Chapter 54

Y/N woke up early today. She looked at her right and saw that Nayeon is still sleeping peacefully. Since it's the older girl's birthday today Y/N didn't even bother to wake her up. Y/N wanted to go out of her room but what if Nayeon's parents are already awake? It's going to be so awkward to face them without Nayeon by her side. However Y/N still decided to go out of the room. It's pretty early. They have no reason to wake up this early. When Y/N got out of the room she sighed in relief to see that no one is awake yet. She could even hear Seoyeon snoring on the couch. She immediately went to the kitchen and started to prepare some breakfast.

"Trying to impress us by making breakfast, huh?" Seoyeon suddenly showed up in the kitchen, startling Y/N.

"Oh not really. I'm always the one that makes breakfast since I wake up earlier than your sister." It's true though. Y/N is the one who makes breakfast and Nayeon usually makes dinner.

"Yeah, sure." The girl rolled her eyes.

"Are you bothering my girlfriend again?" Nayeon also walked into the kitchen.

"No, why would I do that?" The girl rolled her eyes.

"Good morning babe. Happy birthday." Y/N smiled.

"Thank you, baby." Nayeon gave Y/N a quick kiss.

"Fuck. My eyes." Seoyeon looked away.

"Breakfast is ready." Y/N informed.

"Seoyeon-ah, go get mom and dad." Nayeon said and luckily the younger girl obeyed.

"Smells pretty good." Mr. Im said as he came to the table.

"Well, Y/N prepared it." Nayeon smiled and everyone sat down as they started eating.

"What is the plan for today, Nayeon-ah?" Her mom asked.

"Well, I need to go grocery shopping first then we need to prepare the food and drinks and just decorate the apartment."

"What time will we have dinner?" Her sister asked.

"I told everyone to come around 6, so just after that I guess."

"What can we do to help?" Nayeon's father asked.

"Oh you don't have to help. Y/N and I will take care of it."

"No, no, we should help. We're going to be here for long anyways." Y/N got confused by what Mr. Im said. What does he mean by "long"? By seeing Y/N's expression Nayeon remembered that she didn't tell her girlfriend yet.

"Ah Y/N, I forgot to tell you. They will be staying here for a bit longer."

"Oh really?" Y/N raised her eyebrows.

"You don't seem happy." Seoyeon chuckled.

"Oh no, I am happy. It's nice to get to know Nayeon's family. Stay here as long as you want." Y/N assured them but unfortunately none of them really looked at her.

"How about Seoyeon goes grocery shopping with you while we help Y/N to decorate the place?" Ms. Im suggested.

"Yah, are you crazy? We can't leave you alone with her." Seoyeon said to her parents.

"I think that's a good idea." Nayeon informed and Y/N looked at her with eyes that said please don't leave me alone with them.

"No, it's absolutely the worst idea. Who knows what she'll do when we're gone?"

"Stop complaining. You're going with your sister while we're staying with Y/N. End of discussion." Ms. Im scolded her. Nayeon's parents just want to get to know Y/N better and they can do that the best when Seoyeon and Nayeon aren't around.

"You'll be fine, don't worry." Nayeon whispered into Y/N's ear when she saw how nervous Y/N suddenly got.

"Anyways, Seoyeon-ah, we should go." Nayeon said as she pulled her sister with her.

"You three will be fine, right?" Nayeon asked with a bit worry in her eyes.

"Yes. Don't worry, we won't give your girlfriend a hard time." The man assured.

"Call me if something's wrong."

"I can't believe you're leaving them alone with her." Her sister shook her head.

"Yah, stop it. Y/N isn't a monster. It'll be fine." Nayeon said and with that the two left. Y/N may actually die from how nervous she is.

"I-I, I should clean up the table." She said weakly.

"Where are the decorations?" Ms. Im asked.

"Oh, they're right here." Y/N said as she took out some balloons and other birthday decorations. She went to clean up the table while Nayeon's parents started decorating. When she was done with cleaning the table she went to help out her girlfriend's family.

"Are you always this silent or is it because of us?" Mr. Im asked.

