still not home. Nayeon is starting to get worried. She called Y/N a few times but the girl isn't picking up.
"Aish, Y/N. Where are you?" Right when Nayeon was about to call again, Y/N entered the apartment. She didn't even look at Nayeon and went straight to the bedroom. Is she serious? She's not even going to talk about what happened?
"Y/N we need to talk." Nayeon said as she also went into the bedroom.
"Can we talk tomorrow?"Â Y/N asked with her back facing Nayeon.
"We need to talk now. This can't wait."
"Please. Let's do this tomorrow."Â Y/N pleaded.
"Y/N please, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say that, I just said it out of anger, I didn't mean it." Nayeon said but Y/N still didn't turn around.
"Can you at least please look at me?" Nayeon questioned, but once again no answer. Why is she acting like a kid? The teacher is starting to get annoyed.
"Y/N!" Nayeon decided to turn her girlfriend around, but she was surprised to see her girlfriend's eyes teary and red.
"Did you cry? What happened?" Nayeon suddenly got worried and cupped her cheek.
"Is it because of our fight? Y/N I'm really sorry. You're right, I should make it clear to them that I have a girlfriend. Just don't be mad at me anymore, please."
"I'm not mad at you."
"Then what's going on? Can you tell me?" Nayeon can sense that something else is going on. Y/N wouldn't cry over a fight like this.
"Read this." Y/N handed her the letter of her father and went back to the living room. Nayeon opened it in all confusion and started to read it. As she was reading her eyes also got teary. She can't imagine how much Y/N is hurting right now.
"Y/N..." Nayeon sat down next to the younger girl on the couch.
"I wish he would've told me all of this before he died."Â Y/N said. "I should be feeling happy but why am I sad?"
"Because he's your dad. No matter what a parent does, children will still care about them. Even if it's deep down." Nayeon caressed Y/N's arm.
"I'm not even 20 yet and I've already lost both of my parents." Y/N chuckled. Don't be deceived. Y/N may look like she's smiling right now, but she's actually really hurting. She's smiling to cover up the pain and Nayeon knows this very well.
"Come here, baby." Nayeon pulled her into a tight hug and again a tear escaped from Y/N's eye.
"You're not alone, okay? You have me, you have your friends and you also have your brother. We won't be leaving you alone." Nayeon assured her.
"I'm sorry for today."Â Y/N said pulling away.
"You don't have to be sorry, you were right. You tried to talk about what bothered you but I just cut you off like I did before. I made the same mistake as I did before. But I promise I won't do it anymore. If you ever get bothered by something like this again please tell me. We need to communicate as much as we can."
"Everyone that I care about is slowly leaving me one by one. You're also going to leave me, won't you? I don't deserve any love. That's why the universe is taking everyone away from me."Â Y/N suddenly said and Nayeon got taken aback.
"No, no, no. Don't you say that. You deserve all the love in the world."
"Then why are both my parents gone? My mom died at the age of 28 and my dad at the age of 40. They were too young to die. Will I also die this young? Or is the universe going to make me suffer and take everyone who I care about away from me first?"Â Y/N didn't even look at her girlfriend while she was talking. She doesn't want Nayeon to see how fucked up she is right now.
"Babe stop... That's not going to happen. The reason why they both died is because of your dad and now he's gone. There's nothing that can go wrong from now on. He's gone, Y/N. He can't hurt you anymore."
"But the same demons that he has are also in me. They're right here. I have to battle with them everyday."Â Y/N gestured to her head.
"Remember what your dad said in that letter? He lost against them, but you're winning Y/N. You came so far and you're leading the battle. Don't give up. Also I won't be leaving you, so get that thought out of your head. I won't leave unless you want me to." Nayeon assured her.
"I would never want that. You're the only thing that's keeping me alive."Â Y/N admitted.
"I love you, Y/N. I want to be with you for the rest of my life. Please don't push me away because you think that you don't deserve love. Don't hurt us. Fight for us, please." The older girl pleaded as she looked down.
"Unnie, look at me. I will fight for you because I love you. I love you so fucking much you have no idea." This time Y/N was the one that comforted Nayeon as she cupped her face. They stared into each other's eyes and they both leaned in slowly as their lips made contact. It was a slow kiss full of love. Nayeon could taste both of their tears on their lips.
"You should sleep now. You look very tired." Nayeon suggested as she pulled away and was taken aback when Y/N suddenly laid her head on her girlfriend's lap.
"Can we just stay like this for a moment?" The teenager asked and Nayeon nodded as she caressed the younger girl's hair. Not even five minutes passed and Y/N already fell asleep. She's definitely not the type of person to fall asleep so fast but she had a long ass day.
Nayeon looked at her sleeping girlfriend and her heart is breaking for her.
"You don't deserve to go through so much at such a young age. But I promise you, I will never leave your side and I will love you till the day I die. This is a new beginning for you Y/N. A chance for you to start over, please use it wisely." Nayeon whispered even though she's well aware that Y/N cannot hear her.
And Just like Nayeon said, it was indeed a new beginning for Y/N...
