Chapter 48

A few days have passed and Sana is doing well. This is her last day in the hospital. She's going to get released tomorrow, which she's very happy about. Jihyo, Nayeon and Dahyun have been visiting her everyday. However she has noticed how Dahyun is acting weird. She's quiet and whenever Sana asks if something is wrong, she shrugs it off. The Japanese woman knows something is wrong, but she has no idea what.

"Oh unnies, you're here too." Y/N said as she walked into Sana's room and saw that Nayeon and Jihyo are there as well.

"Yah Y/N, where have you been? You haven't visited me in so long!" Sana yelled.

"I was here 2 days ago."

"Which is too long ago." Sana just wants all of her friends to visit her because she gets very bored in this freaking hospital.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry. I'll visit you more often." Y/N defended.

"It's too late for that, they're releasing me tomorrow."

"Who will take you home, though? Do you want us to come?" Jihyo asked.

"Dahyun will take me home."

"Guys I have a question, but I want you guys to answer me honestly." Sana started.

"What is it?" Nayeon asked.

"What's going on with Dahyun? She's acting weird around me and I think you guys know why." Sana asked and the girls just looked at each other deciding wether to tell her the truth or not.

"She knows about you." Jihyo said.

"What do you mean she knows about me?"

"She knows that you're a gangster and what really happened." Y/N added.

"What??? Did you guys tell her?" Sana lifted herself from the bed, but since she's still weak she couldn't lift herself that much.

"Yes." Nayeon answered.

"Are you crazy?? Why would you?" Sana is very angry right now.

"She had to know, Sana. We couldn't lie to her." Jihyo informed.

"I can't believe you guys did that. FUCK." Sana yelled in frustration.

"Can you please calm down? How else were we supposed to explain everything? And were you seriously still planning to lie to her after all that happened?" Y/N asked.

"Y/N shut the fuck up, I won't hesitate to kill you right now." Now it makes sense why Dahyun was acting like that. She never asked how Sana got hurt, which was already suspicious. Sana is sure that Dahyun will break up with her after she gets released.

"How much does she know?"

"She knows everything that we know." Nayeon answered.

"Well, not just Dahyun. The other girls as well." Jihyo added and Sana raised her eyebrows.

"What the fuck?? I get that you couldn't lie to Dahyun but why the fuck did you tell the others? You know that it's dangerous for them to know! Especially you, Y/N!"

"Yes, I know. And you're right we only should've told Dahyun. I'm sorry."

"Why didn't she confront me about it yet?" The Japanese woman asked.

"She wants you to get better first." Jihyo answered.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck! She's going to break up with me, I'm sure." Sana kept yelling. She knew this would happen one day but she didn't know that it would be so soon.

"I need to go talk to her right now." Sana tried standing up, but immediately fell down. Luckily Y/N was there to stop her from falling.

"Yah, are you crazy? You can barely walk. Where do you think you're going?" Y/N helped Sana back on the bed.

"I just..., I need to see her."

"You'll see her tomorrow. Then you can talk to her." Nayeon suggested.

"What's happening? I can hear your yelling in the hallways." Jeongyeon suddenly entered the room, which changed Nayeon's mood for the bad.

"Everybody knows who I fucking am, how can I not yell??" Sana continued yelling.

"Oh she found out?" Jeongyeon asked Jihyo. Jeongyeon hasn't been visiting that often because Y/N and Nayeon are always around and it makes everything just awkward when she's here.

"Hell yeah, I found out." Sana started breathing heavily. She's very worried about what's going to happen with Dahyun. The way Sana breathes when she gets angry reminds Nayeon of how Y/N used to breath when she got angry.

"Sana-yah, it'll be okay. I'm sure she'll forgive you. Besides it isn't that big of a deal that they know, I'm sure they won't treat you differently." Nayeon chuckled upon hearing Jeongyeon's words.

"Are you fucking serious? It's clear that no one ever revealed any of your secrets to the outside world." Nayeon raised her eyebrows. She's starting to get annoyed.

"Unnie, not now." Y/N looked at her.

"Look I get that you're mad about what I did and all, but aren't you overreacting? More than a year has passed and you're still being butthurt about it." Jeongyeon tried to defend. Jihyo just sighed because she knows what's coming next. Nayeon is going to freak out.