"O-oh, I'm more on the quiet side usually." Y/N can be talkative at times but most of the time she doesn't talk that much. She only talks when she has to.

"Jeongyeon was pretty talkative so I'm surprised Nayeon fell for someone who's this quiet." Y/N is slowly getting annoyed by how Ms. Im keeps bringing up Jeongyeon.

"Yeah, she is talkative."

"You met Jeongyeon?" Mr. Im asked when Y/N was blowing up some balloons.

"Yes, she was my teacher as well."

"Honey, Seoyeon told us yesterday remember? Jeongyeon worked at the same school and Y/N got expelled for hitting her." Nayeon didn't really tell Y/N what her parents know, but it seems like they know a lot.

"Seems like you don't like Jeongyeon." Ms. Im said shaking her head.

"It's not that I don't like her. She's actually okay, we just didn't meet in good circumstances."

"You met her after you started dating our daughter?" Nayeon's dad asked.

"No, I actually met her before." Her parents would be surprised if they know how Y/N and Jeongyeon really met. If it wasn't for Y/N, Jeongyeon might have had hurt Nayeon badly.

"You already know that we don't really approve of this relationship, don't you?" Nayeon's dad asked.

"Yes. I knew the moment I started dating your daughter." Y/N answered as she was decorating as well.

"How did you know?"

"It's always like that. When people find out who's daughter I am they start hating me without even trying to get to know me. They think I'm the same like my dad without knowing what I went through." Y/N explained.

"Would you say you're different than him? If so, why do you think you're different?" The woman questioned.

"People always think that I look after my dad but no one really asks what kind of person my mother was. Yes, my dad is horrible. He's one of the most heartless people that I have ever met but my mom was nothing like that. She was nice and friendly and totally the opposite of him. People automatically think that I'm like my dad, but what if I'm actually like my mom? Before she passed away, she always told me to be a good person and she made me even promise that I won't become like my dad." Y/N's eyes became teary upon thinking about her mother. She misses her a lot.

"You must miss her a lot." Mr. Im saw how sad Y/N looked. He's suddenly feeling a bit of empathy towards the teenager, but Ms. Im doesn't. She thinks this is all an act. Nayeon and her father might fall for it but she won't.

"Yeah, I do. I just wish she was beside me. I bet my life would've turned out way better if she was still here."

"I see you went through a lot but don't you think this is a bit unfair towards Nayeon? I mean Nayeon grew up in a nice family and she had a good childhood and good life. While you, you didn't. You've never received any love from your family. How will you start a family if you don't even know what love is?" Nayeon's mother asked.

"I do know what love is. I might have never received it from my dad, but when my mom was alive, she made sure to give me all the love that she had. Besides Nayeon taught me what love is. And I know that I love her and I know that I can give her everything that she deserves."

"If you really loved her, you wouldn't be with her. She could have an easy and happy life with someone else, but with you she'll only have a sad and miserable life. If you really care about her then let her go. Leave her before it gets out of hand." The woman patted Y/N's back and disappeared into the kitchen. This woman is really annoying the shit out of Y/N right now. Yes, Nayeon would probably have an easier life if she was with someone else but that doesn't mean she'll be unhappy with Y/N. Y/N will never make Nayeon sad or miserable. She won't allow that.

"Don't listen to her. We told Nayeon that we're going to give you a chance and that's what we'll do. Just hold on and show them that this is a healthy and good relationship." Mr. Im told her. Luckily Nayeon's father is a good man who believes in his daughter's choices.

"We're back!" Nayeon yelled when she entered the apartment. Y/N immediately ran towards them and got the heavy bags from Nayeon.

"Mom and dad are alive. Guess Y/N didn't make a move yet." Seoyeon said in an annoying tone.

"Yah, how many times do I have to tell you to stop?" Nayeon scolded her.

"Wah, you guys decorated the place pretty nicely." Nayeon noticed.

"Yeah, you're parents were of big help." Y/N informed.

"We just need to prepare dinner now. Babe, can you join me in the kitchen?"

"Yeah of course." Y/N answered and followed Nayeon into the kitchen.

"How did it go? Did they give you a hard time?" Nayeon asked her girlfriend.

"No, it was pretty okay actually."

"Then why do you seem bothered? They said something didn't they?" Nayeon can see the look on Y/N's face. She's obviously bothered by something.

"No, no, they didn't." Y/N lied.

"Y/N..." Nayeon looked at the younger girl with raised eyebrows.

"Just tell me please. Didn't we say that we'll get through this together?" Nayeon asked as she caressed Y/N's arm.

"Your mom told me that I should leave you if I really care about you."

"I knew she was going to say something like that. Don't think about it too much, okay? She'll change her mind." Nayeon assured.

"I hope so. Enough about that though, how is the birthday girl feeling?" Y/N smiled.

"I'm feeling great. I have my girlfriend and my family by my side. What else can a girl want?"

"This is your day. Enjoy it, okay?" Y/N said before she pulled the teacher into a long loving kiss.

"Yah, stop it. We still need to prepare dinner." Nayeon said pulling away as she hit Y/N's chest. After about two hours the doorbell rang indicating that someone came. Y/N knows it's Tzuyu since she asked her to come early yesterday.

"I'll get it." Y/N said and went to open the door.

"Where's Dahyun-ie?" Y/N asked when she only saw Tzuyu and Momo in front of her.

"She's going to come a bit later so I brought Momo unnie instead." Tzuyu answered.

"That's good enough I guess." Y/N sighed and let the two girls in.

"Yah, what do you mean by  good enough? I'm literally the best." Momo yelled, making the two girls laugh.

"Ah, Tzuyu-yah, Momo-yah, you're here. Let me introduce you to my parents."

"Mom, dad, these are our friends. Tzuyu and Momo."" Nayeon introduced them while the two teenagers bowed.

"Oh nice to meet you girls. You two seem young so I'm guessing you're Y/N's friends?" Nayeon's mom asked.

"Ah yes. We were Y/N's friends first but eventually befriended Nayeon unnie as well." Momo answered.

"Where's Seoyeon unnie?" Tzuyu asked. All of their friends have actually met Seoyeon before.

"She went out for a bit." Y/N informed.

"What can we help with?" Momo asked.

"You two can help us in the kitchen. Let's go." Nayeon pulled the two girls into the kitchen. After about another two hours, everything was ready and now they're waiting for their other friends to arrive.

"I'll get that." Nayeon said as she walked to the door.

"Aaah, come in." It's Sana and Jihyo.

"Happy birthday, Nayeon unnie." Both of them said and Nayeon gave them a nice hug.

"Hello, Ms. Im and Mr. Im." Jihyo bowed to them.

"Ahh, Jihyo-yah we missed you." Nayeon's mom hugged her.

"We missed Sana too, didn't we?" The man asked but Ms. Im didn't answer. She doesn't really like Sana even though she doesn't know that she's a gangster. Imagine what would happen if she knows that Sana is a gangster.

"I think that'll be Mina and Chaeyoung." Sana said when the doorbell rang once again. She went to open the door but was met with her ex-girlfriend instead.

"D-dahyun-ah?" Sana stuttered. Dahyun knew that Sana was going to be here, but she didn't expect for them to have an encounter this soon. Luckily Nayeon saw the awkward interaction and was there to save the moment.

"Dahyun-ah! Come in!" Nayeon pulled her inside.

"Happy birthday unnie." Dahyun smiled and handed her the gift which Nayeon gladly accepted. Sana just kept staring at her ex-girlfriend since she didn't expect her to be here.

"Y'all just leave the door open like this?" Tiffany also showed up followed by Irene.

"Wow there are more people than I expected." Irene said.

"Yeah, my family is also here, that's why." Nayeon mentioned as she welcomed them.

"Happy birthday, Nayeon-ah." Tiffany and Irene both congratulated her.

"I'm so hungry can't we eat already?" Momo whined.

"We're waiting for Mina and Chaeyoung." Y/N informed.