"You can't be fucking serious right? Are you really saying that I'm overreacting?? You don't know what I went through because of you!" Jihyo was right, Nayeon is kinda freaking out.

"Then tell me so I can know!"

"How do you not even know, huh? Everyone knew! You saw yourself how everyone kept judging me and mistreating me because I dated a student! I couldn't even go to the store without people glaring at me or calling me out. Do you know how fucking hard that was? Everyone was treating me like I'm some kind of monster who took advantage of my student. And here you're telling me that I'm overreacting?" Nayeon yelled. No one can understand what she went through. Everyone kept blaming her for everything without even knowing what happened. They all thought that she took advantage of Y/N by using her power.

"I-I'm sorry." Jeongyeon never realized that Nayeon was so affected by this.

"Can we just talk about it?" Jeongyeon tried to approach Nayeon, but Y/N blocked her.

"I think you should go." Y/N said.

"But..."

"Now, please. I won't repeat it." Y/N raised her eyebrows.

"Fine." And with that Jeongyeon left the room. She doesn't want to cause any trouble in a hospital room.

"I can't fucking believe her." Nayeon grabbed her head in frustration.

"Unnie, why didn't you tell me about all of this?" This is the first time that Y/N hears about all of this and it honestly breaks her heart.

"You weren't even here, Y/N."

"You should've told me when I came back."

"It's in the past, Y/N. People stopped doing it after a while." Nayeon looked down.

"I don't care if it's in the past. You should've told me!" Y/N really feels like shit right now.

"Let's talk outside." The older girl suggested and grabbed Y/N's arm and took her outside.

"I know that expression. What are you thinking?" Nayeon asked when they were outside.

"I'm a fucking asshole, that's what I'm thinking. I was a coward, I left you behind and you had to face the consequences all by yourself. I should have been the one to go through all of that, not you!" If Y/N knew that people were going to treat Nayeon this way, she never would have left.

"Y/N, even if you stayed here, they still wouldn't have judged you. Everyone thinks that I took advantage of you and that you were the victim." The teacher informed.

"Still, I should have been here to protect you and to tell them otherwise, but I fucking didn't." Y/N sighed.

"Stop blaming yourself, it wasn't your fault. Our relationship ended back then so I didn't need your protection and you had every right to leave. Besides if you hadn't left you would have gone mad staying here. And you also would have caused even more trouble than there already was." Nayeon thinks that it's a good thing that Y/N left because Y/N surely would've caused too much trouble by staying here.

"How can you say that I shouldn't blame myself? We were both in the wrong but you're the only one that had to face consequences. It's just not fair!"

"Y/N, stop it. Don't you think I knew this was going to happen when I started dating you? I knew it all. I knew they would all blame me and not you! I took this risk that day and I accepted the consequences so you should too!" Nayeon yelled.

"I just don't understand how they can blame you. You never took advantage of me and this was a 100% my own choice." Y/N sighed.

"I know, but they don't know that. They think I used my power to deceive you and that you just accepted it because you wanted to fix your grades."

"That's fucking bullshit." Y/N really can't believe that people thought that. If they knew who Y/N really was, they surely wouldn't have thought this way. But unfortunately people love gossiping and they tend to twist the truth.

"It is, but like I said, it stopped so please don't blame yourself." Nayeon caressed Y/N's arm. She understands how the younger is feeling right now.

"It's hard to not blame myself. I just can't stop thinking about how much you went through just so you could date me."

"I don't regret anything. If I could go back, then I would have done the same thing." Nayeon admitted.

"Really, why?" Y/N is confused. So many bad things have happened because of their relationship so why would she do it all again?

"Because I was happy and I loved you. Yes, I went though a hard time afterwards but it was worth it." The older said weakly and was suddenly pulled into a tight hug by Y/N.

"You make me fall for you harder everyday. Do you know that?" Y/N whispered while she caressed Nayeon's head.

"Is that a bad thing?"

"I don't know but I do know that you're fucking perfect." Y/N confessed as she pulled away from the hug.

"For your information, I don't regret anything either. I would do it all over again if it meant that I could be with you once again." Y/N admitted but Nayeon couldn't say anything further since Y/N's phone started ringing.