"Why are they taking so long? I bet they're doing... stufff." Momo was about to say something but she stopped once she realized how Nayeon's parents were looking at her.

"We're here, Momo unnie. Stop whining." Chaeyoung and Mina also walked in.

"Thank God, we can eat now."

"So how do you all know our daughter? I only know Sana and Jihyo, but this is the first time I'm seeing all the rest of you." Ms. Im never knew that Nayeon had this many friends. She's curious on how she met all of them.

"Tzuyu, Mina, Momo, Dahyun and I are Y/N's friends." Chaeyoung answered.

"So Nayeon was also your teacher? And Jihyo your principal?" The father asked.

"Yes." All the girls nodded.

"How about you two?" The woman asked Tiffany and Irene.

"I was Y/N's guardian and we used to live together until Y/N moved in with Nayeon." Tiffany said.

"Y/N lived with me for some time as well. You can say we're like her second moms." Irene chuckled. Nayeon's parents now see that most of Nayeon's friends are actually Y/N's friends. They all seem so nice though, why did they befriend Y/N knowing who she is?

Luckily the dinner was nice and everyone seemed to be having fun, including Nayeon's family. Sana and Dahyun didn't say that much though, it was a bit awkward for them to sit at the same table after not seeing each other for like 3 months.

"It's time for the birthday cake. Dahyun-ah can you help me get it?" Y/N asked and Dahyun followed her into the kitchen.

"Woah, the cake is so big." Dahyun raised her eyebrows.

"Yeah, you girls eat a lot so I had to get a big one." Y/N laughed.

"Are you okay though? I didn't think you would come. What changed your mind?" Y/N questioned.

"I realized that I have to face her someday. I can't keep avoiding her."

"It'll be okay, Dahyun-ah. Don't be sad. Now help me get the cake to the table." Y/N patted Dahyun's back and the two girls took the cake to the table while everyone started singing happy birthday.

"Make a wish, Nayeon-ah." Tiffany yelled and Nayeon did as she was told and blew the candles while everyone cheered.

"Wait, you're 27 now?" Mina asked.

"Yeah, she's freaking old." Tzuyu chuckled.

"Yah, don't be like that to my girlfriend!" Y/N defended as she side hugged Nayeon.

"Says the one who calls her grandma all the time." Irene fired back.

"I just realized  that you're actually the grandma since you're even older than Nayeon unnie." Y/N laughed.

"Yah, if I'm a grandma what is Tiffany unnie then? She's the oldest here."

"Hey, leave me out of it!" Tiffany hit Irene's arm. Y/N always likes to bicker with Tiffany and Irene. She finds it amusing.

"Let's give our presents now." Seoyeon suggested and everyone agreed. They all started to give their gifts to Nayeon and the birthday girl is so grateful to have such great friends and family.

"Who's next?" Chaeyoung asked. Almost everyone gave their gifts except for one person.

"Y/N unnie." Tzuyu answered.

"Well, here is my gift." Y/N took out a box from her pocket and handed it to Nayeon.

"Happy birthday." Y/N smiled. When Nayeon opened the box her eyes widened. It was a diamond bracelet and it looks pretty expensive. How did Y/N manage to buy this?

"Y/N..."

"Do you like it?" Y/N questioned.

"I fucking love it. Thank you." Nayeon hugged her girlfriend tightly.

"But Y/N... Isn't this too expensive?"

"No, don't worry about it." Y/N shook her head and put the bracelet around her girlfriend's wrist.

"Y/N-ssi, don't spoil our daughter too much. We already spoiled her enough as a child." Nayeon's father laughed.

"She deserves to be spoiled. I never had enough money to buy her something like this, so now that I do, I can give her anything that she wants." Y/N cupped Nayeon's face and Nayeon gave the younger girl a quick kiss on the lips.

"Awww, Y/N is so sweet." Mina said and everyone agreed except for Seoyeon and Nayeon's mother. Even though they're pretty impressed by Y/N's gift, they won't admit it. After dinner everyone just talked and walked around. Everyone was basically just doing their own thing.