"Yes, unnie? Ah okay, I'm on my way." Y/N said and hung up the phone.

"Irene unnie just called. She needs me at work, so I need to go."

"Oh okay, I think I'm going to go home in a bit too." Nayeon replied.

"Can I come by after work? If that's okay?" Y/N thinks that today would be a good day to win her ex-girlfriend back.

"Yeah, sure. I'll wait for you." Nayeon smiled.

"Okay, then I'll see you later!"

"Yeah, later." And with that Y/N left to go to work.

It's almost evening and Dahyun still hasn't visited Sana. Sana has been waiting for her all day, she really needs to talk to her, but unfortunately she hasn't visited her today. Nayeon left a bit after Y/N and Jihyo left 20 minutes ago. After waiting for like 30 minutes, Dahyun finally came. The student doesn't even want to face Sana right now, but she needs to make sure that Sana is okay.

"Oh, Dahyun-ie. I thought you weren't coming today." Sana smiled weakly.

"Oh, I had some schoolwork to do." Dahyun answered without even looking at her girlfriend. Dahyun has been in a bad a mood for a while now, but at least Sana knows why now.

"Dahyun-ah, can we talk?"

"About?" Dahyun asked as she sat down on a chair next to Sana's bed.

"I heard you found out about everything."

"Let's not talk about that right now, unnie. It isn't something that we should talk about in the hospital." Dahyun doesn't feel ready to talk about it yet because she's scared of what might come afterwards. Besides they might end up yelling at each other, so the hospital is definitely not the place to have this conversation.

"Then when can we talk?" Sana asked weakly. She as well knows that this isn't going to end well, but she just can't stand seeing Dahyun like this.

"We'll talk after you get released, just not now."

"Okay, if that's what you want." The best thing Sana can do right now is just to agree on whatever Dahyun wishes.

When Y/N finished work it was a bit late but since she knows that Nayeon is probably waiting for her, she tried to finish fast.

"Yah, what's the rush?" Irene asked.

"Nayeon unnie is waiting for me."

"Please tell me that you guys are dating again?" Everyone around them just wants them to get back together.

"Not yet, but if it all goes well then today is the day that I'll win her back." Y/N smiled.

"Wait, really? Oh my God, finally. What are you waiting for? Go, go!" Irene hit Y/N's arm.

"Yah, I'm going. No need to hit me!"

"Don't come back unless you have a girlfriend!" Irene yelled from behind and Y/N just shook her head as she left the office.

Right at that time Nayeon just came back from the store. She didn't have much time to do groceries this past week so she decided to do it now. To her surprise when she came back she saw Jeongyeon in front of her building.

"Fuck, what is she doing here?" Nayeon asked herself as she locked her car. Jeongyeon has been waiting for her for about 30 minutes. She doesn't know the exact apartment Nayeon lives in and since she didn't see Nayeon's car in the parking lot she could guess that the teacher wasn't home yet, so she decided to wait.

"Why are you here?" Nayeon asked brutally.

"I just need to talk to you."

"No, please leave."

"Unnie, please. Just hear me out once?" Jeongyeon begged.

"How do you even know where I live?"

"I asked Jihyo." Nayeon made a mental note to scold Jihyo about this later on.

"Just once. Hear me out just once, and if you still don't want to see me after that, I will never show up again."

"Fine, just let me get these upstairs and I'll come back." Nayeon gestured to her groceries and went upstairs. She really doesn't want to have this conversation with Jeongyeon right now, but she knows her ex-girlfriend won't stop bothering her until they do.

"So what is it?" Nayeon asked as soon as she came back.

"Can we sit somewhere?" Jeongyeon asked and Nayeon nodded. There's a park nearby Nayeon's apartment so they went there and sat on a bench.

"I can't tell you how sorry I am, unnie. I still to this day regret what I did. I was just jealous of Y/N and I thought that she was going to hurt you. I wanted to stop your relationship in some kind of way but I did it in a wrong way. I didn't think that the consequences were going to be this bad."

"Jeongyeon, why didn't you just talk to me about it?"

"I tried talking to you, but you cut me off every time. I knew Y/N was dangerous and I really just wanted to protect you. I didn't have any bad intentions, I swear."