Ms. Im really wants to talk to Jihyo about her daughter's relationship. She trusts Jihyo and Jihyo seems to know Y/N well. There's no one else that could give her information on this matter.

"Jihyo-yah, can I talk to you?" Ms. Im approached her.

"Oh yeah, of course. Tzuyu-yah can you get us more drinks?" Jihyo asked Tzuyu and the younger girl agreed and walked away.

"You know Y/N well right?" The woman started.

"Yes. I've known Y/N for like 5 years now. Why?"

"What is she like? I think you already know that I'm worried about Nayeon. Even though I don't want her to date Y/N, I promised her that I would try to get to know her. So I just wanted to ask you what you think of them dating."

"Y/N is a very strong girl. I've actually never met anyone as strong as her. She went through a lot at such a young age and she managed to survive all by herself. I do admit that she was an asshole at school and she gave me a hard time doing my job but soon I realized that this was all because she had a traumatic childhood."

"You shouldn't worry too much, Ms. Im. Y/N may come from a bad family, but she isn't a bad person at all. Especially not when it comes to Nayeon. Y/N changed so much ever since she met Nayeon unnie. I can see how much she really loves her. Y/N takes good care of her and protects her like no one else ever has. I assure you your daughter is in good hands." Jihyo continued.

"But what if she falls back to the way she was before?" The woman questioned.

"I can't really say anything about that but I don't think it'll happen. As long as Nayeon is by her side, I don't think that's possible."

"Nayeon does look very happy with her though. Happier then when she was with Jeongyeon." Nayeon's mother realized.

"Yeah, she really is. I've never seen her this happy honestly. They both look at each other with love in their eyes. So please don't ruin it for her. She'll be a mess if you guys won't support her." Jihyo informed and the woman nodded. She knows Jihyo is right. Seoyeon was actually also listening to their conversation, more like eavesdropping. Even though she doesn't like Y/N at all, she also knows Jihyo is right. She wants to talk to Y/N right now so she went to look for her and luckily the girl was alone in the kitchen.

"Y/N? Can we talk?" Seoyeon asked.

"Oh yeah sure. I'm listening."

"Please take care of my sister. I know my parents wont separate you and I also won't be doing that since I can see how happy unnie is. So please just don't hurt her okay?" Y/N smiled upon hearing this. Does this mean that they're starting to accept their relationship?

"Of course not. I will do whatever it takes to not hurt her. Please trust me." Y/N pleaded and Seoyeon just nodded.

"By the way this doesn't mean that I like you now, I still don't." Seoyeon made clear.

"Okay." Y/N tried to hold in her laughter. She's just happy that at least they're somehow starting to accept her.

On the other hand Dahyun is all by herself on the balcony. She finds it very hard to be in the same room as Sana and Sana of course noticed this.

"Dahyun-ah? Why are you here?" Sana asked as she sat down next to Dahyun.

"Just wanted some fresh air."

"Look if it's making you uncomfortable that I'm here, I can leave." Sana informed.

"No, no, no. Don't leave."

"But you don't look okay, Dahyun-ie." Sana saw the look in Dahyun's eyes. It's a sad look. Is she the cause of this look in her eyes?

"Because I'm not, unnie. I thought I would be okay seeing you after months but why am I not okay? Why?" Dahyun's tears rolled down her face and Sana pulled her into a hug.

"I'm so sorry. This is all my fault. I hurt you and you're still hurting because of me." Sana is feeling really guilty.

"I don't know what to do." Dahyun admitted as she pulled away from the hug.

"Give me another chance, Dahyun-ah. We're both still hurting, we're both not over it. And I know for a fact that I will never get over you. I still love you and I really want you back. I promise that I won't lie about anything. I'll be an open book. I'll do anything just to win you back." Sana pleaded.

"Unnie, no. We can't do that. You're still a gangster."

"I'll give up being a gangster for you." Sana can't believe her own ears. She never would've thought that she would say something like this. She likes being a gangster but she also likes Dahyun. She needs to make a choice.

"I can't ask you do to that. You won't be happy if you give that up."

"Then what do you want me to do?" Sana asked. Is there really no way back?