"I know." Nayeon knows her ex-girlfriend well. She knows Jeongyeon wouldn't hurt her on purpose, but that's the exact problem with Jeongyeon. Her actions are reckless and she hurt Nayeon way too much without even knowing.

"Can you please forgive me? It's all I'm asking for. I can't live with the thought that you hate me." Jeongyeon looked down.

"I don't hate you, Jeongie. Yes, I fucking hate what you did, but I don't hate you."

"How can you not hate me after everything I did?"

"Because I know you didn't have bad intentions. You weren't the only one trying to protect me from Y/N you know. A lot of people tried to change my mind and warned me about her." Nayeon remembered.

"It's a relief that you don't hate me. I will be leaving next week, I'm going back to my hometown. I didn't want to go back before I talked to you."

"Oh really? I didn't know about that."

"Yeah, this is probably the last time we'll see each other." Jeongyeon informed.

"I hope you'll be happy there. I know you weren't very happy here."

"I hope so too." It's true that Jeongyeon struggles a lot here.

Y/N just arrived at Nayeon's place but weirdly Nayeon isn't home while her car is. Y/N tried to call Nayeon, but Nayeon isn't picking up so Y/N decided to walk home. While walking back home she saw Nayeon and Jeongyeon talking on a bench in the distance so she decided to approach them but what she saw next made her stop in her tracks immediately. Jeongyeon and Nayeon were kissing? Y/N could feel her heart break, she has never felt this kind of thing before. Her heart just sank at the sight of the two kissing.

"Y/N?" When the two pulled away the first thing Nayeon saw was Y/N, who was not that far away from them.

"Y/N wait, it's not what you think." Nayeon stood up but before Nayeon could even explain Y/N decided to run. She can't be in this situation right now. Her heart is breaking.

"Unnie, wait." Jeongyeon stopped Nayeon, by holding her arm, who was about to run after Y/N.

"Stop it! Why did you fucking kiss me, huh? Why do you always have to ruin everything? Just let me go!" Nayeon freed herself from Jeongyeon and started running in the direction where Y/N ran to. Luckily she could catch up to Y/N.

"Y/N stop!" Nayeon yelled but Y/N has no intention of stopping. She has to run.

"Y/N stop running please, listen to me!" Nayeon stopped the younger girl from running by holding her arm. They're both out of breath right now.

"Please just let me explain." Nayeon pleaded.

"You don't have to explain anything to me, unnie. We're not dating so you can do whatever you want and you don't owe me any explanation. I have no right to interfere with your life, so if this is what you want to do then you can do it."

"This isn't what I want! She kissed me out of the blue and I was taken aback. I didn't know how to react. I know I should have pulled away."

"Stop talking about it! Why are you explaining this to me? Like I said you don't have to do it! So please just stop talking about it and leave me alone." Y/N just needs to be alone right now. Her heart hurts and she can't get the sight of them kissing out of her head.

"Are you really going to walk away right now? Without letting me explain anything?" Nayeon's eyes are getting watery. She doesn't want Y/N to be mad at her.

"Why are you feeling the need to explain to me what just happened? It's your life, you can do whatever you want."

"Because I love you! I fucking love you, Y/N. That's why I need to explain to you what happened. I don't want you to think wrongly. I don't want her, I only want you! Didn't I already tell you that I would wait for you? You're telling me that you don't want an explanation but I can see the hurt on your face, Y/N. I can see that your heart is breaking right now, even if you don't admit it. I don't want your heart to break over something that didn't mean anything to me." Nayeon approached Y/N.

"Then why did you kiss her back?"

"I didn't kiss her back, but I also didn't pull away, yes. I didn't have time to react, Y/N. I was just taken aback. Do you seriously think that I would go around kissing someone that isn't you? We had sex a couple of days ago and you know very well that I won't have sex with someone unless I'm serious about them. I love you, Y/N. Please just believe me." Nayeon looked down.

"Unnie, do you think that I deserve you?" Y/N got closer and lifted Nayeon's chin up with her fingers.

"Yes. You do."

"Then be my girlfriend." Y/N doesn't want to wait any longer. If she waits any longer, she might lose her to someone else. She won't be able to bear seeing Nayeon with someone else.

"W-what? Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm sure. I want you to be my girlfriend. I don't want to see you with anyone else but me. I want you to be mine." Y/N cupped Nayeon's face.

"Are you ready? I don't want to pressure you. Are you sure you're not just saying this because of what you just saw?"

"I am ready. I've been thinking about asking you this ever since that night we spend together, but I just didn't have the chance yet." Y/N admitted.

"So what are you saying?" Y/N raised her eyebrows.

"Yes, I will be your girlfriend, Choi Y/N." Y/N smiled upon hearing that. This is the moment she's been waiting for. She didn't waste any time and leaned in for a slow kiss. The kiss was full of love and passion with no lust at all just love.

"Do you want to go to my place?" Nayeon asked when they pulled away.

"Let's go." And with that they walked back to Nayeon's apartment hand in hand. Jeongyeon saw the entire scene from the distance. She didn't mean to kiss Nayeon but it just happened. She was caught up in the moment and since she knew it was going to be the last time she just did it. She's going to leave next week anyways, she just hopes that Nayeon will be happy with Y/N.

When Nayeon and Y/N came back to her apartment they decided to eat and watch a movie. After that, they went to bed since if got pretty late, but unfortunately Y/N just couldn't stop thinking about Jeongyeon. She wasn't even mad at Jeongyeon and she's been nice to her every time she saw her, yet Jeongyeon pulled another trick.

"You're bothered about Jeongyeon aren't you?" Nayeon asked as she cuddled onto Y/N. She can see how Y/N is in deep thoughts.

"Yes. I just can't believe that she pulled another trick." Y/N shook her head.

"I honestly don't think that it was a trick. She told me that she's leaving to her hometown next week and that she won't be back for a while."

"Oh really? Well, that's good, at least she won't be bothering us for now." Y/N felt relieved.

"You do believe me right? It really didn't mean anything to me and I really didn't kiss her back."

"I do believe you, unnie. I know what kind of person Jeongyeon is besides I know you wouldn't lie to me." Y/N kissed Nayeon's head.

"Are we really back together now?" Nayeon smiled.

"Yes, we are. I don't know if I have fulfilled my promise yet but I do know that I will love you, treat you well, protect you and most important of all I won't hurt you. At least not intentionally."

"I love you, unnie. I always will. To be honest with you there was a moment that I wanted to give up when I was at the farm. I thought that there was no way that I could get better and that there was no way of fulfilling my promise either, so I just wanted to give up. But remembering you, gave me strength to go on." Y/N explained.

"Did you ever talk to any other girls when we were apart?" Nayeon has been curious about this for a while now.

"Yes. It was during the time that I wanted to give up. Irene unnie introduced me to to some girls and they were interested in me but I wasn't. The more I talked to them, the more I missed you. I just didn't even want to talk to them, because they weren't you..."

"You're that whipped for me, huh?" Nayeon smirked.

"Aish, you're being delusional again." Y/N shook her head.

"Yah, why can't you just accept it? You know it's true." Nayeon acted cute.

"Whatever. How about you? Did you meet other people?"

"I got approached a couple of times and I went on some dates, but nothing really worked out."

"I'm glad it didn't." Y/N is relieved.

"You know that I love you right?" Nayeon caressed Y/N's face.

"I know, I know. I love you too." Y/N answered and Nayeon put her lips onto the younger's ones. At this moment they are very happy. The time that they were apart was hard for the both of them, but now they're finally back together.

"What made you decide that you were finally ready? I thought you needed more time." Nayeon asked. The last time they talked about this Y/N said that wasn't ready yet.

"After the talk we had that night I realized that I was actually ready. I don't want you to wait for me too long and who knows when you'll meet someone that's better than me. I realized that I should do what I want and not waste any time. I don't want to lose you."

"You're not doing this because you feel pressured right?" Nayeon just wants to be sure.

"No, I'm doing this because I'm ready and because I want this. I was worried that I might fall back to my old self after seeing my dad, but I noticed that he doesn't have the same effect on me as he did before. I feel like I can handle him, without falling into his trap." Y/N looked into Nayeon's eyes.

"I hope we'll last forever. I don't want to love someone that's not you. I want to end up with you, Y/N. Not someone else." The older girl admitted.

"Me too, me too." Y/N kissed Nayeon passionately. Soon after that they fell asleep in each other's arms. This is their new beginning.