"I-I don't know. Can we just be friends first? And from there on we'll see what happens."

"Okay. If that's what you want." At this point, Sana will do anything just to win her back.

After everyone went home Y/N and Nayeon went to bed. Same for Nayeon's family.

"Today went great, didn't it?" Nayeon asked as she cuddled Y/N.

"Yes. Luckily it was a very fun day."

"I think my parents are starting to like you. They were pretty impressed by how you took care of everything." Nayeon smiled.

"I think so too. You know Seoyeon actually told me that they're starting to see that we're happy with each other."

"Wait? Seoyeon did that?"

"Yeah. I was surprised too." Y/N laughed.

"I really love your gift, but please don't spend all your money on me anymore." Nayeon said as she looked at her new bracelet.

"It's your first birthday that we're celebrating together. Besides you also gave me a big gift remember?" Y/N remembered how Nayeon gave her a new phone since Y/N's was pretty old and it didn't function very well.

"I'm not even going to argue with you. It's useless." Nayeon gave up. She could go on, but Y/N would have a comeback for every single thing she says so it's best to not even start.

"Y/N?"

"Hmm?"

"Were you serious yesterday when you said that you want to marry me?" This question has been wandering in Nayeon's head since yesterday.

"Well, If you want to get married then we'll get married, if you don't then we won't."

"Yah!" Nayeon suddenly hit Y/N's chest.

"Aw, what was that for?" Y/N placed her hands on her chest.

"For once don't think about what I want. I want to hear what you want. You always do whatever pleases me, but what do YOU want?" Nayeon emphasized the word you and Y/N just sighed.

"I actually never wanted to get married until I met you and your family. I never really had a family so I didn't think of getting married or having kids since I thought that I didn't deserve it. But now I really want to have one. I want to have kids and give them all the love in the world and I just want to be happy. It's not too late to change my traumatic childhood into a happy life, is it?"

"Of course not. But wait you even want kids? I thought you hated kids?" Nayeon laughed.

"Eh, they're actually fine. I want to raise them and hopefully they'll turn out to be good people."

"How many do you want?"

"I don't know like three or four?" Nayeon widened her eyes upon hearing that.

"Okay, you're not Y/N. You're someone else. Are you possessed or something?" Y/N couldn't even face children before and now she wants four of them??

"Yah! Why would I be possessed? I was a child without parents and without siblings. I want our children to have a nice big family. Even if something happens to us, I want them to be there for each other. But if you don't want that, then that's okay too." Y/N actually doesn't care that much as long as she'll spend the rest of her life with Nayeon.

"Of course I'd want that too, pabo. I'm just joking with you." Nayeon laughed.

"You're joking huh?" Y/N suddenly got on top of Nayeon making her blush.

"Well, maybe I'm not. Who knows?" Nayeon said in a sexy voice knowing that Y/N really gets turned on whenever she uses that voice.

"I love you." Y/N said smiling.

"I love you too." Nayeon answered again in a sexy voice which caused Y/N to start kissing the older girl roughly. They continued to have a hot make out session for a few minutes until Y/N suddenly pulled away.

"Yah! Why did you stop? You always fucking stop when I'm getting turned on aish." Nayeon got frustrated.

"Your family is here. We can't do it." Y/N really wants to have sex right now, but too bad Nayeon's family is here.

"Who cares if they're here? They won't hear us."

"They will hear you. You're fucking loud." Y/N chuckled.

"Yah! That's not true." Nayeon pouted.

"Hell it is true. Your parents are starting to tolerate me so it would be risky to do it." Y/N doesn't want to ruin things with her family. They won't be happy if they hear their daughter screaming in the middle of the night.

"But it's my birthday." Nayeon said in a very cute voice. How can someone go from sexy to cute in under a minute? Only Ms. Im Nayeon can.

"I know, I know. But you also know it's risky. I promise, I'll make it up to you. Okay?" Y/N cupped her girlfriend's face.

"You better." Nayeon smiled and rested her head on Y/N's shoulder. Soon after that, the couple fell asleep.
